Window Nation Dallas/Ft. Worth

Fair. They were first company to respond and have someone come out. The sales pitch lasted about 2 hours, with lots of demos, but windows seemed nice and they talked a good game. At the time they had been only ones to respond and we didn't feel like sitting through another pitch, so went with them. This was 6/19/2022. The salesman measured windows, with our blinds installed, when he was there and drew up estimate which was more than I expected. He assured us we were getting windows at a steal and if they weren't trying to establish business in Dallas/FTW area we'd have paid much more. A second person came out and measured windows again. Also with our blinds installed. Install estimate was mid September since the windows get made to order. At time of order you pay about 30% of cost, and we paid the remainder at time of install. A big selling point for me was the lifetime, transferable, replacement warranty. Communication was good while waiting for the windows to be built and they ended up being ready earlier than expected. Installation was done on 8/3/2022, ahead of schedule. We removed blinds and moved furniture in anticipation of install. The installers arrived on time, were friendly and professional and did a good job. As I looked over the first complete window I got my first surprise. The windows are much thicker than our home's original windows, I'm sure due to extra glass and gaps for insulation. This reduced the room inside window frames from about 3 inches down to about 1. This meant our existing blinds could no longer be mounted inside the window frame. The installer made a joke about me having a new project. Two different people measured the windows with blinds installed and I have to assume they know the thickness of the replacement windows, but failed to mention our blinds would no longer fit. Removing/replacing blinds is not part of the installation process, so not something they have to worry about or correct. First disappointment. The installers also pointed out there was damage to one of the screens in the form of a couple of finger sized holes. They assured us they would open a service request to get screen replaced. I was able to mount our blinds outside windows which turned out to be acceptable, but not great. I waited a few weeks after install to hear from service, but never heard anything about replacing the screen. I went on been on Window Nation website to do a live chat to request service and was told I'd receive a call promptly. No call for a few more weeks, so submitted a service request on-line. I received a canned email response a few days later saying they are experiencing high volumes and delays. It is now 10/27/2022 and I've not heard back from service department about replacing my screen. I have however received about a dozen emails from sales department asking offering cash and incentives for referrals. Windows seem to be well made, but come at a premium price. I won't say anyone lied about my existing blinds not fitting after window replacement, but that fact was conveniently omitted. Install was relatively painless and completed in one day, but service after the install is an absolute joke. If you go with Window Nation, be prepared to figure out yourself how to source parts and repair for your windows and do not add value of “Lifetime warranty” into price you pay.
