They spoke very highly of Tyler so I hired him based off their recommendation. The problems included missing pieces of tile, the grout had bubble holes and simply no grout in other places, the caulking was sloppy and had to be trimmed off. The caulking cracked around the tub as well. He was resistant to my suggestions and his helper was unprofessional. Runnels told me that all of this was acceptable when I brought it up to them. I will never do business with either of them again.

We had discussed the type of flooring with this company several months ago, and we spoke with several people who have already used this company and the same vinyl planks that we wanted--they were very happy with the results, so we requested an estimate.  An appointment was made for someone to come to measure the area--Mr. Runnels son-in-law arrived on time, measured and was extremely helpful, answering all our questions. This was on a Thursday.
We also received an estimate from another company, which was higher, so we arranged to have the work done by Runnels Carpets.  We wanted it done ASAP, because we are expecting overseas visitors in October.  The Monday following we got a phone call saying they could install the flooring on the Thursday--wonderful!
The man arrived  to start installation right on time.  Within an hour the furniture had been moved, and half the carpet removed, and the work progressed swiftly from then on.  The man doing the installation, Tony Villorin, was meticulous in measuring, preparing the concrete surface and laying the vinyl planks--which look wonderful.  He worked steadily, and the living room was complete before the end of the day, and the furniture moved back where I wanted it, so we could be comfotable that evening.  The small hallway was finished the following day, as was the final finish-work (shoe mold, thresholds where the carpet had been cut at the entrance to bedrooms etc.) and clean-up.
We highly recommend Runnels Carpet, we have no complaints, everybody we have dealt with has been extremely knowledgeable and helpful and very pleasant.  In fact, we plan on having the rest of the house (three bedrooms) done early next year, and will certainly  use Runnels Carpet--and request that Mr. Villorin be the one to do it.

From the first day he was 4 hours late. Had to rent the tools to do the job so I would think you would start early to get a full days use, but not. Hired a lazy helper who talked on cell phone and ruined a lot of flooring with bad cuts. After second day I knew I had messed up, but he had a way with words and played on me being a single lady and even went as far as to forge a friendship with my young single daughter who also fell for his charms. I ended up having to hired anther contractor to finish for more money and fix his mistakes. Never would I let this man so much as lay a rug in my home.

Do, ask about assurance of proper service after the sale. 

Don't assume everything will be taken care of.

This family owned business was recommended by a friend.  When I went into the showroom, the sales people were very friendly and helpful.  My husband and I took three samples home in order to make a decision and asked for someone to come measure for our order (assuming we would give the samples back at that time).  Two weeks later, I received a call asking for us to bring the samples back and I told them I was waiting for someone to measure.  They apologized and sent someone out the next week.  The owner arrived to measure and explained how his son and son-in-law were the installers and how they had high expectations that all jobs would be well done and to the buyers expectations.  He called me two days later and gave me a quote for the flooring and a handout with very detailed instructions about installation - such as they would not be responsible for animals in the area, the price did not include shoe molding, how to prepare the room, etc. 

The vinyl plank we wanted had to be ordered which I was told would take about three weeks but when it arrived early, they called to install it the next day.   I asked for two days to get ready by moving furniture and they said the price included moving the large furniture.  I was thrilled!  The installers arrived and were friendly and courteous.  When they left, the floor was gorgeous, the place was nearly spotless and the large furniture was back in place where I left it.  We installed the shoe molding, wet mopped the floor, moved back in the room and began to enjoy the floor.  

About a week later I noticed a plank that appeared to have a piece of debris under it as it was buckled in one spot.  I called Runnels carpet, explained the situation and they came two days later to repair it and then it really was perfect!  I felt comfortable leaving them a key and not being present for the repair.  By then, I felt I knew this wonderful, ethical family.  Great experience
