The replacement of a broken old residential water well pump was done very professionally and courteously. We would happily use this company's services again in the future if needed. My elderly aunt's house has been vacant for several months. It is located in a rural area and relies on a 19 foot deep water well for its water supply. Three weeks ago when we checked on the house, there was only a trickle of water (today there was no water at all) coming from the faucets, but we were not in a position to address the problem then. My aunt had to return to her home on other business today, so two days ago, after consulting Angie's List for water well service companies in the area of the house, I contacted Fuller Water Well Service of Hallsville, Texas, to set up a diagnostic visit today. I told Mr. Fuller that we would only be in town this afternoon and would return at a future date for the repair to be performed. During the initial contact call two days ago he said he would see what he could do. He called yesterday evening to tell me that one of his work crews would come to the house this afternoon. They would try to come in the early afternoon as I requested, but had several other urgent, previously scheduled calls to complete, therefore he could not quarantee a specific service time other than sometime during the afternoon. Today Mr. Fuller contacted me by cell phone to confirm that we still needed his company's services, and gave me the cell phone number for the technician assigned to the job. I called the technician, who said they (he and a coworker) would be able to get to the house today, but not until later in the afternoon. After consulting my aunt, we decided to change our plans for an early return to my home 150 miles away, and agreed to wait until the late afternoon for the service call, still only expecting a diagnosis today. Janine and Jeremy, the technicians, arrived at the house at 4:00 p.m. They were tired and dirty from working on other water wells today, but were courteous and cheerful throughout the service call with us, efficient in the performance of the work, and demonstrated obvious technical expertise. They quickly determined that the old water well pump was irreparably broken, due to wear and tear, and would require replacement. To our pleased surprise, they offered to perform the work right then and there. They called their home office, located about 16 miles away, to get a price for the proposed project, and were told to charge $1100, which we agreed to, as this would eliminate the need to return another day (making a 300 mile round trip) to be at the house when the required work was actually done. They had the necessary pump and parts on their truck, and therefore were able to get right to work. The entire task of removing the old pump from the well and installing the new pump took about 2 1/2 hours. After finishing the work (well after dark) they even reminded us that the weather was forecast to get below freezing tomorrow, and that we needed to insulate the newly installed exposed piping to prevent a rupture by freezing, which we accomplished before leaving the area. They offered to bill us for payment later, but we were so pleased that everything was completed today that my aunt paid in full, $1100, by check. This company does not accept credit or debit card payments, only cash or checks. Arranging major residential service calls long distance is always uncertain, since you really have no way to check up on the companies you contact. A local plumber I called before calling Fuller explained that the problems I described sounded like a well problem, not a plumbing problem and suggested that I call Mr. Fuller for water well service. Thank you, Ledbetter Plumbing of Longview, Texas. Other than having to wait a little longer than we hoped for, this was an excellent residential service experience in every way. I am grateful that Fuller Water Well Service of Hallsville, Texas, was able to respond on such short notice, that the work was able to be completed in one visit, that the service crew was so friendly and pleasant with us, and that they were so competent. I highly recommend them as a company to depend on if you need water well service in the vicinity of Longview, Texas.
