1st Choice Moving and Storage

This company is listed under two addresses. They have an address on Westpark Dr and another one at 6020 Jessamine St #305, Houston 77081 The owner is Bruce Wayne or Bruce Bernard - who knows? I found him on Thumbtack.com where I requested a quote to move the contents of a storage unit 7 miles to another storage unit. He sent me a quote via Thumbtack: "$79 per hour for Local Moving (under 50 miles) Total includes: Two movers, Transportation and travel up to 20 miles, Protective padding or blankets" I had asked for him to move me on 2/27, but he said he couldn’t do it until 2/28. He called the day before and told me they had to change the arrival time from 2-4pm to 4-6pm. It was the last day of the month and his crew did not arrive AT ALL on that date and I was summarily locked out of my unit until I made a payment of $240. He apologized and told me he would cover the $240. Which was the honorable thing to do. But he didn't. The next day he called at 12:20PM and told me his crew would be at my unit in 40 minutes. So, I got there on time but they didn’t. His crew arrived and the paperwork showed a $79 trip charge which was not on the quote he gave me. So I stopped them right then and called Bruce to let him know the trip charge was not on the quote. He did not answer his phone and his crew took off before I could even put the lock back on the unit. His response was to claim that the charges were discussed verbally. But that is not true. One of the reasons I picked them is because there was no trip charge. Since it was such an easy job and only 7 miles. less than 2 hours. The day his crew didn't show, I had already moved as much stuff as I could out into the hallway to help assist them because time was running out... And I had to move it all back into the unit.. (see pics) .I wrote PublicStorage corporate and begged for mercy because it was 1st Choice's error, movers but they were undeterred and I had to pony up TWO HUNDRED FORTY DOLLARS for March rent in order to access my unit and I have already paid rent at the new place.
