The actual work performance was acceptable; however, the cost was outrageous. It should be noted that $632.18 of the total cost was not given as an estimate. The original cost of $757.75 was on the expensive side, but was given as an estimate for initial work. The bill was not itemized. There was not a separation of the charges for the labor (including number of hours) and parts for replacing the cholorinator. Part of the labor charge including driving time to get the part which was apparently charge at $125.00 per hour. There was no itemization of the fee for the driver of the waste tank. The charge of $125.00 an hour is outrageous in my opinion. I was not made aware of the labor rate prior to the job. It should be noted that I (the customer) assisted with the digging out the broken chroninator and assisted in installing the new part. The owner stated that he took my assistance into consideration when giving me the total bill. 4/18/15 Update: It should be noted that I was completely satisfied with the quality of the original service provided in a friendly and professional manner. My issue was the extreme charge for labor. Mr. Shrader contacted me after he became aware of my issue with the bill. He offered to provide free inspections in the future or a refund check, whichever I preferred. The service or refund would be valued to the point of my satisfaction, thus making the previously performed job more reasonably priced. I received a refund check which was an amount we both felt was fair. Due to Mr. Shrader?s contacting me to address my issues and attempting to resolve these issues to my satisfaction, I would recommend doing business with Environmental Health Specialties, Inc.
