INSPECTION FOR MAJOR DEFECTS, SAFETY HAZARDS, THINGS THAT LEAD TO MAJOR DEFECTS, THINGS THAT MAY HINDER YOUR ABILITY TO FINANCE, LEGALLY OCCUPY, OR INSURE THE HOME.
I've bought houses before. I told the seller we wanted the house inspected before we committed. Mr Schirmeister is the most thorough house inspector I've ever seen. He spent two hours at it and gave us a VERY detailed rundown on the condition of the house. Next time I need a building inspected I will call him first.

We had worked with Jeff before -- we hired him to inspect a house about a month before this, but the house required $70k+ of repairs and Jeff let us know early in the inspection (he waived his usual fee). When we found a better house, we were very glad to hire Jeff again! My wife and I were present during the inspection. Jeff was very thorough and was glad to answer our questions. The inspection fee covered a pest inspector who was also very thorough and knowledgeable. We were impressed with his depth of knowledge. He compiled his report very quickly and met us and our Realtor® about 90 minutes later, and he went over everything that he had found in detail. I am very happy to recommend North Star Home Inspections to anyone who is looking to purchase a home and who wants a good, solid, thorough understanding of the home's condition.

Awful. Word to the wise, NEVER use the inspector your Realtor recommends no matter how much you think you trust them.
Description of Work: He was early and finished before I arrived and therefore I was not able to walk the inspection with him as I wanted to. I would NOT use him to inspect a dog house. He missed many things that I have in the last year spent thousands of dollars to repair. His report hid behind the statement of "recommend licenced professional". He mostly covered current codes that do not apply to a home built in 1984. I would rather he focused his attention on the problems and walk me to them to show me how severe the issue was. That is of the things he caught. Every contractor including my insurance company keeps asking me if I had the home inspected. That is the biggest joke of all. (on me)
