It went well at the beginning but they became more hurried I assume because they had other work. The wooden gate had several pickets removed because it would no longer fit. He claimed it was because the wall was crooked. He came back to redo the gate and repair some cracks in the concrete. The gate was banging into the hardware and breaking, still crooked. Cracks appeared again in the concrete. So I called him several times and he said he would come back but didn t show. He texted me last week after he didn t show up to say he would be here today at 10:00 AM. He was not here at 10:00 so I texted him at 10:30. I told him he never contacted me to say he was not coming. He texted shortly thereafter and said he would be here today. He showed up at 11:55 and no apologies just asked me to show him what I was talking about. I started to tell him and he got defensive and said he told me the wall was crooked and that the cracks in the concrete were normal. He said that I was just nitpicking and he cursed me and I cursed back. He came back and got in my face. Telling me to repeat what I said and he cursed me and told me to get in the house. I felt threatened and so I walked away. He walked to his truck and in the middle of the street, he kept yelling F you, F you. He got in his truck finally and tore off.

Honest and up front. Called and came over for an inspection same day, great job rebuilding our chimney.

They did a great job repairing the cracks in the stucco on the chimney. Required a new chase top which they handmade. Explained what needed to be done and how they would repair it. Gave me a fair price and the chimney is now good as new. Wasn’t an easy job in the hot Texas sun. If you want it done right, call A-1 American Construction. Bill is a Marine Corps Vet. ?

I had a knocked over brick and mortar mailbox that needed replacing. Will was very professional and did a great job.

A-1 American Construction came through on my started project I could not finish. I should have hired A-1 to begin with. You should expect recommendations that make sense and ultimately enhance your vision. The team worked through the 100 degree plus heat index on time and within budget. Bonus was my wifeâ s seal of approval.

He installed a complicated flagstone walkway, on-time and on-budget. Always let me know when he was showing up. I appreciated the work and professionalism enough to ask him back out to do a different job.

The company did such an excellent job we have hired them to do other concrete related repairs around our home.

i previously reviewed this company and the work performed . it was not a good review since "Bill" tried to increase the repairs cost more than double the first estimate and was not successful even though he accepted my offer. when it was determined that existing brick was no longer available , i even offered to recover exiting brick and removing old mortar to make this repair esthetically feasable and more cost affective . .A formitable task on my part i might add. Since he was not interested in doing the repairs that he originally estimated , he presented me with an estimate well over 4 tiimes the first one. Following his demands for $12000 . We settled on $8000. I requested the mortar and concrete be similar to the remainder of the house. Results, , a stark contrast that is beyond duscussion. Afterward, he said he expected to be paid when he said he was finished. I was working on the other side of the city when he demanded to be paid though he was not finished . His definition of paid when finished is when he quits. he says he will come back later to finish the job and he threatens to put a lien on my residence.....a threat he must use often. i have never heard from him since. i did not refuse payment . i was nowhere near my residence and did not anticipate his demands since his assistant was still at my house working, A trip the following day to get paid was out of the question! I write this "review" based on his pathetic response to my first one. A BBB complaint will follow. Readers, look at review trends then draw your own conclusions,

Bill was very easy to work with. I appreciated his open communication. He did a great job and made sure everything was cleaned up when the job was done.

My review is similar to a previous one. Replace/repair brick retaining wall and front residential steps. i wanted the same materials or very similar to the brick and mortar originally used over 30 years ago. Bill was in favior of using flat stone instead. since the original brick was no longer available. . i volunteered a deposit Bill held for approx 5 months. The option of stone was not acceptable to me. i told him i would dismantle the landscaping wall and steps, remove old mortar and he could use the old brick. He acknoledged that option but raised the estimate to $12000, a serious upcharge from the less than $5000 estimate . Regretably we agreed to $8000. After working with an assistant for approx 3 weeks he said he wouid be finished within the following week . i agreed to the payment and asked him to let me know. i was at work some distance from my residence when he texted he wanted to be paid that afternoon. i could not get home quickly due to the distance away. Meanwhile, there was considerable mortar and brick trash still in my yard, equipment still there and flower bed edging completely ripped up. Agreed repairs to remaining walls in the front and rear of the house was not done. . He still insisted on being paid and he would return to complete repairs. He approached my wife who was not privy of the agreement and stated he wouid file a lien on my house for faiure to pay. There was no refusal to pay in spite of unfinished repairs . He stated he did not want to drive back the next day to pick up a check though he still had not finished agreed repairs. He became very agitated and threatened failure to pay actions. i stated there was no issue and a check wouid be ready later that day or the first of the next morning. i provided payment for the entire job the following morning but he did not pick it up until much later in spite of his demands . i have attemted contact to no avail. he does not return calls, emails or texts and has made no effort to finish his job as he stated. The quality of his work was good but his attitude was unjustified.

Bill did most of the work, before he finished he told me to pay him, he even threatened to put a lien on my property, I paid him and I never saw him again, he told me he would return on Monday and he always has excuses. I have called him several times and he does not answer the phone, he is not done with the work yet

A-1 American Construction rebuilt brick steps and rebuilt stonework on the front of my home. They were quick, the work was great, and price very reasonable. Would definitely use them again!

The owner raised the price at the middle of the job. Doubled it. Used the wrong grout color and lied about it getting a lighter color in a month. He was very dishonest!!!
