Description of Work: Do's: Ask for specific details about the procedure. Make sure you understand everything. Then ask for the estimate. Review the estimate in detail. See that it is itemized and no "catch all" categories. Ask questions as necessary. The only foolish question is the one you don't ask. I was not at all familiar with Mold Remediation, so I not only read up on it in the Internet, but I questioned the appraiser while he was at my house.

Description of Work: Set up elaborate heavy plastic sheeting barriers between affected area and rest of house. Set up commercial air scrubbing machines throughout affected area to remove mold and chemicals.Performed thorough mold and chemical remediation - removed all carpet and padding in protective covers, in accordance with the most professional mold remediation guidelines, thoroughly cleaned and wiped all surfaces in upstairs: walls, ceilings, furniture , subfloor. Replaced part of the subfloor. Had a top quality subcontractor - not a carpet cleaning company but someone who only does duct cleaning/mold removal with high end commercial equipment - vacuum the ducts with a highly specialized machine which removed all particles and contaminants. After that procedure was finished and tested for effectiveness, they cleaned air conditioning/heating ducts and registers with mold and chemical removal agent. After everything was fully cleaned and tested to be free of mold and volatile organic chemicals, they worked with the carpet company who installed new padding and green carpet, to ensure a smooth and safe outcome.

Description of Work: In 11/09, they did remediation for a chemical spill caused by a previous carpet cleaner. It was a caustic chemical, and they were highly professional and effective in their work. They encased the area thoroughly in a heavy plastic tenting, removed the carpet and disposed of it in a sealed bag, throroughly washed the walls, ceiling and furniture in all of our upstairs rooms with a strong but nontoxic disinfectant and cleaned the upstairs ducts as well, using a man who specialized in remediation and uses the most advanced equipment. Throughout the process they used high end air cleaners and at my request they also used an ozone machine to purify the air. A few months later we had them out to clean our carpeting in another area of the house, knowing that they used only nontoxic substances.
