These guys are great. My overall experience was excellent. They delivered the wood when they said they would, they had to hand carry it to the worksite, which they had said they would do, and did cheerfully even though it was several treks of about 75 yards. And, the quality of the wood was better than I was accustomed to.

Called Stephen at HIMES and STARR REDWOOD SUPPLY to check on availability of wood selection and prices for fence project. Was told to send a list of needed materials and he would respond. Called back to confirm email address 4 days later (stephen@redwoodsupply.com). Stephen confirmed I had correct address. Emailed material list 11/9/12. Email bounced as and quot;undeliverableand quot;. Called back but reached Douglas. Douglas confirmed email address for Stephen was correct. I offered to forward rejection response and material list and was thanked. Forwarded. No problem with Doug's email address and I assume he received and will investigate. However, Doug told me on the phone that there was no way I was going to get my materials today. The supplier is 20min away and since it's 2:30pm, it's too late for them to order. They can order Monday morning and have next week. I told Douglas that Stephen told me the supplier was and quot;5 min up the roadand quot; and that he could have and quot;right awayand quot;. Doug said that is not possible. That I have to wait until next week. Told Douglas that I have this weekend to put up this fence. I need the material like Stephen promised. I need it today or tomorrow. No, he replied. That's not going to happen. I don't know which employee is telling the truth but since I'm talking to Douglas, my time and plans are wasted. Poor customer service. Inconsistent knowledge of product availability. Was never able to get a price. Makes it difficult to buy from them. Difficult to communicate with via email. Inconsistent and awful company.
