Global General Condstruction

I bought a deal in December 2013 for deck cleaning and sealing. I scheduled my service for January. They called and rescheduled due to bad weather. Said they couldn't come for a couple of months to make sure there was good weather. Scheduled for March 10. Then they again reschedule for March 17. I'm told they hope for good weather because they power wash on one day, then come back to seal another day. Okayyyy. Fine. I get a call on March 12 saying they messed up their dates and can't do March 17, they can only come that day or not for another 2 weeks. Fortunately I'm home so I say fine. They then say they can do the whole job in one day. Doesn't need to dry. Really? Guys come out early, I'm glad I was home. Guy starts telling me I have different kinds of wood (I don't) then tells me that color from stain is making it look a spotty (only been sealed, not stained) then says he's never heard of the wood my deck is made of, which is Ipe. I print off some info from the internet, but I'm not feeling good about this. After powerwashing he asks to use my bathroom "because he has to pee". Says they have to let it dry afterall, but will come back the same week to do the sealing. As of that Friday I had not heard from them, so I contacted Angie's list to cancel the service and they said they understood and I would get a full refund, even though the power washing had been done. The scheduler calls me the NEXT week to schedule the sealing. I told her that I was not happy and had requested a refund from Angie's list. She then became belligerent and said they wouldn't give me my money back because the work had already been started. She asked why I was unhappy I told her. I then received a list of reasons why the rescheduling happened including deaths, cancer and other problems in the company. Then she said, fine. And that was that. Terrible experience.

They damaged our doors and all the hardware with paint remover and sanding the doors down 3 different times trying to put the correct kind of stain on the doors. We let them attempt to correct the problems, but with each attempt, the condition of our doors was going from bad to worse. They worked on 3 exterior doors 4 or 5 months. We finally let them go. Hired a professional painting service that painted the doors in 2 days. We will have to completely replace the doors at some point, because the windows in the French doors are damaged from the paint remover and the solid wood front door is damaged from global general using an electric sander and sanding the door down I level and against the wood grain. Do yourself a favour and call a professional painting company.
