 + -1 moreThe whole experience was a positive. I was concerned that the door broke a little over a month after the initial repair which I expressed to Brendan when I called on 10/6/12. He assured me that the work was covered and they would not charge me again for repairs on the same door. Whether the first repair had caused the problem or not, I really don't know. I think that the door is really heavy and maybe should have had more support bars when it was installed by the builder. They stood by their commitment and didn't charge any fee even though John spent so much time at the house. It was a Saturday night and he just wanted to make sure everything was fixed before he left - regardless of the time of night.
Description of Work: I called Family Christian Doors after reading their reviews on Angie's List. I had a broken spring on my double garage door and could not open the door. My vehicles were stuck in the garage which I told the company when I called. They arrived within 2 hours of my phone call and replaced the spring on the garage door. They cleaned up after themselves and everything was great. 10/6/12 I called a second time because the cable on the same door came undone from the door. I called and spoke to Brendan who was very concerned and insisted that he would send someone out within a couple hours. About 15 minutes after my call, John called and said that he was close by and would come over right away. He spent two hours repairing the door and went over and above just repairing the cable. He realigned the whole door and explained why the cable had come off. He was a perfectionist and explained that this door originally installed by the builder was a lower grade door and would eventually malfunction and need to be replaced. He spent two hours making the door work and even did not charge even a service charge for his repairs. They stand behind their work and want the customer to be happy. If we decide to replace the garage door, we will definitely be using Family Christian Doors because of the their professionalism, honesty, promptness and concern for their customers. I would recommend them to anyone and even sent John to look at my next door neighbor's door when he finished with my repair.

Description of Work: They installed a new seal on the bottom of my garage door and a threshold on the floor. They also had to do custom metal work on the bottom of my door because my floor was uneven. I am very pleased with the work and would recommend them highly.

I really don’t have any baseline to measure their pricing against. I thought the price was a little high; they quoted the price to me before they did the work, so it was okay with me.

 + -1 moreThe technician was fantastic. He arrive a little early and I was not home from the car dealership. He viewed door with nanny and called with suggestions. Then when my husband and I were determining what repairs to make, he chatted and colored with our daughter (sitter was with them). Then he made repairs. Technician was knowledgeable and super friendly and patient. It was great experience!
Description of Work: Serviced two garage doors. Added a missing strut on single garage door. Replaced wheels on second garage door to actually rolling wheels that were commercial grade due to weight of our particular double garage door.

 + -1 moreI called the technician a couple of times to ask questions and didn't get a call back. When I called the third time I expressed my concern and the person answering the phone was very nice and I got a call back immediately. I spoke with the technician on the phone for about 10 minutes asking questions. Then about 2 hours later he calls me and is following up on our estimate, not even realizing he had just spoke to me a couple of hours before. For some reason this set with me wrong, just a mistake on his part but regardless just bothered me.
Description of Work: Just had them come out for an estimate. I was wanting cedar doors to replace the typical steel doors builders put in. The technician gave us a bid on solid wood doors which were extremely expensive. I found another company that offered a cedar door that had cedar mounted on front and was steel on the back for 1/3 of the price.

 + -1 moreGreat customer service and same day service. Every time there was an garage door issue they were there that day. That was very helpful since I am pregnant and my husband was out of town. Our garage door opener and door died a slow death so it took a few visits, at our request to try to minimize cost, to do the complete overhaul. Their prices were fair and the workmanship was great. I would recommend them.

They called me on day of service to confirm appointment time, installers called me when they were enroute to my house. Installers arrived on time. He worked quickly, had materials and parts needed with him. Was able to use credit card electronically thru his phone. Tech was in and out with minimal fuss, & left things cleaned up. Definitely use again.

 + -1 moreWe have two garage doors each with a separate opener. Both were old and has been having problems for some time. I obtained Family Christian name from Angie's and gave them a call. After explaining the situation, the bid of 687 00 seemed reasonable and they were able to come out the same day? The technicians came out within the time frame that was agreed upon. It was late afternoon, and the heat was crazy but they went to work and within the hour had the old openers down and the new ones in place. The operation of the new openrs was demonstrated as well as howard to operate a new keyless entry. The technician did provide a comment that both our doors need a steal re- enforcement bar along the top of each door. I assume at one time the doors probably had the steal bar but it is a older house Nd the bars was missing. I talked to the tech about the condition of the doors. Apparently, they don't make out particular door anymore nor the parts to fix it. The steal bar would give extra strength to the integrity of the door and hopefully extend the time we can still use the doors. It might have been easier to seek two garage doors but I didn't get that impression at Ll with the suggestion of replacing the steal support. The tech agreed to come out and instal the bars a couple of days later Tis is the first and only company we called. The price seem fair, the techs were polite, professional. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company or use them again if needed

Description of Work: I first called them after seeing them listed on Angie's List because my garage door would not open and when it was closed, it wouldn't stay locked. I felt that someone could force it open and gain entry into my house and I was leaving for a three day trip, so time was a real issue. They came immediately and got the door working and secure temporarily. The problem was bigger and I didn't have time to address it until I returned from the trip. I called them again on my return and if I remember correctly, they had to replace the motor that operated the door. It's been a while so I'm not sure of all the details, but I do remember they were friendly, professional, seemed to really know what they were doing and advised me of a number of options. I have recommended them to several friends and would not hesitate to call them again if I needed their expertise.

 + -1 moreIt was a great experience! The two men called that morning to let me know they were on their way. The guys were polite and shook my hand upon meeting (very professional). All in all it took less than one hour for them to tear out my old garage door, install the new door, and for me to pay them. They hauled off all debris and the new installation went smoothly. The only negative I would mentioned is for the price this door did not come with an exterior lock (only locks from inside). We were okay with this as it is probably more secure but this was one of those items I didn't think to ask about as I thought it came standard. Warranty plan was also good. I would recommend and use them again if needed. Great job FCD!
