Attaining a design degree and having years of experience working as an Interior Design Assistant has greatly contributed to my natural ability to visualize and implement a successful plan to improve the function and flow of a space.
It is my goal to assist in creating a beautiful, sorted environment that brings serenity to people's lives.

Kat teaches a person what is and is not important in day to day living. We had a goal sharing session and she listened to what is important to me, and how I wanted my living area to look and function for a family Christmas gathering. She assigned me homework and reminded me that we could not move forward without my completion of the "homework." Between our 3 hour work sessions she encouraged me onward with e-mails. She is highly motivated, responsible, honest, organization-minded, creative and artistically minded woman. A very hard worker with her client's goals in mind. Highly recommend especially to those like me who cling to too many "things!"

She has come around three times so far and I will continue to use her. She charges $55 an hour for so many hours and then she reduces the price down to $51 and hour, and then she keeps reducing it the more hours you use her.
Description of Work: I have been using Simply Sorted by Kat and I am still using her services.

Kathryn has been wonderful from day one. This is the first time I have hired a professional organizer, but have thought about it MANY times and I'm glad I finally did. She immediately responded to my initial email (which was on a holiday, no less) to schedule a complimentary consultation. She talked with me about my needs and which areas were most important for me to organize. My family and I are currently renting a house for a year so I didn't want any organization systems that couldn't be transferred to my next house. She listened and took notes and set up a plan of action. She really works with your budget and keeps you posted on pricing and such. I asked her to assign homework for me to do so that I could do some things on my own to reduce my cost. It made me accountable too, knowing I had to have something ready before her next visit. She and I worked on my closet and paper filing and she was tireless (I needed several breaks). She spent about 7 hours with me one day. Not only is she a professional and kept the ball rolling (always was on task), but she's pleasant to be with. That's really important if you have to spend hours with a person! She's also non-judgmental but will give her opinion when asked. After she helped me organize my closet I just marveled at how beautiful it was. She bought some bins which saved me some time shopping. She also hauled off some items that I wanted to donate and sent me a tax receipt. I've tried organizing by myself, but she provides that extra incentive to keep working on each project and when it the task seems daunting it appears effortless for her. This is definitely her niche and she's good at it! I plan to use her services again after I move for some space planning and organizing at my new house in the next few months. Money well spent. She's wonderful!

The first meeting Kat and I had set the tone for the quality of service she provides. She started with my bathroom - coordinated every-thing into appropriate places. She organized everything into boxes, plastic containers, or other little plastic boxes with labels that she created, and made it all fit without being crowed or hidden. If you are a person whose storage space is limited, Kathryn is for you. From the bathroom, she moved to my drawers (dresser drawers, chest of drawers, additional cabinets for storage) and organized them just as precisely and she did the bathroom. At that point, I became SO convinced of her ability to MAKE SPACE WORK, I added more areas of my home that I wanted her to attack. There aren't words for what her efforts have transformed my living space into. I only hope that if you go look at "Simply Sorted" you can see just a bit of what Kathryn can do for you. She took my living/storage space and made it into the way I always envisioned it could be.
Description of Work: This is the first time I have been so compelled by the quality of service I have received by ANYONE that I am having to stop and write down the experience. Kathryn is a godsend. If you ever have had the thought that "if I could just get this space organized, I might be able to keep it nice and tidy" then you are looking for Kathryn. She is uber-professional, pleasant to work with and very flexible. This is the person you are looking for. She can take a look at your room/closet/drawers and know right away how to make everything work better for your own personal situation. If you are thinking that this is too good to be true, just give it a shot. I PROMISE you that this is the best there is, at any price.

I was desperate for help after moving to Dallas for a new job. I knew that I would have way more work to do than I could get done in a week and I really needed to be unpacked and organized quickly so I could start my new job without clutter and boxes lingering. I decided to search the internet for professional organizers. Kathryn's page caught my eye. I had never hired a professional organizer before so I wasn't really sure what to expect but I am SO glad that I did. Kathryn immediately assessed my home and asked me questions about my needs and then was prepared to get started right away. We tackled the kitchen first (by far the worst room to unpack due to the professional movers generous use of packing paper) and then moved into other rooms. She measured everything, shopped for supplies and was the only thing that kept me sane during this week. When my husband got back from his 5-day business trip, he was thrilled with what we had accomplished and how incredibly organized the kitchen and bathrooms were. I have Kathryn coming back Wednesday to do my master closet install and can't wait to see how it looks when I come home. Oh and I should add that she now has a key to my house - she is very trustworthy, works independently and has an exemplary work ethic. If you are in need of organization in your home - you will not regret hiring Kathryn.
Description of Work: Hired Kathryn to unpack, sort and organize my home after a move to Dallas from Minneapolis. She worked for about 36 hours from Monday July 16th- Friday July 20th.
