Steve with Paul Bunyon Tree Service stood me up on an appointment to give me a quote. An appointment where I had taken off work for 2 hours to meet him. The next day Missy with the office showed no remorse for standing me up and costing me a $100. I did get them to show up the following day and give me a quote. They're quote was $600 higher than the company I used. That company showed up on time and was excellent unlike Paul Bunyon and his blue ox. I would never use them. They are expensive and untrustworthy.

It went great! This was the second time I have used Paul Bunyan Tree Service. I called on Wednesday, Steve came out and gave me an estimate on Thursday and they did the work on Friday. Very responsive. It is so refreshing dealing with a company who is honest, professional, knowledgeable and prices each job fairly. We will definitely use them again. PB Tree Services did an outstanding job. They are truly artists who trim and shape the trees and bushes into a beautiful landscape. We have used them several times before and have never regretted calling them. They are truly professional and always leave the yard and area very clean and nice.

I have used Paul Bunyan several times and was pleased on those other occasions so am not happy about having to write this review. However, people need to be aware of what can go wrong IF YOU ARE NOT THERE TO SUPERVISE. Steve Cabrera, the company representative I dealt with, is aware of these issues. I wanted to be home when the work was done, but unfortunately, the tree cutters did the work ahead of schedule without telling me so I wasn't there to see the mess unfold. Problems: 1) They somehow managed to break off several large branches on the big cedar tree that was about 20 feet away from the hackberry tree they cut down. The cedar tree looks lopsided now and will never be the same. 2) Sawdust type debris was all over the area where the hackberry tree used to be. I removed a lot of it myself. 3) There were small holes in the lawn (apparently from falling branches) that they had filled with sawdust. I had to remove the sawdust and fill the holes with dirt so that grass would grow over it. Who fills holes in a lawn with sawdust? I told Steve about all this right away. He was his usual calm, apologetic, professional self and gave me a small discount. However, a discount was fairly meaningless in light of the messed up cedar tree and the general aggravation with the sawdust. I did ask him to come back and try to "balance out" the appearance of the cedar (I paid for this additional service which was stupid of me to do). They trimmed a few branches but said there wasn't a lot that could be done. I was extremely unhappy about it but didn't scream and yell because the cedar tree couldn't be fixed. All I can do is warn potential customers and tell them there are more careful companies on Angie's List.

The photinia job in particular was quite challenging. The owner, Steve, climbed up into the photinias himself to help get the top line right. His tree trimmer did a great job on the Bradford pear. I was very pleased with their work, their attitude, and their professionalism. Will definitely call them back.

They do everything and extra. The clean-up is wonderful, which is just great.

Wonderful service! Steve is knowledgeable about different kinds of trees and the best way to trim. The crew was meticulous in trimming the trees but also raking up debris and hauling away.

Steve Cabrera, the operations manager, came out and provided an estimate for the work we needed done. I walked him around the property and showed him what I was concerned with. He made recommendations and explained his reasoning so that I was comfortable with what he suggested, and his price was lower than the other bids we received. In the back of the house, Steve and his crew cut down 3 dead trees and ground down the stumps. At my request they cut the trees into firewood and stacked the wood. They also cut a large tree back from the house and they thinned, cut back and raised the canopy of several more trees. In the front they pruned, thinned, cut dead wood and raised the canopy on about 14 trees. They arrived on time and the estimate of how long the entire process would take was spot on. They were very professional and they did an amazing job. They did more than they were asked to do, trimming up a palm tree, trimming back an oleander, and cleaning up a pile of branches that was obviously there before they arrived. The entire crew was knowledgeable, fast and professional. They left the yard cleaner than it was when they arrived. I could not have asked for a better experience. I will definitely use them whenever we need tree services in the future.

Steve and crew are awesome! I wanted to keep a natural look to our oak trees while raising the canopy and trimming them away from the street and the house. Steve and his crew did an amazing job exactly as I was picturing the end result. All of them were extremely polite, sensitive to my flowerbeds, and left the yard immaculate. There is no trace left showing that are trees were trimmed. It is a big plus that they have their own chipper so that I am left with nothing to dispose of. Steve's pricing was extremely fair. We had a large multi-trunk cedar that two tree guys told us needed to come down which would cause us to loose a large amount of shade. Steve and his crew trimmed dead branches and cabled the tree saving shade for our yard; also foamed trunk to keep water out. They also trimmed dead branches and a few low hanging branches. They moved valuables out from under trees and put them back and cleaned cut branches from yard.

The crew got here 2 days early which was fine with me. They did all the work we wanted done in less than an hour. They then cleaned up the whole yard and hauled off all the cut limbs. The tree looks great !! It really makes the whole house look so much better. Great job, We are very happy with all the work.

The trees in front of our house were so full we could not keep a lawn going due to lack of sunlight. I had several A-rated companies come out and give me estimates and suggestions on a course of action. A couple suggested trimming back what they could reach with a ladder and mainly just big limbs. The others suggested being more aggressive and thinning smaller sucker branches to let more sunlight through. I chose Paul Bunyon because they would work on ropes and harnesses up within the trees thinning farther up. The thinning allowed a more balanced approach since it achieved as good an effect as cutting all major limbs way up the trunk. I had seen this trimming style at my neighbor's houses and the trees look abnormal. We discussed which major limbs down low could be cut and what would keep the trees looking balanced. They were amenable to some changes that my wife suggested the morning they showed up and I was able to suggest a couple of alterations through the day once I could see how things were going. They worked well as a team and I felt the decisions were a joint effort with their professional advice not outweighing my homeowner concerns. They also cleaned up our tree in the back yard that I had rather butchered on my own trying to trim some of the lower limbs. The crew cut the larger limbs into fireplace length and stacked them out back for me. They brought their shredder truck and when they left; the yards were spotless. I did not want a job where a gigantic pile of limbs and brush sat at our curb waiting for the city to make a brush pickup. We were super pleased with the result and the professionalism of the crew.

Paul Bunyan Tree Service is the type of company that all others should strive to become. They are exceptionally nice, helpful and precisely on time. Steve was very knowledgeable and quickly identified what needed to be trimmed and made excellent suggestions regarding what was really needed with trying to over sell the job. I had several trees that had grown up against the roof plus several others that needed to be reshaped and corrected. The crew showed up on time as promised and I was also impressed that the team members used proper safety equipment including safety glasses. Inspection after they had completed the job showed that they performed exactly what was promised, no more and no less than expected. I was concerned that I would be left with "Q tipped" tress as some of the trimmers in my area have done to neighbors. The cleanup was such that without the fact that the problem limbs were removed, you would not have even known they had been there. I highly recommend BY for any tree work that you may need.

Steve provided an estimate and scheduled the service. He also provided oversite to the operation. Two trees so large and close to the houses can be tricky, but these guys were professional and knew what they were doing. The stumps were ground deep, so it will be easy to place a few pieces of sod down. They cleaned up the of every branch and leaf. Everyone was on time and took care of busy in an orderly professional manner making sure to not disturb the flowers, bushes, hanging baskets or the house. I plan to use them again in the Winter for another tree removal. It is wonderful to find a company that is knowledgable in their field and knows how to take care of business for a reasonable price.

They explained everything that was going to be done before hand. They got right to work & when they left, the mess was gone. I loved that they cleaned up after themselves, stuck to the quoted price, but the best part, they were extremely nice & professional.
