We were very happy with our landscape project. Mike created a plan that included our input. He and his crew arrived as scheduled and completed the job in one day.
Description of Work: We asked Mike to landscape an area under the live oak in our front yard that was bare due to the lack of sunlight. He installed a rock border, accent boulders and a cobblestone wash. He installed plants that can grow with little to no sunlight. Everything was done according to his plan and estimate.

Mike went above and beyond with our garden project. We had him clear out what was there, put in something new, and level our side yard with a pathway. I wanted to save a plant for my sister from the previous garden and he had a beautiful replacement because nothing was worth saving. I sent him my inspirations and we are so happy with not just the beauty of our new garden, but also the durability. We can't wait to enjoy for years to come. When we do our backyard we will definitely be using Landscape Innovations

We had a great experience with Mike, and would definitely use him again! He did an amazing job of landscaping our back yard where grass would not grow due to being highly shaded from our huge trees. He had great ideas, was very professional, and reasonable for what we had done. He made our backyard "mud pit" into a beautiful oasis!

TERRIBLE. I was not around when the job was going on, but from reviews I trusted him. When it was all done I came home and it was not what I wanted but thought better than the last guy. Within the next few days every time I went out I was not happy. I has SPECIFICALLY asked NO decomposed granite, No mulch. I wanted stones. I was still hopefully wishing to get a bit of my first wish of a dry riverbed. I prefer stones and LOW MAINTENANCE, over grass. I went with his suggesting of leveling the yard and putting all new sod (which of course I had to because there was nothing but mud after leveling)...still upset I as not going to get my dry riverbed dream yard, He said not possible because of the first landscaper. He also assured me I would get used to the decomposed granite (which I said I did not want in the beginning) NOW. I had to pay to have stones bought in and put over all the decomposed granite, which he used on the sides with flagstone rocks. Every time I walked from outdoors and came in I basically bought sand into house. The landscaping rock he used to make flower beds (which I did not want ) and again putting decomposed granite in them also. Have all come apart. He DID NOT USE any LANDSCAPE FABRIC in any of my areas. I only have 4 shrubs, and 1 Little Gem (small Magnolia) left. My full time job is pulling weeds from the beds and yard. The sod was nothing but weeds. In the original plan he was going to build a nice bench for seating in the large corner of the yard. HAHA to that because when I aske what happened he said he changed his mind. I had him back out several times (Of course he was already paid in full, which I will never do again until I check things out for several weeks afterward to make sure things were done correctly or at lease satisfactory). The sprinkler system was suppose to be set to supply water to the new plantings. Well after a couple visits and it still not being corrected, is what happened to many of my plantings. They never got watered. I did it for a while by hand but only reminded me how upset I was with Mike and his contractors/ sub contractors. The sprinkler system he supposedly added and or adjusted for my plantings was never done. Even after several times sending the sprinkler guys or Mike Rohe (owner) back ..Yes this has been almost 2 years now, (which I have tried repairing what I could on my own (landscaping fabric, cementing the landscape stones back together, configuring my sprinklers, pulling up the last few shrubs that are left, etc.) The reason I am writing another review is because I am now shopping again for a GOOD LANDSCAPER this time that can do a PROFESSIONAL job and NOT CUT CORNERS.
Description of Work: He was a second hire after a lot of researching to fix what another landscaper destroyed. Mike Rohe is a good talker, but not good business man

The client, [Member Name Removed], hired our company when the previous contractor quit working due to nonpayment. The work was incomplete and not very well done and pretty unprofessional. I met with [Member Name Removed] several times trying to get her vision as to what she would like as I do with all of our clients and have for 38 years. She wanted what we call a Southwest Xeriscape which is drought tolerant easy to care for plants. I submitted the pallet which she was very enthusiastic about. She decided that she wanted ornamental cobblestone to completely cover all of the beds instead of mulch which is fine. When I told her the cost for the Arizona Cobblestone which she liked would be $6,000.00, she decided she couldn't afford it so the next best alternative was decomposed granite which we use in just about all of our Southwest Xeriscapes. A cost savings to her of $4,500.00. She never once mentioned not liking the decomposed granite and if she had, I would have suggested another option. It is really unbelievable that we did this project over 4 years ago and she is just now posting pictures and a poor review. As you can see, the landscape has not been maintained. Why is she just now posting when we completed the project 4 years ago? I did mention to her that there would be weeding, pruning, general care required to maintain a great looking landscape. Well, it appears that hasn't happened in the 4 years since it was completed. She never contacted me and I'm just now seeing this review. I'm just not sure why is she now posting a complaint. We have been in business for 38 years and if a customer is not satisfied, we make sure that we do whatever it takes to satisfy them and make their project what they want it to look like. This is just a lack of care and maintenance and has no bearing on the project that we completed years ago.

I am very pleased with the work Landscape Innovations did for me. Mike was professional, easy to work with and attentive to my needs. He and his crew completely redid my flower beds in the front and back including clean out, organic soil, black fabric, mulch in the front and rocks in in the back. They were timely and neat and everything looks great! Mike also coordinated a new fence for me with his fencing company contact and it is beautiful! I love my new yard and highly recommend Landscape Innovations if you are looking for quality work and fair prices.

Mike and his team were amazing to work with. They were responsive to our needs, quick to do the work, and thoughtful in the design and placement of the plants. The lawn looked nice immediately after all the Palisades Zoysia sod was laid down but I was worried that the old Bermuda grass underneath would reemerge because there was minimal effort made to remove or kill the Bermuda before the new sod was laid down. I watched them scalp the Bermuda grass with weed-eaters and then lay down a very small layer of sand (probably 1/4") over the scalped lawn. Nothing was done to try to kill the Bermuda or prevent it from coming up through the gaps in the sod pieces. Sure enough, six weeks later I'm looking out at my yard and the Bermuda has reappeared EVERYWHERE!

I used Landscape Innovations for two projects a few weeks ago. The first was to replace my Bermuda Lawn with Palisades Zoysia and the second was to replace a generic walkway to my front door with a new Stamped Concrete walkway. Since I left a pretty mixed review for the sod replacement I feel like it is only fair to give a good review for the Concrete work done by Landscape Innovations. The removal of the "generic" concrete walkway and installation of a new stamped concrete walkway went very well and was completed in one day. They allowed me to pick the exact path that I wanted for the concrete forms and made sure that the color (red brick to match the house) was what I wanted. We are very pleased with the work and get many compliments from our neighbors on the new walkway.

Mike was very helpful in getting us a plan we liked at a price we wanted. We made a number of changes in both the scope of the plan and our budget over time and Mike stayed with us and got us what we wanted and within budget. The plants he installed were larger than we expected them to be and he even upgraded our fencing wood at no additional cost. His crew was efficient, courteous, and reacted swiftly to our requests. I would have no hesitation to hire Landscape Innovations again or to give them my highest recommendation.

We were having drainage problems in the front and side yards. I called Landscape Innovations to have Mike Rohe come out and look over the situation. In no time at all he had figured out what the problem was and how to solve it. His crew came and put in a wonderful drainage system for us. They worked for nearly two days and were always prompt and professional. When they left they cleaned up the site and left it in great condition. Mike always responded quickly to any questions that I had. He is wonderful to work with. We are going to have him come back in the spring and do landscape work for us.

Mike met with me and provided an estimate of the job. He had really good ideas of how to lay out the plants and which ones would be good to go in a flower bed around a large tree. He also suggested replacing the border with one that looked more natural and allowed better movement when the roots around the tree shifted. He was the most reasonable in price also. I am so pleased with how it turned out. Both flower beds look great and the stone border is very nice. I would totally use Landscape Innovations again. They were prompt, did a great job, and cleaned up afterwards. Highly recommend!

We recently bought a home in Frisco. The lawn was in very bad shape. It was hard for me to visualize what would look good. I had some other companies give me bids and most companies want you to have some idea of what you want. Unfortunately I didn’t know much about sod, plants or types of stones that would look good. Thankfully Michael Rohe from Landscape Innovations came by and had a vision of what woul look good and work in my yard. My yard is now beautiful. New sod in the front and back yards, gorgeous stone and plants that will require minimal care. I now have people stopping by taking pictures of my lawn. My neighbors are so thankful we moved in and made this house beautiful. Thank you Michael for you vision and all your help. Michael worked around my schedule and asked how much money I wanted to spend. I must admit I did go over budget but it is a investment that I think will pay for itself in time. The workers that came were very polite and professional. But Michael was not far away and came to supervise the whole project. That was important to me. Thank you Michael

Mike was extremely responsive with pricing. I was mostly unavailable to meet, but Mike and I communicated very well through email and over the phone, making plant selections and discussing what type of look we wanted to achieve. Once we settled on the final scope, materials and pricing, Mike stayed in touch with me while we scheduled the work. Once Mike's team started at my property, the work was conducted very professionally. The work areas were left cleaned and organized at the end of each day and they communicated well with my wife and I, to ensure that our expectations were being met. As I work in the commercial construction industry, I am familiar with the signs of a good crew. Cleanliness and organization are very good indicators of the final product. In this case, the final product was even better than expected. In my line of work, I have come to trust the work of design professionals. So, with exception to the just a few plants, that were more a matter of preference, I allowed Mike to create the space I was looking for, without any input on location or layout of materials being used. He did not disappoint.

Mike Rohe of Landscape Innovations is an accomplished professional whose knowledge of materials and design vision is outstanding. He and his employees overperform and overdeliver his masterful landscape designs. It is refreshing to work with someone who listens to our comments, who does what he promises, and always returns calls. He and his workers were polite, on time, conscientious, and left the area clean. Mike met with us, discussed our general landscape vision and challenging environment, and made numerous creative cost saving suggestions to improve and implement it. Our heavily shaded backyard has a small spring that feeds into a creek and greenbelt, which requires shade tolerant plants that are not harmful to our dog. Mike overdelivered on our vision of natural rustic planting beds, stacked rock walls, and river rock in the spring runoff canal. Without reservation, we recommend Mike Rohe with Landscape Innovations to anyone wanting a company to do a superior landscaping job.

Couldn't have been more pleased with Mike Rohe and his crew. His knowledge of the Texas landscapes and the myriad of plants really showed. The crew did an excellent job in getting the work done in a timely and professional manner.
Description of Work: Complete redo of our front landscape, and a few smaller areas of our rear landscape. This involve demoing the old existing plantings, doing soil amendments for better growing conditions, recommending which plants/trees which would be best for our landscape and desires, doing the actual plantings, and finalizing with mulch. Also, had 2 stone circles with mortar put around existing trees in the front yard. Also, had select sections of front yard grass redone with Bermuda sod. Added 3 sprinkler heads for better irrigation of the new landscape.

What a transformation! Our landscaping was original to the house, built in 1990. Bushes had died, others were overgrown & out of shape. We knew we couldn't manage the project ourselves & needed professional help. Mike met with us for a consultation, then came back to measure & created a plan. He understood what we liked/wanted and what would work for our yard. We absolutely love what he created & cannot believe how quickly they completed the work. They were prompt, professional & cleaned up very well. It was a big project for us & but worth every penny. We couldn't be happier.

The men dug trenches for two french drains and installed those. They used a rototiller to chew up the remaining part of the bed. We had called 811 to get markings for utilities ahead of time. The men prepared the ground with a good mixture of compost and gardening soil. Next, Mike Rohe described a layout to the men for placing a border of landscape timbers, 3 boulders, 2 strips of river rocks, many plants, shrubs and flowers and the stone walkways. After these initial preparations, Mike looked it over and asked many times for plants, flowers and bushes to be moved slightly, rearranged or replaced. There was also a Japanese maple and a pink redbud in the mix. The best part was that we got to attend and watch this production orchestrated to perfection with careful attention payed to each participating plant. Mike walked the area and looked it over from several angles until he was satisfied. Finally, the men dug holes, put in their mix and planted. Drip lines were added throughout. The last touch was a top layer of mulch. The drip lines were tested. It turned out gorgeous! We did not have to pay extra for tickets to attend this production. They received a standing ovation. Anne really liked that Mike listened to what she wanted and did a beautiful job of incorporating it into the landscape. Landscaping is Mike's passion and it shows!
Description of Work: We asked for a flower/shrub garden to be created in an 18' x 30' area on the west side of our gazebo and a 20' x 8' area behind the gazebo. Additionally, we asked for a foot of river rocks to be placed on all 4 sides of the new shed we just had built. Also, I asked for river rocks to be spread to help stop erosion by rain water since our property slopes down toward the back. We also asked for a stone walkway to pass through the flower shrub area and another stone walkway beneath the gate coming from the driveway to eliminate water from pooling in the area where we frequently pass through.
