I've never written a review for a plumber before but I wanted to be sure to do it now because Tiffani is amazing. She was fast, efficient. skilled, friendly -- basically brilliant at her job. She fixed the problem quickly and now everything works perfectly. I will request her every time now (although TBH I hope I don't have another water leak). I hope this review convinces Stark Services and other companies to hire more women -- Tiffani got the job done!

The tech couldn't find the problem. Paid $69 service call for nothing. Offered a bunch of maybe it's this, maybe it's that but at the end of 2 hours couldn't explain the problem or provide a resolution. Thought it might be the thermal expansion valve. Didn't have the part and said someone would call us today. No call, no part, no service. Tried to call the office at 4:55 and got an answering service. We won't use them again.

The rep came. I had dug out the heavy housing box and one foot around. CleNed the hole for easy access to the pipe. I was given an estimate of $550 to put in a simple connector. Of course even I know that's highway robbery. But of course I had to pay $70 dollars for the call. I asked the guy if that is fair. He said that's the price his boss quoted over the phone. Anyway. I went to Home Depot and fixed it myself for a cost of $60. They are scamming people giving ridiculous estimates and the. Just collecting $69 for house calls. Stay away from these scammers.

I have a service agreement with them. Actually, I didn't pay anything out of pocket for the service but, for the whole year; this is includes two visits for two air conditioners is $298.00. By weighing in the value for what they do and how pleased we have been with them, they are little bit high. So far, they've been worth it to us.

This company installed our system about 3years ago and we had not had any issues before. At our spring check this year Were told parts were needed and had them replaced. Were not told ahead of tine cost of parts and tec had to come back to install. After install we were given total price that turned out to be over 4 times higher than exact same parts would have cost on line. When we called to ask for breakdown of labor and parts we were told they don't do that. Our parts are a lump sum. Asked for owner to give us a call two times and have not heard back. Horrible customer service.

The appointment was scheduled on Thursday from 2-5pm and no one showed up. No one called me either. I called to ask what happened and was told that 2 technicians had not showed up for work and could I reschedule. I said OK, but that I would appreciate it if I could receive a phone call. She said OK. The new appointment was set up for Friday at the same time. At 1:32, I received a call from Stark air saying the technician was on his way and would be there in 20 or 30 minutes. I said I could be at the house at 2:00pm. I raced home and parked in my garage that is at the back of my house. I noticed the technician had parked in my neighbor's driveway, so when I can into the house, I proceeded to go out the front door to tell him he was parked in my neighbor's driveway. I approached his truck and waited. He rolled down the window and I explained he was in my neighbor's driveway and would have to move. He told me he would be with me in a moment and that he did not appreciate strangers approaching him in his office. I was obvious to me that he had some sort of issue with me, so I called Stark Air and actually spoke with Joe Stark. The technician eventually left when he realized I had called the office. Joe Stark assured me this was not acceptable and that this was not what his company was about. I tried to let him talk to the technician, but the tech had already gone. Marylin rescheduled me with a new appointment, but of course no one showed up. At 4:55 she called to try and reschedule. I decided to pass. Whatever the issue is with Stark is unfortunate. They used to be the best in Fort Worth. Now, what happened concerning my maintenance is typical of Stark. This is the third time in a row that this type of thing has happened to me when I have called them. I had been a customer for many years.
Description of Work: Nothing was done because they did not show up. They were supposed to just do a routine maintenance check on my air conditioning system. The company had sent out an email advertising the service to its "loyal customers" and I responded.

We sent them away - WHAT A SCAM. WANTED OVER $550 FOR 1 HOUR OF WORK USING OUR FURNISHED PARTS. The service man said we could call his boss and maybe get a discount but that their fees for each of the 3 services were set fees. We did not call his boss.

I spoke with Todd via phone to get a whole-house dehumidifier. The inside humidity has been bouncing between 70-78% making the house very uncomfortable. Todd sent Cody out to evaluate the job and determine equipment placement, etc. Within 20 minutes Cody identified the root cause for the humidity; my return ducts leaked badly. Apparently the "wall-returns" built into my mid-1980's home are notoriously poor and commonly have leaks. In my case it was the direct result of the original installation being slipshod and negligent (no other way to say it). So, instead of a $3000+ dehumidifier installation I got 2 new ceiling returns for under $1400. The house humidity is now staying between 63-70%. I am very happy with this company and have been since I purchased my current system from them 5 years ago.

Today I called for a 91y/o neighbor who had loss her airconditioner service two days before She had called another A/C company who her family had been dealing with for many years. They promised to be there at a certain time, never called nor showed up, when she called they promised another time without showing up. Her house was 90 degrees. Today the other company came and price gouged her. That's when I called Stark Services and told them the story. Stark said they would try to be their within the hour. Rick came out at that time. Bless that man. He could get her the needed system the next day and for $1200. less than the other company. And if he could not get it in the next day he would have a technician install an old A/C that would at least keep her cool and comfortable until the new system could be replaced. And there would be NO cost for doing that. After he left today, he called back to say there was a technician in the area who would put in a temporary A/C that worked until they could get the new system in on Monday. This is a company that installed our furnace and A/C that we have been very happy with
Description of Work: I can not commend Stark Services enough. They provided air conditioning for an elderly person who had lost her cooling two days before after her normal service provider would not help her for an additional 4 days in 100 degree weather

Technician came in for pre-summer service. At the end he presented me with 3 options because he "was concerned" for our equipment's well being, from a high of $3,000 to a low of $300. Every time they came (twice a year), the technician tells me my capacitor is about to go bad. Three years running...! I asked why the replacement is $261 when I can buy the part much cheaper, and he explained they cost the company $100. Plus, he was already here. I finally told him to replace it because he was throwing a drain cleaner.I I then went on Amazon, and I could buy the part for 59.00, tax and shipment included. They can probably buy it cheaper in bulk. So they charge $200 for a 15 minutes job.

Just awful. Told them I needed a report of findings and an estimate as we were negotiating with the Buyers and it took them a week and a half after the service to get them to me. I told them the option period ended on a Sunday, six days after they were out there, and I needed it a few days before then, but it was no concern to them. They then told me it would be $21k+ to replace the sewer lines under the house, keep in mind that it is pier and beam and one of the top 5 biggest crawl spaces you'll ever see. I got another estimate for $4.5k. They straight up tried to screw me over.

Stark Services would like to apologize to this customer for their unsatisfactory experience. Upon review we found that our plumbers had quoted 4 different options with costs varying from $1,700 to $21,000 in an attempt to tackle several different issues and provide an array of services to be decided upon. We also found that the initial information was sent 3 days after the assessment and a follow up call was made to make sure the scope of work for each individual quote was walked through. It is never our intention to portray ourselves as unethical and we take great pride in the work our employees are capable of every day. We thank this customer for his review however we feel this call was handled correctly by our staff at this time.

Bottomline if you don't want to read further --- Do no use them! The replacement of the hot water heater was a home warranty call to them. They removed the old one and got a new Bradford White to replace it with. There were multiple issues with this install. First problem was when they did, they did not center it on the pan and blocked the PVC pipe. This has made me drain and recenter the heater in the drain pan. Keep in mind, this was one of the issues that it was blocked, so while he said he blew it out, it could not be going forward due to the tank in the way. Secondly, the automatic cut off valve was installed. This shut off as they did not leave the paper wrapper on it in a metal pan like instructions state. When called back out, the tech stated the roof was leaking causing the issue. I called the roof guy and it was fine now and before the install. It was hard early each morning, getting in the attic to turn it back on. Finally, I called them and told them to get someone else out here. They sent another person and he told of the paper wrapper of the sensor in the metal pan and it's been working since. (It is of my opinion, that since it was easier to put some 2x4s under the pan instead of doing the right thing and making the vent lower, they pulled the vent pipe and tugged and might have caused some of this if it did leaks, which my roofer says not and it's rained as you know.) Lastly, the new hot water heater was shorter than the old one. They banged it up (and got pictures if you would like to see of before) going up the attic stairs and afterward. He stated it won't matter but time will tell if this lasts 6 years. He also put some loose 2x4 under it to raise the hot water heater. Why the inspector stated he couldn't write it up like that he would recommend a platform being built. I told both on all the calls and the last one said he would come back and fix it. They have never called or showed up. The list goes on, but as I stated, I would not recommend them for any plumbing services, I know I'm not.
Description of Work: Provider replaced the Hot water heater and added an automatic shutoff value, Hot water covered by home warranty. I paid deductible and the auto cutoff valve.

Our Plumbing Manager Jim Brant has tried to reach out to this customer several times, and would like the opportunity to correct these issues. This installation did not hold up to the high standards we set for ourselves and as a result of that we are incredibly sorry to have not put our best foot forward. We strive for excellence and proving we care with every repair, which we obviously did not embody during this installation. I have been a Stark Air customer for more than a decade. Up until this recently I only needed them for yearly maintenance, which I was enrolled in the yearly maintenance program, where they would come out twice a year for routine maintenance. They had always done a great job in keeping my system running smoothly so when looking for a new system they were the first inline that I would consider. My Wife and I built a new home in 2012 and had numerous problems with the builder grade A/C where it would not keep the upstairs and down stairs below 80 degrees on a 100-degree day. After having the builder A/C contractor come out 7 times without any resolution I decided I didn?t want to deal with them any longer and would live with this until I could replace the undersized system. In November 2015 I started the process of having various HVAC companies analyze my system and make recommendations. My house had a heat pump originally and I wanted to convert this to natural gas high efficiency furnace since the gas line for the fireplace went right under the air-handler in the attic. Now over the past 3+ years I have done extensive research on HVAC systems especially since our home is utilizing spray foam insulation, which is great for efficiency but has some challenges. Air quality along with having the correct equipment is essential in maintaining safety when installing and safety for my Family was my main concern in hiring the right company who understands the challenges. Of the four HVAC companies I had come out they all found that the unit was undersized along with the ductwork not sufficient to heat or cool the size of the house. Of the four companies they where all pretty much inline with each other on cost but some of the equipment was from various manufacturers. I decided to go with Stark Air for many reasons. The first was that I had a relationship with the company for so long but mainly due to the diligence of Mark Cowden from Stark Air. Mark was the most by far who took the time to go through the entire house along with investigating all that was required and needed to build a system that was safe and most efficient when dealing with spray foam insulation. Mark truly shown concern for my Families safety and my over-all customer satisfaction. Mark was also present during the install to ensure that the system was being built to his specifications and design. We decided to have the new unit installed on December 29, 2015 and the crew of six arrived on time and ready to go. The entire crew was very considerate of my house and made sure floors to the attic where all covered and protected. They did the entire job in one day and I couldn?t be happier with the install. Since I do have sprayed insulation I utilize the storage space in the attic for storage. The home Builder had wire and debris all over and the air-handler was just thrown in there with metal strapping. Stark did a great professional job utilizing a hanging cable and steel support structure to hang the new furnace. All wiring was cable tied and neatly placed. You could tell the Guys had a lot of pride in there work and it had shown when the job was through. The furnace is working 100 time better than the heat pump and the house is much more comfortable over-all. I consider myself a demanding customer who demands attention to detail and would highly recommend Stark Service for any HVAC or plumbing service. I may have failed to mention but Stark Plumbing had to tie into my existing gas line and did a fantastic job as well. Following the safety codes along with taking care of permits and inspections needed to complete the work.

I called the service to report that my furnace would not turn on. The technician arrived promptly and stated that my service record indicated that on the last inspection the switch appeared to be broken (I had an annual service contract with them). The tech then went up to look at the furnace and opened two panels on the wrong side of the unit. Later he came down and reported that the combustion chamber on the unit had a crack and the unit needed to be replaced. He had completely taken apart and dismantled the unit. I could not see a crack he was referring and asked him to reassemble the unit. He did reassemble the unit but would not reconnect the wiring and also disconnected the unit from the thermostat downstairs. The technician said he could not re-connected the unit because the law would not allow him to reconnect the unit. So he left and the furnace was completed disconnected from the power and the unit control board. He charged $49.00 for this. Also my neighbor said that he asked if I was an old person while waiting for me to arrive. I called another service and the technician looked at the unit and said it was disconnected. He also could not see any crack in the combustion chamber or anyplace else for that matter. In the end, the second technician reconnected the furnace and it works perfectly. I have had an annual service contract with Stark for the last nine years and the service had been excellent. However, in the last two years I began to notice that the service technicians seemed to be less skilled and were overly concerned about replacing the my Heating and A>C system than repairing it. I learned this year that Stark had been purchased by a large company in Houston. The Stark of old is no longer. Do not use this company.

Stark Services would like to thank this customer for his review. We joined the Church Services family in 2012 and retained the majority of our staff in the transition including Sean Stark. While we are unable to vouch for the other company's technician we do feel it is the right thing to stand behind our own. It is against proper codes for us to reconnect a unit we find in an unsafe condition. Stark Services thanks this customer for being a long time and valuable part of our company. As such, this issue was one of many we have found over the years leading up to our decision to offer a consultation for replacement. We sincerely hope this customer will use us again in the future as it is always within our culture to do the right thing no matter the situation.

Recently Stark Services was at my home to perform some free of charge warranty services. Even though my air conditioning warranty was toward its end, Stark Services sent out a great team of guys to repair an issue that was in part due to a small manufacturer design flaw. When I first contacted them, they were very prompt about getting someone out to look at things. They were very thorough with their evaluation of the issue and provided a solution that was better than what I would have ever expected from any company. They spent several hours making the fix and then some time after making sure every throughout the home looks good. In a day where I feel it?s hard to find good service, Stark Services renewed my hopes and expectations. When looking for our new AC system, our existing system was still working. Our original equipment was construction grade and was toward the end of its life. We had plenty of time to research companies and received multiple quotes. At the time, Lewisville AC and Stark Services were merging companies. It was Lewisville AC who did the installation, although now the two companies go by Stark Services. Lewisville AC?s quote came in as what I thought to be very reasonably priced. Their recommendation to perform a Manual-J calculation I?m sure also played a large part in them getting our business. Their use of Bryant equipment and their great track record clinched it. Before the installation, we had hot/cold spots in our home that are since gone. Our energy bills have been reduced quite a bit also. But most importantly, I have confidence that our systems are going to be working worry free for a long while to come. I?m not one who ordinarily writes reviews, but in this instance I felt compelled to say something really nice about their company. I?m really impressed with their business.
