Description of Work: Removed a dead Bradford Pear tree and ground the stump. Although the cost was a tad pricey, their customer service and quality of work made it all worth it. We will use them again in the future if needed.

Description of Work: They trimmed several large live oak trees. The main job was to cut-down, remove and grind the stump of a 35 year old large tree. They were on time. They knew exactly what needed to be done and how to properly take down a large old tree that was within 8 feet of the house. When they left; there was "no" debris left just the spot of wood shavings where the tree had been.

+ -1 moreAfter calling their main office, Steve called me from his current location in Dallas. We arranged for a time for him to come by. He rechecked with me two times later in the afternoon to let me know where they were and their updated estimated time of arrival. They arrived with their truck right on time, and we started to evaluate what should be done with the tree. I didn't want to 'top' it, so they cut the two broken branches, then we looked all around the tree for the heaviest branches so we could cut off the weight. They did a great job! While Oscar was in the tree with the chainsaw, Damien and Steve were using the lopper and carting off the branches. They were really friendly and wanted to help in any way they could. Result: I have lost a couple of big branches, but my tree is okay now and I won't lose the whole thing. We also didn't have to 'top' it. I will call them again in better weather to shape the tree, and do some other pruning around the house. I would recommend them to anyone. They are professional, polite, and great people to know.
Description of Work: North Dallas had an ice storm last night, and one of my live oaks in the front yard was bent to the ground. I checked it out this morning, and there were two big branches already broken, and the weight of the branches was bending the tree to the ground. I tried to remove most of the ice from the branches, but I could not do it due to the amount of ice and a really bad back. So, I called Paul Bunyan Tree Service to see if they could help.

Description of Work: Had them remove two trees from my backyard - both fairly large trees. One was adjacent to the fence and the other overhung the pool; neither was easy to cut down. They did a great job taking the trees down and hauling the debris to the curb.

They didn't hit a single thing around, very well done. If we have any more tree work in the future I will be calling these guys. They did a terrific job and cleaned up all of it.

+ -1 moreThe job which Paul Bunyan did complete was adequate. They trimmed limbs and branches which I would not have been able to do on my own. However, they would only finish the job if I paid additional monies.
Description of Work: I contracted with the company to trim a tree in my back yard. The work was to commence on the day my family and I left on vacation. That was a mistake. Upon my return I noted that several large limbs had not been removed. I was told that the limbs were left in place because they might sprout new growth and, if they did, the symmetry of the tree would be maintained. If new growth did not occur the tree trimmers would return and remove the limbs. After a couple of months it became obvious that the limbs were dead and would have to be removed. The Paul Bunyan crew returned and removed only a small portion of the dead limbs. When I asked why the remaining limbs were not removed, I was told that there would be an additional charge. I paid for a complete job on the tree, but, would receive it only if I paid more money. I was left to remove the dead limbs on my own or pay a second time for the job to be completed. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!

+ -1 moreI arrived home from errands and saw that this company was working on my neighbors/trees and shrubs. Since I had planned to call to set up time for an estimate, and since they were right next door, I asked if they would have time when they finished to provide me an estimate. They did it right then which I was very pleased with. I was able to observe the work they were doing on my neighbors trees while I waited. I thought the estimate was too high for what I was asking. I was also put off by their discussion of what they were going to do on one of my neighbors shrubs - it was almost as tho they were asking for my input, and it was not my shrub. During all of this, I decided I did not like what I was observing as to the work for my neighbor, so I thanked them for the estimate with no intent to give them the work. I felt they were taking off way too much, leaving holes, and they had mentioned to me about really raising the canopies on my trees. Later in the afternoon, I saw how they had butchered the shrub that had been the topic of the earlier discussion and was VERY glad I had decided against hiring them. My neighbor also was very displeased and in fact told them NOT to touch the matching shrub on the other corner of the lot.
Description of Work: I only received an estimate from this company. I was looking to get tree trimming performed for storm damage in the past winter and just overall maintenance. I had seen a sign in the yard of someone in the next block.
