Our door broke this afternoon and they were able to send out aa technician the same day. He even arrived 30 minutes prior to the two hour window. He replaced the main spring and also noticed that the steel cables on each side were splitting. After this, he tuned up the door so that it closed better.Main spring

Tech adjusted the electric eyes for the opener and refused any payment as he said he did not do any work. Only asked that we use him in the future for other problems.

Special order 17' insulated steel double door. Installation went well with one exception--one end did not fit properly as I discovered when major sunlight came streaming through one end as I walked into the garage from inside. Called for appointment to fix. Appointment made. They failed to show up for the appointment. Called and someone was sent right away. Was told that someone changed the time to 10-12 AM vs 8-10 AM. Only problem was whoever did that apparently told no one! Little consideration for the customer here particularly if someone has to take off from work! Problem was not fixed but essentially covered up with vinyl trim. Since the door worked properly and the 2-inch gap was covered up, I reluctantly agreed. Overall it was a rather impersonal experience. The door is beautiful, works fine even though it doesn't quite fit snugly against the door jamb on one side. When you spend over $2000 for a garage door, you expect everything to be perfect. It wasn't. And then there was this--once the door was ordered, I got an, "Oh by the way, we have to charge you $50 extra to dispose of your old wooden garage door". I thought that was just a tad tacky to say the least! For those of you who are senior citizens, they have a 5% discount. They will not let you know about this--you have to ask for it.

Could not have asked for a better experience

Great experience. Our garage door opener had started sounding incredibly loud so we purchased a tune-up from an Angie's list deal. Family Christian Door came out and indicated the motor was probably about to die. I didn't want to risk not having the opener available so I opted to replace the unit, but I did not feel pressured to do so at all. The repairman was super nice and efficient. He deducted the pre-paid tune-up price from the cost of the new unit install. He also oiled and tightened the garage door itself, and the whole unit was sounding a lot better when he left. Great company to work with.

Horribly. First thing technician Matt wanted to do was replace springs. Perhaps caused motor capacitor to burn out by testing opening and closing of door before any lubrication was done to the door. He wanted us to replace the springs and opener. I refused and asked him to just lubricate all moving parts on door and opener, as listed in the Angies List special deal I purchased. He did finally do that (which he should have done first!!!) and said there was nothing more he could do unless he replaced springs and opener. He never performed the 21 point safety inspection. He then left. I went to Overhead Door and purchased and then I installed a new motor capacitor and re-adjusted the safe-t-reverse in the opener and safety checked everything myself. In my opinion, all that may have been needed was lubrication. Instead he wanted to replace parts that didn't need replacing. A common bait and switch which I did not expect from a highly rated Angies list provider. Matt was polite and respectful, however he needs training with a knowledgeable and experienced garage door technician before the company sends him out alone. Or is this how your people are trained, to just run up the bill and make money???

Family Christian Doors sent a knowledgeable technician quickly. He recommended replacing the springs, which he did. He also adjusted the rollers to insure the door rolled smoothly. My only concern was that the new springs are the same "strength" as the old ones; could he have gotten the same effect by simply tightening the existing springs (at lower cost)? Perhaps he was concerned that the old springs might break.

Super service, Super deal! Bino, the technician, arrived on time and quickly identified the cause of “binding problems and correctly adjusted the door and installed new nylon rollers. He then lubricated the door including the springs. Bino also gave me tips on how to maintain the door with the proper lubricant. (Takes about 2 minutes a year.) Finally, Bino advised that the cable drums would eventually need replacement but that they were OK for now. My garage door now opens and closes more smoothly and quieter than it has for years. I am completely satisfied with the service provided by FamilyChristianDoor and will definitely use them for future garage door problems. Bottom Line - I got a fantastic deal for my $99!

The technician, Steven, called right away, came to the house and had the garage up and running again within 2 hours from the time I called the company. Steven went above and beyond for the services he provided. He was kind, sincere, and I felt like he treated me with honesty and respect like he would his own family member. I wholeheartedly recommend this company and Steven as a technician.

They replaced two old springs with one single center spring, replace all the rollers and also tightened the door bolts. They also lubricated the spring, rollers & tightened the door bolts on the other garage door. I would hire them again.

I couldn't have been happier with the service provided by Asa. He was timely, courteous and efficient. He was very thorough and didn't try to oversell. When we need new doors or any other service on our current doors/openers, we will definitely be calling this business.

The day started with our garage door not opening. My husband determined that it’s probably a broken spring before he headed off to work. I called Family Christian Doors and they gave me a 2 hour window for their technician to show up. I received a phone call from Bino 20 minutes later letting me know that he’s on his way. After analyzing the problem Bino said that other than a broken left spring the rest of the garage door looks good. I approved the replacement and he went to work getting it done. He also lubed all the hinges on the door and gave me some tips on garage door maintenance. I was glad that no other work was necessary and thankful that Bino did just what was needed to get my garage door working again.

excellent front office making service time earlier . The worker is courtesy and before doing a complete 21 inspection as advertised , with a quick look and cited danger of the current spring recommended a torsion spring conversion and new rollers for $385. Concerning for safety of my daughter room right behind, I was about OK but would like to checkout his work first of small job before committed to big job . He lowered to $250. Again i would like the see his work tuneup first. He swung into action tightened the chain, tighten couple bracket bolt with his drill and spray lubricants on only one roller. Work done in less than 5 min and writing bill taking more time than doing service . I asked for balance the door he told me to adjust myself the springs. It make sense, you got what you pay for!

Very in-your-face up-selling pitch. Did not provide a good breakdown of parts and labor. When I went back to check, was already in the truck and not really working.

When I called them, they quoted a price and we scheduled the installation to start between 10 and 12 the next day. They showed up at 10 and were done by 11:30 (including cleanup). Excellent job.

Great! He replaced the rollers. He was friendly, timely, worked quickly, personally, and more. They gladly accepted my Groupon.
