I'm in sales for a living so I know the importance of professionalism, punctuality, and follow up. I originally called Green Earth Services in March of 2015 to get a bid on some landscaping in my backyard. I spoke to Susan Newell and planned a meeting for her to come out and look at the scope of my project and give me a bid. I got a call from her the day before saying she would need to reschedule because she had an eye infection, no problem things happen so we rescheduled. She came to my house was polite and we discussed the scope of the project. I was told she would create the drawings and schedule another meeting with me and discuss price. I didn't hear back from her so I called her to follow up, she told told me she had the drawings ready and she would try to get with me within the next 2 weeks or so. I never heard from her and never received any follow up. Now typically this is where I would call it quits with a vendor/contractor. If I'm a prospective client and you can't simply do what you say you will do then you definitely won't follow through if I do give you this business. Against my better judgement I called her back in October and told her that she never got back with me about the drawings and that I would also like to get a quote to clean up my flower beds and plant some seasonal color. She told me she come by on that Friday of the week we spoke. Friday rolled around and it was pouring rain, I knew she wouldn't be able to view the area I needed cleaning up but instead of doing the right thing and calling me to let me know she wasn't coming out she just chose to not call me at all. By Tuesday I still didn't hear anything from her so I emailed her and said I didn't appreciate for the lack of communication and that I was already giving her a second chance since she did the same thing back in the spring. She emailed back and said "I can come by tomorrow, let me know if that works" no apology, no acknolegement that she hadn't follow through just I can be out there tomorrow. I decided to give Gerick Schraub the owner of Green Earth Services a call to let him know I wasn't please with the way his sales rep lacked follow-up and told him "I'm willing to give you a third chance but I only want to deal with you, I don't want to deal with any more of your reps" I didn't get the impression from him that he really cared about coming to my house to show me the original plans and give me a quote for additional work. He responded in a very careless attitude and said "well what do you need done we are running about 3 weeks behind". We scheduled an appointment for 11-6-2015 at 1:30. He call me a little after 1:30 to tell me he was running late. When you already late and you call to say your late, that is completely pointless to me, no respect for punctuality. He showed up didn't apologize for being late as if it was just what ever. He showed me the plans that Susan drew up in the Spring, gave me the plans and gave me the price. I asked him to get me a quote to re-mulch my flower beds and plant season flowers, the same thing I was trying to meet with Susan about in October. He left my house and said he would email me a quote the following week. That was a month ago and I haven't heard a single thing from him or his company. Maybe he is too big to care about getting new customers. My neighbors and I always share the good and bad stories about contractors and vendors we use. We all use the same lawn mowing service, the same house cleaner, etc. I can assure you I will never do business with this company and I will let my friends and neighbors know the poor level of service I received. There are many landscaping companies out there that would love to have a new customer and earn the business, Green Earth Services is NOT one of those companies.

I used Angie's List to research the Holiday Decorating section for companies which hang roof lighting and chose three to interview. One never responded and the other had similar prices, but we were impressed with Gerick Schraub's expertise and presentation. Gerick answered all our questions about type of lighting, bulb size, and energy usage. We had also received a mailer with his coupon which he honored for a $45 price reduction. Energy savings from switching to LED will help pay for the new lights. After a couple last minute appointment changes caused by other customers, he and his crew showed up when promised and completed all work in one morning. Light strings were cut to fit our roof and, when tested, every bulb shone brightly. We originally ordred a 48 inch green wreath with clear bulbs, but found it was too bright when we tested it at night. Gerick was totally cool about exchanging it the next day for a green wreath with green bulbs at no additional charge. We have outlets under our eaves so there are no messy timers, extension cords or other paraphanalia plus the wreath tied directly into the lighting string, avoiding the need for any extension cord for it. We could not be happier with the quality, timeliness or responsiveness of this firm - and we can hardly wait until Thanksgiving night to turn on the lights! We expect to use Green Earth to hang our lights in future years (cost will be less now that we have the lights) and we expect to give Green Earth the opportunity to bid on our landscaping needs.
