Family Christian Doors

I called Family Christian the same morning the garage door broke at 8am. They have a service technician, Josh, come out and provide a full replacement of the door. He arrived promptly at 10am, the same day I called. Quick service! Josh explained the work that he would complete and finished in approximately 1.5 hours. At the end of the replacement, he explained how to best maintain the door and even provided the remaining can of garage door lubricant to keep the door in tip top shape. Overall I would definitely recommend FCD. They have a great warranty and great people. The only bad thing is that they only install garage doors. I would love to hire them for something else!

My 16' aluminum door was not opening correctly. I found Family Christian Doors on Angie's List. I called and requested FCD to come and provide an estimate. Joe, their technician, arrived on time. After evaluating the door he determined that the spring needed to be replaced. He also suggested that I convert the door from a single spring to a dual spring, and explained the benefits of the change. And he suggested I replace the rollers as some of them had flat spots. He was courteous and professional. He had all the parts needed so began work immediately. He had a well equipped and organized tool kit. He had to do the work in a very tight space because of items stored in the garage. He was very careful and completed the work in a professional manner. He converted the door to a dual spring, replaced the door rollers, applied spray lubricant to all the moving parts, and made an adjustment to the door opener. After he was all done, the door opens MUCH quieter and I couldn't be happier with the finished job. I called his office to thank him. Thanks Joe and Family Christian Doors.

I contacted Family Christian Doors via the contact form on their website and received a call back the same day. Joe was very helpful in determining the type and color of the doors that I wanted. This was done via e mail and telephone In that I sent photos of the existing doors and color of the siding that we wanted to try to match and Joe called with recommendations. The doors needed to be ordered. Promised time was 3 to 4 weeks but they in fact arrived in 15 days. The morning that they arrived, I received a call to schedule the installation that afternoon. The installers arrived at the appointed time and completed the removal of the old doors and installation of the new doors in just over two hours. The existing openers were not replaced as they are functioning fine. Both men were very polite and obviously were well experienced. The site was left clean - all debris was removed. While the color is not exact, it is close and certainly looks much better than the stark white of the original doors. The installation is very professional and we are pleased with both the appearance operation of the new doors.

Everything went perfectly from start to finish. When I first called because one of the doors in our 4 car garage would not open and close properly, they gave me several tips on things to try that might fix the problem. How many companies will do that? I tried the tips but still had issues so we scheduled a service call. I told the technician who came to our house that I appreciated their attempt to help me avoid a service call and he said they always try to help people out that way. During the service I asked the technician about insulation for the metal doors, something my husband had mentioned he wanted to get done. We also discussed the fact that "builder grade" fittings aren't the best and that we were interested in upgrading them to safer, sturdier ones. The technician repaired our initial problem and said he would get a price quote on the other items which he did. FCD performed that work quickly and professionally. We've been pleased with the results and highly recommend this company.

It was easy talking to Joe, the customer service rep, about what we would need for a rental property of ours. Scheduling went well, and they came out within two days of my initial call. My husband said that the service guys did good work and even pointed out something else (unrelated to their area of expertise) that we should repair in the garage. The only issue we had is that they were late and did not call to let us know, we had to contact them to get more information. Still, they arrived at the new estimated time and worked quickly and well. We would use them again.

I called on a Friday...they showed up on time Saturday...surveyed the situation...gave me options...installed whole new unit and then showed us how to use everything ...all in slightly more than 2 hours! Came recommended ... and would recommend myself.

I called FCD and they were very nice and informative, but were not pushy at all. They explained in detail their products and everything that would be done. I had called other places and FCD had comparable and even lower prices than quite a few. After getting all of my estimates I decided to go with FCD. I really liked how they were so helpful, not pushy, and good prices. They offered to come out the next day but I was busy so I made it for the next available date. They called me before they came out and told me approximately how long it would take them to get to my house. They were very true to the time they had given me. The main technician that came out was Alfonso. There was another technician that introduced himself, but I do not remember his name. They were super friendly and I couldn't believe how quickly they got the job done. They did a fantastic job and it looks great. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone for their garage door needs.

After fixing the door, he recommended replacing several gears that were worn out. He showed me how the drive chain was hanging down, instead of being more taut. There were no hard sells, but he told me the cost of replacing and of an entire new system. The new system was only a bit more, so I opted for a new system, which came with a new wall control panel, and a external keypad, and two remotes. It only took roughly an hour for the install. I am very pleased with there service.

I had a vehicle do damage to one of the two garage doors. the center post was damaged extensively. There was even some brick damage to other side of garage. I called FCD on 2/20 and Joe sent Alfonso to give me an estimate. Alfonso responded quickly, did the estimate and told me that even though FCD's does not do brick work, he had a buddy who could do it. Later that afternoon, Joe called me back with the estimate and even included the brick work on the estimate. This made it very convenient for me. I hired FCD and Alfonso showed up on time the next day (2/21). We had decided to switch from two door to a single door. Alfonso got to work immediately, and the job was finished, brick work and all by that afternoon. They did a beautiful job! The estimate was a little high, in my opinion, however, Joe and Alfonso were so helpful and quick to get the work done, that I do not regret hiring them. They got the job done in the time frame promised and I would not hesitate to refer FCD to family and friends.

Came the same day- very professional. Willing to just service what I had I asked to just replace it all.

I called Family Christian Doors for an estimate after reading their reviews. The whole experience was very professional but friendly, from first call to completion of the job. Everyone I talked to at their office or the technician doing the work were friendly, helpfull and professional. Like others have said, the whole experience was a positive one. I know I didn't spend a king's ransom, but I feel they would treat all customers with the same respect. I would be happy to point anyone needing garage work to them. I feel that I got my monies worth and some. If you are like me, you take reviews with a grain of salt. I moved here from Chicago and I might have a diffrent take on how a business should run. I have had to use a few companies since I have been here that lacked professionalism. So, if my review is worth anything, rest assured they do "try" to live up to their high ratings. I say try, only because everyone and every company has the occasional bad hair day. ;-)

Our garage door had developed a mind of its own (deciding where it would stop/start). I called FCD at 8:15 a.m.; an appointment was made for between 10:00 and noon. Chris called a little before 10:00 to say he was on the way. Upon arrival, Chris immediately set to work - assessing the situation, then proceeding with the necessary work. He was polite, efficient and patient. We now have a very well-mannered garage door - it does just what it's told!

Went very well. They were prompt, courteous, professional, and came the day I asked. Couldn't have asked for more.

The workman arrived on time and was professional. He did exactly what he said he would do and we've never had an issue with the system to date.

Called a couple of garage door companies and could not get scheduled before the next day. Since one of the springs was broken rendering the door inoperable I really wanted it fixed today. When I called FDC they got a technician out to my house in just a couple of hours. He was on time and professional. The price was fair and the work was done promptly and well. I was pleased to receive a 5% senior citizen discount. Love Angies List contractors!

Overall experience was great. Spoke to "Joe" who scheduled a free estimate. "John" showed up as scheduled. He was courteous and listened to what we had in mind...patiently. He measured the premises and gave an estimate (i.e., total cost and estimated time for completion). He stated he?ll provide 2 remotes that are for the gate as well as the garage door. That was great news as we did not want to install a brand new motor/unit. The estimate was itemized which we appreciated because other companies would gave vague estimate without specifics. We have not had the gate installed due to an unforeseen foundation problem that we encountered soon after I spoke to John. Nevertheless, FCD will definitely be our choice for gate as soon as our foundation is repaired.

I called at 11:30 am to see about getting a quote. I was told someone could be at my house between noon and 2 pm the same day. Two young men showed up on time looked at the door, and in addition to replacing the spring, recommended replacing the rollers and garage door opener. The reasons they gave for the additional work made sense to I agreed to have them do the job. They had all the parts and necessary tools on the truck and completed all of the work within 90 minutes. Both men were very professional in communicating the work they were going to do and then got it done. I went from wanting a quote at 11:30 am to getting all of the work done by 3pm the same day. While the price was on the "high" side, I felt the professionalism, and the exceptional work quality made it worth the investment. I will highly recommend this company to anyone.

Very professional over the phone with the phone. Tech arrived on time and was polite and professional. Work was completed in a timely manor. What a great experience. We will call them when we need them again.

He actually improved on the way the new opener was installed versus the old one by not using heavy items that were unnecessary from the previous install and making the system more efficient.

I accidentally backed my SUV into my garage door and pulled it off track. I also had to disconnect one of the door cables because it was completely tangled. I called Family Christian Doors around 7:45 AM Monday morning and they were able to get a technician dispatched to my home before 10 AM. The technician, Chris, was very knowledgeable, professional, and polite. Not only did he put the door back on track in no time, but he also showed me how I could do it myself if something like this happened again. He also adjusted my door opener because it was pulling the door back too much. The he lubricated all the rollers, joints, and other moving parts. Now my door is opening much smoother and making less noise than before. Chris also gave me several tips on how to maintain my garage door to ensure its proper operation. I am very happy that I called Family Christian Doors to get my garage doors fixed. I feel they performed a great and high quality job with an excellent customer service. I definitely recommend them to anyone who needs their garage doors repaired or tuned.

The experience was great! I had used Family Christian Doors a couple years ago when the spring broke in the garage door. They did an excellent job then, so naturally I called them to replace our broken garage door opener. When I logged onto Angieslist and found Family Christian Door, I was pleased to see a couple for $350 (tax included) for the opener I wanted. All it took was one call and the person I spoke with walked me thru how it would go. If I would have been able to have the work done that same day, they would have been able to do it. But I couldn't so they came the next day. From the time our guy arrived to finish time, it only took about an hour. He walked me thru how to operate the opener. It was a great experienced and I would highly recommend them.

It went well. They were on time, friendly, and very helpful. The garage door was excellent, but they did have to replace a few boards on the fence. They did this without question.

They were very responsive and great to work with. We actually used them after they installed a family member's garage opener. We called and had no problems scheduling an appointment, but the original appointment go mixed up somehow. They were able to reschedule and come back within a few days and were punctual. Installation was quick. There was an issue with the power coming to the garage opener that was intermittent - it would only happen occasionally, but they came back within a day and were able to fix it with a new surge protector. Overall, very professional, polite, and easy to work with. Highly recommend.

Chris called to tell me he was on his way about 15 minutes before arriving. I explained the problem and he knew immediately what it was. He told me he could not charge me anything since he was just going to tighten something within the system. He fully explained the issue to me and also again to my husband, and told us that our door overall was fine and did not need any work. We finally talked him into giving us a tune up so that we could pay him something! VERY very good service. It took less than 30 minutes overall and when I thanked him for not making me feel like I had been ripped off (something I experience occasionally with other repair companies) he told me that we are all given grace for free so it wouldn't be right to overcharge. I have never had a repair done where I want to go out and be a better person afterward, but that is exactly how I felt this morning. HIGHLY recommend this company!

Asked for an estimate on two entry 16ft iron gates for two residential driveways. Showed up on time (John) on 10/4. He told me to expect a bid by the 5th, 8th at latest. Calls me while driving on his cell on the 10th that the cost is $5,000 each. I told him the costs were high and asked was he reluctant to bid because of my location (17 mi) away. He said no, so I asked to comeback with a bid for both in the $6,000 range. He said he would draw something up, email me the plans and then we could discuss by phone. He never has contacted me back as of 10/25, so I went with another contractor.
