The worker who came to do the work was great. He worked really quickly and was done in record time. The one thing that I was disappointed in was the price. I paid $100 for $200 of electrical services and having 2 ceiling fans replaced cost another $150 to do that. It was much more expensive than any other electrical company I've used so I was disappointed in the pricing. If I had just booked them straight out it would have been $350 for replacing 2 ceiling fans. The technician who came I would use again because he was knowledgeable and a professional, I just didn't like the company's pricing.

I was having a flood like on the corner of the back patio taken down and electrical run to the center of my pergola where a double fan was out up. I purchased the $200 worth of service for $111. Work got done, mess was discarded, including my flood like assembly that they took down, I think the additional cost, over and above what I was to get for $200, was a bit high. This is the second time I used this contractor. The first time was to put in a couple of plugs in a previous house. That experience was fine. I'll try someone else next time I need electrical service.
Description of Work: Put up a fan and ran 10 foot of electrical line. This was outside under my pergola.

Overall the service and professionalism was fine, the issue is with the cost. I found them through Angies list with an offer of $111 for 2 hours of electrical work. The job took 2 hours, but not until the work was done did they tell me the cost for 2 hours of diagnostics was $449 (less $89 difference for the special). Net result was total cost was $360 plus tax. They never discussed fees when I set up the appointment or during the work, despite my being very clear on the coupon I had. Very disappointed. Just make sure you are aware of the cost first.

First the positive: When I built my home C&B did the electrical work and it has been reliable. Based on this I decided to use them again to help me fix a breaker that was continuously tripping. When I called them to set up the appointment, the lady who answered was very pleasant and very helpful. She even went out of her way to find when a technician would be in my area, so that they would wave the ~$60 trip charge. We were off to a great start. When the technician arrived, he was very professional and courteous. I spent about 5 minutes telling him all the trouble shooting I had done (checked switches, plugs, etc. with a multimeter and all was good) and he explained it was likely one of two things, either a CFL bulb I had installed or a bad breaker. He said the breaker was pretty expensive, so I asked if I could just remove the bulb and see if that did the trick. We removed the bulb and the breaker stil tripped. He then removes one outlet cover plate and checked the plug and it was good. He then proceeds to install a new breaker to see if it would fix it (note that I did not ask for the breaker to be installed, he just did it to see if it would work which is smart but this creates an issue). All of this takes place in about 20 min. We wait 5 more min to see if the circuit will trip and it does not. Awesome, we found the problem. Now the fun begins. Now that the problem is fixed, he walks me through what I will be charged. He states that it will be $199 for "diagnostics" and $275 for the breaker installation. I was floored. I tried to argue that the diagnostic fee should be waived because (no offense) he had only looked at one outlet and then installed the new breaker which was what the $275 was for. He apologized (again he was very professional) and stated this was the charge and it was beyond his control. I then called the office and asked to speak to a supervisor. Unfortunately this is when the customer experience diminishes. The Supervisor states that the diagnostic fee is what the technician states and I explained that usually when someone comes out to do a job like this, an estimate is given and then I can choose which service I would like. I also asked what all was included in the trip charge (that was actually waived because the tech was in the area) and she said some minor troubleshooting was included. If there was ever minor troubleshooting, this was it. There is no way I would have paid $199 for 10 min worth of diagnostic because I had already checked everything (minus the breaker and the CFL bulb). I thought a fair solution was that I pay for the breaker installation at $275 and we go on our merry way. She declined and said that this was their pricing and she apologized if I did not agree with it. I then went back out to talk to technician and he reiterated what the Supervisor stated. I then said, that I did not authorize the breaker to be installed and that if this is the direction they were going to go to remove it and I would just pay the $199. He wasn't sure if he could do this so I then called the Supervisor back and told her that I think a win win for both of us was to leave the already installed breaker in and I would pay the higher charge of $275. She reminded me that they waived the trip charge (this was done previously when setting up the appointment because the tech was in the area) and offered to give me the "friends and family" pricing which put the diagnostic at $149 but still wanted me to charge me that plus $275. I declined and had him remove the breaker. The unfortunate piece in all of this is that the Supervisor failed to work with me and do what was a win win for both of us. The installation of the breaker was part of the diagnostic and I think it was smart for the technician to rule out the breaker by taking 3 min to install a good one and then see if it works. But the problem is they wanted to charge me twice for breaker installation (diagnostics and breaker install) and that is just not the right approach. If given the opportunity to choose between $199 of continued diagnosis or replacing the breaker I would have opted to replace the breaker, but I wasn't given this option just charged both. In the end, we wasted alot of time, the breaker was removed and I spent $199 (or $111 thanks to Angie's List!) to realize the breaker was bad. I then had someone else replace the breaker. I selected that I would use this provider again because I am a believer in second chances and I think this is an isolated event. I did call the Service Manager to explain the situation and he said he would look into it. Outside of my interaction with the Supervisor and not being given clear guidance on pricing prior to the work beginning, I was pleased with the experience. I write this review in hopes C&B will recognize my comments and make improvements as needed. Thanks.

Sorry you felt slighted sir= Technician was on site at your home for 2.75 hours in total. Pricing was fair and is below other electrician in the DFW area. I suggest as we do with all our customers call the Milestones guys or the TLC guys and even Mr electric guys and get quotes from them- then call us. We get the majority or our business this way because our pricing and customer service is better. Wish we could have taken care of you- Thank you for your review we will use it to help better our service... D

I purchased a deal for $200 of electrical work for $111. I called the office prior to the purchase and inquired as to what this might equate to in terms of work performed, and was met with a vague response about being unable to price individual projects without seeing the job first hand. When pressed further, I was informed that their standard rate is $100 an hour. This was later denied by the same individual. I needed a ceiling fan and a light fixture to be replaced. I figured that electrical work does not get much more elementary than installing ceiling fans and light fixtures, so I assumed, based on my conversation with the vendor, that $200 would get me 2 hours of simple electrical work. That is not the way this company operates. For anyone considering purchasing this deal, my experience with this vendor would indicate that: If you wish to have C&B Electric remove and replace a ceiling fan, at normal ceiling height, it will cost you $225. If you wish to have C&B Electric remove and replace an existing light fixture, normal ceiling height, it will cost you $149. $374. There are many electricians out there who can perform the same work for less than $150, and be transparent about their pricing in the process. I know because I subsequently hired one.
Description of Work: Quoted me a price of $374 for a standard ceiling fan replacement and standard light fixture replacement.

Fast, friendly, professional. Arrived early (called first to make sure it was okay). Gave me a quote promptly. Offered to provide service immediately or give me time to think about it/call and schedule. Brian and Shawn were awesome. Will definitely use C&B again. On another positive note, C&B wired our house during the build so nice to know we're using the same company.

I bought a deal that was for $200 worth of work. The bedroom was $149, which left me with $50. The outside light fixture and premium bulbs were $129. I was able to apply that $50, therefore; only owing $78. Brian and Shawn were AMAZING! They were extremely prompt and very professional. I was at ease with them immediately, something I have not experienced in a very long time. The work was completed in an extraordinary timely manner. Brian also made some recommendations of important things we needed to do for safety purposes. We will definitely use C &B Electric again provided Brian and Shawn will do our work! I highly recommend this company and Brian and Shawn!.

I contacted provider on a Thursday to get a quote for install of outdoor flood light. The electrician, Brian, showed up 3 hours later (talk about punctual and responsive)! Brian is very professional and explained things in a way me, the layperson, could clearly understand. I scheduled the install. Brian showed up as scheduled and had the job completed in no time. Again, he took the time to show me how to make adjustments to the light to suit our needs. Quality workmanship, couldn't ask for more. C&B Electric will be our go to for electrical service and I will ask for Brian. Good folks are hard to find.

1 Changed kitchen fixture( large one) bulb. Found that ballast was not working. I offered to get the new ballast from home depot but refused to stick around.Said pay another 99$ for next trip. 2 The Bedroom light on fan was not working. He checked that switch needed replacement. The Power to fan was ok but something wrong with fan so needed to replace it. For putting Switch he asked another 75$. The Switch cost only 5$. 3 Since nothing got really done and it took him only 20 mins ,I asked him if he can attend to any other issue and he refused, 4 Overall ,too expensive and you will get ripped off because they will give you an estimate after seeing your work. He walked off in less then 25 mins. 5 He also stepped and put his whole weight on my Granite kitchen top.I told him it is fragile and it can break but my concern did not bother him. In fact I took another ladder and was holding the fixture from him from other side to help him out.

I needed a new outlet over my mantel. I cut the hole, purchased the face plate for a sunken plug and provided the outlet and junction box for the outlet and made sure that the electriction would have clear access to the attic and for the wire. All that was needed was to connect the wall plug to a reliable power source. I was really surprised when he said it would cost $299 dollars and with my special Angies price that was only $99 more. During our conversation he said installing an outlet was the most common electricial work they do and that tapping into an existing junction box is the cheapest price they have. Since that Time I've been wondering what was Angie selling me? Is this a pay me a little now so you can pay me a little later, I won't do another one. Also $299 for an hours worth of work seems over the top, but I relied on Angie to get me a fare price and didn't shop around because I thought it was a simple job that could be completed within $200 scope of service. The switch works, I got what I wanted, I paid only $99 more than I expected thanks to this special offer from Angie's List.

Brian and Shawn made two trips to install a bathroom ceiling heater. The first time, I thought our two year old ceiling fan/vent/light had a heater that wasn't hooked up and since we didn't need the light, I thought the heater could be hooked up to the existing switches. Unfortunately, it didn't. Brian told me which model number to buy that had the heater, and I purchased it. Brian and Shawn returned and installed the new heater without any problems. (We will have to have sheet rock repair due to the difference in shape between the older fan and the new one, but that's not their fault. I would recommend this company and specifically, Brian and Shawn to do your electrical work.

It went fine. Brian and his assistant called to let me know they were on their way and arrived on time. They were polite and professional. My new fan works great and doesn't wobble or make noise like the old one did. They even hauled off the old one and all the trash at no extra charge. As a woman home alone to meet the electrician it made both my spouse and i more comfortable that 2 guys showed up. Just felt a little safer, if you know what I mean. Not that either of these guys made me feel uncomfortable at all, understand. It's just a general statement.

Can’t complain about sloppy work. Because no work was done. Another electrician verified that a wire was cut. And a contractor doing other work in our home also said the wire was cut. I told C&B that we need cut wire replaced. Their technician arrived, looked around in the attic, and told me we need a wire replaced because it had been cut or a rodent had bitten it. Duh. And he said we need to move even more bins out of the attic (a neighbor wondered why the wire couldn’t have been strung across the ceiling instead of on the attic floor—good point), and he said we need to get an exterminator before the wire is replaced. After he left, I called another electrician who moved two bins and got the job done. The C&B guy said the $111 certificate for the $200 of electrical work would be a diagnostic fee. After I had already diagnosed what we needed, based on a previous electrician and a contractor (who charged no fee for diagnosing)? Really? Nowhere did the voucher say anything about a diagnostic fee. He said there would cost an additional $149 to do a workaround by hooking into the furnace (not an option – we feel that would be too much of an energy drain, and we’re probably going to replace the furnace within the next year or two) or an additional $249 to replace the wiring. He then gave an estimate of $299 (in addition to the$111) for installing one more plug over the master bath vanity where there currently is one two-prong outlet (another contractor charged$120 to put in a new electric outlet in the front bathroom AND changed another plug to a GFCI within that amount).... and C&B gave a quote of $199 to add a new plug in the wall near the light switch in the bathroom. Seemed rather high to my husband and me, as it did to a neighbor who has had much electrical work done. First time I’ve had an electrician charge for an estimate.
Description of Work: A guy arrived. Period. No services performed. (1) Office and (2) the worker were told that a cut wire needed replaced. The guy used a hand-held gadget to test two wires, and said "This one is live, this one isn't. Your $111 is the diagnostic fee." No diagnostic fee was listed in the ad or mentioned previous to their visit. He also gave exhorbitant estimates on several other things I wanted done. Did no actual work.
