Family Christian Doors

We made the call to Family Christian because our garage door would not open or close all the way. We have to use that entrance right now because of injuries and can not use our front door because of the steps. Andrew answered the call and within the hour we had Louis at our home to fix our door. He was courteous and very knowledgeable. He fixed our door which made us very happy. It was working and was quieter than it had ever been in just an hour. We will absolutely refer their services to anyone needing any garage door repair.

He arrived early and called to let me know if that was okay. That was fine. He met me at the front door and was polite. He knew which offer I had purchased and immediately was upselling me on the wireless keypad which I did not need. for an added cost Before he looked at the garage door, he asked me the age of the home. That set off alarm bells. I told Matt and he then tried to tell me that I need a double spring replacement before my garage door springs break. He has not even look at the condition of the spring to know if a replacement is needed. Since I rarely use my garage door then I know the wear and tear should last longer. I also owned a former home and I am an engineer so I know maintenance issues. He was using the poor little lady runaround. He did perform the service request. but he provided so many upsells including a new garage door opener that I am turned off from using the company. I did see the capacitor leaking but I will shop another company for that replacement.

We wanted to get our Garage door check up done. These guys were very professional. Not only did they tune up the garage door they even ended up fixing a door sensor that wasn't functioning properly!

It went fine. They were here about a month ago. There were no additional costs. It was a quick service. He greased the garage door. He told me how to care and maintain the door, it was like a 15 minute visit. I think he did good.

They came out the day after I called and did everything necessary to get our door back operational. Nice guys!

From the first phone call to the last, this company was a pleasure to deal with. They were able to accommodate us with a fast turn around. Tyler was prompt on the date/time we approved and did the work quickly and professionally and then took the time to explain all that he had done, the warranty, etc. A month or so later, I called them to ask about comments noted in a home inspector's report regarding the garage door sensors and button in the garage. I asked to speak with a manager and my call was quickly returned. He agreed to have Tyler come back out to review the system and the inspectors notes. Bottom line, the inspector was incorrect on several items and Tyler took the time to confirm the correct information under city code made a few adjustments just to make the inspector "happy." Given this, Christian Family Doors went above and beyond to help us. I would highly recommend.

I can't say enough good things about this company! The price was right. The technician Fidel was right on time. He was courteous and efficient. I would certainly use these folks again!

Everything was great with the service they provided, but a few days after they had done the work one of the doors would intermittently not close properly, and would return to the open position as if it was hitting an obstruction. After a couple of weeks of "fixing" the problem myself, I eventually called them back, and they trouble shot everything that normally causes this sort issue. They swapped the sensor positions, made sure the door panels were not dragging against the door jamb, and a couple of other things as well. Since they could not find a conclusive reason for the problem, and the door was working just fine they left advising me to call them back if it happened again. There was no charge for the return call, and they were there for over an hour working on the problem. These guys are excellent and I would highly recommend them for installations, or service on your garage doors.

Their scheduling, communication to clients regarding appointment handling is terrible. They arrived outside (late) the window time frame. They told me they would arrive between 2-4pm. I purposely took time off of work to be home for this and called as I was leaving to let them know my ETA. They informed me the timing was perfect since they would arrive around the same time I would (approx 2:30-3); however, after 3p I called back to see and they said they were on their way. Close to 4p I called back to find out they were not close to coming by and asked if I wanted to reschedule since I informed them I needed to leave by 5:30pm. I refused to reschedule since this would require another day off. They eventually came close to 4:30p to do the garage tune-up. Their lack of honest communication was very frustrating. Not to mention, I received a call earlier that day with incorrect appointment time. When I inquired about this, they were "trying to reschedule me for an earlier time" however, I could not take that time frame since I arranged my work to be off after 2p due to the time I schedueld with them. I think their office is not organized or handle proper and correct communication. The gentleman who arrived was very knowledgeable and professional. The work performed was done well and I was satisfied with their service; however, due to their office person handling the communication and scheduling, I will not be using them.

Made an initial repair thinking the issue was resolved. I was warned that the unit might need to be replaced. Had to call them back as the issue resurfaced later the same day. They came back out first thing the next morning and installed a new Chamberlain opener. Were thorough, professional and cleaned up after they were through. This is the second time I have used them and I would recommend them to anyone. Last week I saw they were at my neighbor's house, who did not even solicit my opinion!

Bought the door ($3,249) in November of 2010. More than 5 1/2 years with no problems. If you had asked me prior to this service experience I would have given them straight A's. I did need some minor work done. That is to be expected that some minor maintenance might be needed in a 5 - 6 year period. I just wish my experience with the maintenance had been remotely close to the experience putting the door in. Door would not go down. Called to have them come out and work on it. The day after the technician left ($89), the door still would not come down. Life happens with kids schedules and graduations etc. so did not call them back the next day. The representative on the phone absolutely refused to fix the door without another service charge. I told them I was okay with paying for something else (say the safety eyes were going bad), but I was not okay with paying for the same service a 2nd time. This discussion (argument) went on back and forth for the better part of 10 minutes! Before this experience, I would have been a customer for life and had recommended them to others needing new doors. Now I'm looking for a new company to do business with.

The whole process was performed excellent. Technician Matthew did excellent job not only in work performed but the information he provided. Very professional from approach to finish. Will definitely be my provider in the future and will also comfortably refer to others.

Things went okay. When they originally replaced the door, I asked them to match it because it is part of a town house set, so all the exteriors are the same, and the door they had used to replace was different from the other door, so they had to do that. I would use them again.

I called up FCD after the spring on my garage door broke after seeing numerous great reviews. I called up and was able to schedule something the next day (that worked best for me). Chad and Anthony did a superb and fast job, pointing out and correcting a couple of other issues along the way. Both were friendly and professional. Items they pointed out were the need for a second spring. This didn't surprise me as I'd seen it recommended prior to me calling someone out. Also they showed me the warn down plastic rollers so I replaced those. They also identified one of the mounts that holds up the track from the ceiling and come unscrewed so they fixed that. I'd not had work done on this door in 15+ years so this was definitely welcome. I'd definitely recommend these guys for anyone needing service and will use them in the future if I need additional work done at some point.

Everything went very well. They were very professional, prompt and efficient.

Ty arrived on time. He walked me through the tune up service. At the end he explained a list of recommended repairs and pricing. While he was here, he reprogrammed a new garage door opener and my exterior key pad. Excellent service and I will definitely be using FCD going forward.

I don't remember being given a price before he finished and charged me, nor can I remember him asking if I wanted the repairs done. He may have asked, and I probably, foolishly, assumed that it was subsumed under the "tune up". However, I do remember being surprised that it ran to $400. I don't think that he consciously meant it as a scam. He acted the way that many of the better engineers I have known would act. He saw a problem, he fixed it. My rating is really less about Family Christian Doors than it is with Angie's List. It felt as though the $24 was really paying for someone to come over and make a sales pitch. The "tune up" article never properly described what work would come under those terms. For all intents and purposes, it was Angie's List that misled me to believe that I would receive something worthwhile. The door Did need repairing, and it Did get repaired. But, next time that I see any such "offer" on Angie's List, I will have gotten multiple estimates before taking up Angie's List on any such kind of sales pitch.

Second time I have used this vendor and they are always prompt, courteous and do good work. Will continue to use.

In addition to the work itself they provided a written evaluation of the quality of the doors themselves, and advised me where we might have our next issue with the doors.? Alex and Anthony were both very polite and professional, and the work was done at a very reasonable rate. I would definitely use these guys again.

Alex and Anthony called earlier than the appointed time and were here about 30 minutes later. Alex quickly assessed my problem was an issue with the sensors. He gave me a price and said he'd also look over the door hinges, springs, and rollers. He and Anthony did a great job and even gave me a discount for being a military veteran. They did an overall great job.
