A 1 Fence & Welding

A 1 Fence & Welding did a great job! They started the project on time, as promised, and completed on schedule. Quality of material and workmanship was first rate. The building crew was very polite and professional, They did a good job hauling the old fencing away and cleaning up the work site. The whole team went above and beyond, to ensure the project met our expectations.

Mr. Morgan came out in April and gave us an estimate. However, because they were booked several months out, we had to wait until July for the work to be done. Mr. Ramsey and crew came out and did the work in an outstanding and professional manner. What we appreciated most was Mr. Ramsey and crew took their time to make sure they provided quality work...and, they did! Unfortunately, they were one panel short of completing the work. Mr. Jerry and a crew member came out with the panel as soon as it arrived and installed it in and outstanding and professional manner. We are very pleased the quality work and professionalism of the company. Kudos!!!

I am going to use them again in the future to fence the rest of my yard.

I was very happy with the job results. The fence had "no climb" animal wire attached, old flaking paint, and rust showing on much of it. On 5/13/17, Mr. Ronnie Morgan, of A1 Fence, and Mr. Jim Key, of All American Stain & Deck, out of Harker Heights, came to meet with me at my place, preview the job, and give me a cost quote. We came to terms. I agreed to take down and reinstall the animal wire myself in order to keep my cost down, and allow for a better paint job on the pipes.. They scheduled the job start for 6/20/17. Mr. Key and his crew of 3 worked on the fence for 3 full days. They used wires brushes and other means to get the pipes to a paintable surface, they primed as needed, and they used a professional grade Rustoleum white paint on the pipes. They did a great job, the finished fence looks great, and there were no adverse issues. I am happy to recommend both A1 Fence and All American Stain and Deck.

The team from A-1 were very professional and cordial. Additionally, they were very responsive to my (customer) questions. They had an excellent work ethic (not leaving until they completed the planned job of the day), and had the knowledge and skills to ensure the completed project met my quality standards.

His crew came in laid the faoundation and let it stand for 24 hours and was back to put up fence

I had a metal fence put in to replace a broke down cedar fence. I must say the fence is gorgeous. It isn't going anywhere. The quality of the work is also excellent. This company is wonderful. They come in and get to work and you can tell they want to do a good job. They want you to be happy with the final product. I was disappointed in a few things. Had it been a rating by stars, I would've taken a star away. First off, I was told someone would use a magnet to pick up the metal pieces left around the yard. No one removed the metal. I actually borrowed my dad's magnet and picked up quite a bit. I have four dogs, and that was a concern for me. Secondly, I requested all the clay be removed and not thrown on the grass. I actually reminded Ronnie, the owner, and was assured it would be removed. They packed it **** ** my grass. That is a huge problem for me. I had literally pulled all the weeds out for days, by hand, because I was going to put down grass plugs and sod. No way any grass is going to grow there now. I actually just bought a tiller and hired a friend to help me break up that **** clay to see if the sod and plugs will grow. I'm actually pretty angry about the clay. I had dirt and was intent on having nice zoysia grass growing but now I don't know what's going to happen. Thirdly, one of the employees was extremely standoffish. He is not at all interested in satisfying the customer. He wants to do things how he wants to do them and that is it. And fourthly, I had one of my neighbors constantly complaining about the fence coming down. It was on the property line and even though it was literally falling apart, she wanted it left standing because I was putting up metal. A1 fence should've found the metal pins in the ground and built along that line. I didn't have any of my neighbors pay a dime but A1 fence told me, after the fact, that they ensured the posts were on MY property and not on the line. That means her yard was enlarged. Granted it's only a few inches. But why give a ******* more yard. Ensure it's on the property line because that is how shared fencing is supposed to be. I'm the one that paid for it so it's what I say that should go. Now she wants a metal fence. Am I supposed to let her use my posts and let her continue to have more yardage? The fence is sturdy and well crafted. The welding was done well. The gates are well built. The only problem with them, is they are not low to the ground. I was worried, at first, that my dogs could crouch under or dig their way out. They can't. If I were to get a puppy, it would. Also, the gates open in. I was used to them opening out with the old fence. It doesn't bother me, I just wanted you to be aware. I had four gates put in. They were kind enough to find a way to cut doggie doors into two because that's how the old ones were. It took some thinking but they were able to get it done. The white is put to face in, so if you have the pretty side of the fence on the inside, it's not aesthetically correct. All in all, A1 Fence is a good company. I'd use them again and I'd recommend them to anyone in need of a fence. I'd just ensure that everyone is on the same page, not just the boss. He doesn't stay at the site long. This is an UPDATE to my previous review about a fence I had replaced on April 18. 2017. I addressed concerns in my previous review that were negative to the company. The owner called me to set up an appointment and came out to discuss my concerns. He looked at everything and came out today with a few people and took care of everything I had felt negatively about. They took care of the mud, the concrete on the house, and brought out their industrial magnet and went around the entire yard to remove whatever metal remnants were left. I am told my fence is in MY property line now because it is MY fence. I'm good with that. And the person I found rude is simply stand offish and not a people person. He concentrates on doing an excellent job for the client and honestly, how can anyone find anything wrong with that. A 1 Fence and Welding is an excellent company of whom the people pride themselves on providing you with the best quality fence. They build these fences to last. I highly recommend them and have already been doing just that. This company is so good there is a wait of 8 to 10 weeks but let me tell you, it is worth the wait. The fence is done correctly the first time. Don't let the wait change your mind. Those that can build immediately, probably don't have any clients because they do lousy work. Put your trust in Ron and A1 fence and welding. He will do you right.

Since I am remote to the property I had to work with them and my property manager a little bit to understand what needed to be replaced and to make sure the original quote was accurate or not. Although wood prices went up during this process they honored the original quote as much as possible. As near as I can tell they did exactly what needed to be done in a quick amount of time.

I was delayed twice because of heavy rains and was very happy that they called me concerning this, as the concrete would need to set. They were nothing but professionals and always polite (and in a good mood, funny). They got with me to insure the fence line & gate placements were where I wanted them. They clean up each day and went out of there way to create a way to adjust my large gates if they ever start to get out of line. I highly recommend A-1. GREAT JOB!

We were on a waiting list for almost two months. That's how high the demand is for their services! We were informed of the start date and everything went extremely well. The workers were very professional, considerate, and did a fantastic job!! We are very pleased with the finished product and highly recommend A-1 Fencing!

We got off to a slow start due to the weather causing a couple of rain delays. However, once the weather permitted. They arrived early, removed the old fence, set the new poles and hauled away the old wooden fence. As agreed 4 days later they were back with a full 5 man crew and started working like a well oiled machine. They started at 0900 am and completed the job at 3:45 PM that same day. We love the fence. The quality was there, worker did a great job.

In 2014 there was a property line fence put up on my property by A-1 Fencing. A survey was done of my property along with the owner of A-1 Fencing coming out and looking at my property to indicate/determine where the fence would be placed. They were aware I had a sprinkler system and was told to build the fence outside of the sprinkler system. On last year I deployed and did not use my sprinkler system. This year I had my sprinkler system serviced and discovered one of the sprinkler heads was located outside my fence line. Once I discovered the problem I contacted A-1 fencing and I was told someone would call me back. I received a call back from A-1 stating there was nothing they could do to correct this problem. I explained that all of my other sprinkler heads were brought inside my fence line but the one in the left corner was left outside the fence line and I was told again there was nothing they could do about it. I think the customer service was poor due to the fact they were aware I had a sprinkler system and brought the other heads inside my fence line and left one outside my fence line. Not only is the sprinkler head outside the fence line I have a number of boards on my fence that are now bad due to the head being outside my fence line. As a business providing a service how do you not have anything to do with a sprinkler head being left outside of a fence your company installed while you ensured the other sprinkler heads were inside my fence line. The mere fact that it was not their problem bothers me and I will never use or recommend this company to any of my service members. A company that cannot accept responsibility can be dangers.

It was time to update our fence since the old one was not in good shape anymore. I checked Angie's List to make sure the company I chose was good. I called A-1 Fence & Welding Co. to schedule an appointment for an estimate. A few days later Ronnie came out and helped us decide what we wanted and needed. He was very nice, polite and patient ( we had a lot of questions) We got the estimate right away and within a week the crew came out and started tearing down the old fence and setting the poles. They came back 2 days later and finished the fence and gate. The crew was friendly and professional and did an awesome job. We are very happy with our new fence and it is looking awesome :-) Thank you for a great job :-)

A1 gave us a reasonable bid, and scheduled the service. A1 showed up 2 days early and began the work. The following day the work was completed early. The old fence was removed and the new fence was installed. The worksite was cleaned.

I found A-1 Fence and Welding on Angie's List in early April 15. I gave them a call and we set an appointment for Scott to make the hour drive to my place, check what I wanted done, and give me some cost information. I was agreeable with his input and after mulling it over a few days, we scheduled a date for him to come back and install my 2 swinging gates and all necessary equipment. Unfortunately, we had to reschedule the work a couple of times along the way because of all the heavy rain, including flood conditions, that occurred in central Texas over April, May and June 2015. But, that could not be helped given the unusually bad weather. In short, it took a little longer to finish my gates than originally planned, but Scott was good about staying in touch with me regarding his schedule, We finally finished the project mid July 2015, and I believe Scott, and A-1 Fence and Welding did a very good job for me. I will use A-1 again in the future if I have need for their services, and I am pleased to give them a most favorable recommendation.

The job required most of one week, but the removal of old fence and installation of new one went very smoothly.

I was extremely impressed with how quickly the company came out after my phone call to give me an estimate. Ronnie was the one who came out. He was professional, friendly, and I could tell he knew what he was talking about. We discussed what type of fence we wanted, what type of posts we wanted, and anything additional we wanted. My husband and I asked for a small "man-size" gate to be included in the back fence, in addition to the usual wide-swing gate in the front. We opted for steel posts this time, instead of wooden ones. Ronnie explained what type of wood they use, exactly how they would do the work, and what type of prep work they would do before actually installing the fence. There was a warped place in my neighbor's fence (our "inside" fence on one side) that Ronnie agreed to fix at no charge. When it came time to do the prep work of setting the posts, this place in our neighbor's fence took more work than anticipated, yet there was still no charge for it. I appreciated that his word was good, and he didn't come back and say, Oh, we need to charge you for that now. The crew also replaced nails with screws in my neighbor's fence on the other side of us where the boards were loose. Both days that the crew worked, on 4/13 to set the posts and 4/15 to build the fence, they were polite, professional, efficient, and communicative. I was able to ask questions without feeling like I was bothering them. My husband later checked the quality of their work and said it was excellent. Before the job was done, Ronnie showed up to make sure everything was being done properly. He instructed them on a few things before he left, and he also told them to have me walk around the fence with them when they were done and see if I was satisfied with the work. There were a few boards I had concerns about, and they promptly replaced them. I also asked them to do some detailed cleanup that had been overlooked, and it was immediately done. They left the job site very clean. I would not hesitate to use A-1 Fence and Welding Company again and to recommend them to others.

The poles were set and the cement allowed to dry. While at a doctors appointment for the wife, A1 Fencing and Welding was good enough to complete the job although they were unable to reach me. I appreciate the fine job they did and the fact that it was done a week before scheduled.
