C & B Electric

I was a little bit disappointed in the deal. I felt it was more of a bait and switch. The pricing was very deceptive. I ended up having to pay additional fees. All I needed them to do is wire up a few outdoor fixtures and fix a broken chain on a ceiling fan. They wanted to charge an additional $250 but I would not agree to that. Part of that fee would be a $40 fuel fee which was not made clear. One technician came out for the job and completed the service in about an hour. I felt like the deal was not a good value and I could have done most of the work myself. I would suggest you really read the fine print because it was not made very clear what exactly the deal is for.

Great. Appointment was set promptly. Technician was prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable. Service was performed within an hour and met my expectations.

Bought Big Deal, was promptly contacted and scheduled for install of outlet. However, we found out we didn't need the outlet and cancelled the big deal. C&B, Terry, was very friendly despite being on his way out to the house (even though) we cancelled. Would definitely use them for electrical work in the future.

The technician arrived on time was very friendly and in addition to fixing the outlets that needed attention (both tied to a GFCI that I was having trouble with). He helped me diagnose the route causes and gave me troubleshooting advice on how to fix it going forward. Overall it was an excellent experience.

Brian showed up early and was awesome. He installed the switch and took the time to answer some questions about our lighting. He made some recommendations and provided us with some suggestions for additional energy efficiency and provided a quote. We plan on moving forward with his suggestions in the near future.

I had them move two existing ceiling fans from one room to the another as well as check a few outlets that weren't working. They did a great job! He was able to find the right interrupt switch for the outlets, and everything is working fine now. There were no issues with scheduling, and they were pretty prompt.

Originally I was going to have them drop an additional outlet but since I was having other work done in the area, I decided to call and change what I wanted done. The customer service rep that helped me set up the original appointment and then helped me change the work to be done was very professional and helpful. She even put me on hold to make sure the service guy carried what I needed on the truck. The service guy called about 20 minutes out from my home. He showed up on time, was very polite, looked at what I wanted and checked the switch box to make sure what he was dealing with prior to install. Once he started the installation, he noticed some strange wiring and fixed it while he was at it. He completed the work in about 30 minutes and the switch worked on the first try. We had already been through 2 attempts at installing these that burned out upon switching on prior to calling them. Although the actual value of installing this switch was less than $200, I didn't have anything else at the moment to have him do so I just let it be done. I am very happy with the results. Would use them again especially if I can get an Angie's list deal.

Brian was great! Answered all our questions and repaired the GFI's quickly. Would definitely use CB again!

After purchasing the deal, they contacted me via email through Angie’s List providing me with their phone number. When I called them, I left a message and they returned my call. They were busy and the days that I had originally wanted were booked and we were able to schedule a couple of weeks out. They are going to bring lighting fixtures to install in my attic and they will be looking into any issues that my security lights may have.

Arrived on time, was a bit more complicated because my fuse box was pretty much full, but he moved some things around and was able to get it working. Was kind enough to go over a few items on our inspection report (this is a new house for us) and give us a quote on things that need fixing. I like this company as they seem to make money through volume rather than gouging the customer. Will use again and was happy with the work done.

The electrician was simply awesome. He changed the fan with an extremely tall ceiling (22 foot high) and even painted around the base of the fan for us. I would use them again in a heartbeat and specifically ask for the same person again. (Also worth mentioning ... I don't normally write comments in these sort of things, but I was very impressed and felt others needed to know)

Excellent! Brian was exceptional - he was punctual and did a great job to made sure everything was how I wanted it installed/fixed. If I have any more electrical needs in the future, I will definitely be reaching out to C&B. Brian was quick and efficient in installing both the ceiling fan and flood light fixtures.

Kerry was a true professional. I am grateful for the expert knowledge he brought to the job. I am one of those homeowners who like to be involved and learn from the professional doing the job. Kerry made me very comfortable by explaining things as he worked. His kind attitude made me feel safe in the work he performed. 1st visit provided quote for service. Arrived on time and provided adequate explanation of services to be provided. 2nd visit arrived on time and completed services requested . Installation was professional and electrician was courteous. I had one issue with the installation, called the company for someone to look at the problem. Electrician came back out as promised and the issues was resolved with no problems.

C&B did a great job. I have used them before for some other work (audio/visual wiring) and this time got an Angie's list coupon for miscellaneous electrical work. Technician was prompt, professional, and informative. I have some other potential projects that i wil lcertainly consider C&B for.

Electrician arrived on time. He installed the new vent hood very quickly, in approximately 30 minutes. Since I had paid for 2 hours of electrician time, I attempted to have the electrician do another electrical task at my home. He was uninterested in fulfilling the hourly commitment. Installing a light switch activated by my pantry door would require a carpenter. Installing an additional electric outlet in my bathroom needed to wait until I remodeled. Overall, I can honestly say he did what I called for, but I feel like I didn't get what I paid for.

Used Angie's List big deal to do 4 electrical jobs... (1) Replace GFCI in yard, (2) repair broken dimmer switch for our pool light, (3) fixed landscape timer, (4) converted light fixtures to LED from florescent. Brian came over and did jobs (1) & (2). Brian didn't want to charge me to fix the landscape timer, because it was so insanely easy for me to do it myself and he showed me how (Sooooo.... nice of him!). And he didn't charge me for installing the LED lights, since it was an easy snap in. Unfortunately, the LED lights required some rewiring since we were switching from florescent to LED and soon the ones he installed burned out the ballist (which was OK because removing the ballist was part of the LED conversion). Anyhow, C&B rescheduled for Brian to return. He did the rewiring and quickly installed the new LEDs. I asked if I could pay for the work since he originally didn't charge me for it, and he said that he would cover it under their warranty. So.... there are a lot of Angie's list providers that I found that are good, but I usually shop through the big deals and use whoever has a special going. I rarely do this, but I was SOOO impressed by C&B Electrical and Brian that I am definitely going to add C&B Electrical to my contact list and call them first in the future. There is something about how a company handles mistakes (and we all make them!) that makes you really trust them. This company really came through! Anyhow, great work Brian! And thank you!

Electrician was friendly and helpful. I did not feel like I was constantly being subjected to "up-selling" -- he did the repairs I needed and provided options so that I could choose what worked best for my budget as well as intended usage within my barn. He even went out of his way to change out light bulbs while he was working on a hard to reach outdoor fixture.

He was few minues late. He tried to find east 6th street not west 6th. He called and I assured him he only needed to turn around and head west of 6th. Upon arrival he went right to work fixing the loose fixture in the vaulted ceiling. He then went upstairs to replace the ventilation fan motor in our upstairs guest bedroom. He accomplished both tasks in the 2 hour time I had purchased. He was polite and cleaned up. I would use C&B electrical again.for any future electrical work.

Like all repairs, you expect there to be other items not covered in part of the Big Deal, and in my case there was. Work cost $500 above the cost of the deal for the meter base as well as some additional breakers not covered. Not something I was surprised by and was happy to have the work done properly. Since I had the work done, I have had much more reliable electrical service at the house. Last year during the heat of the summer, several times I came home to find the power to the whole house off and main circuit breakers tripped, but that has not been the case this year. The service was excellent, they came out and did an initial inspection of the work and gave me the estimate on the additional costs mentioned above. Only thing is I would have appreciated, after spending over $1,000, for them to actually contact ME not make me call and play phone tag with their receptionist and scheduling person. On the day of the work, the guys did an awesome job of completing everything, labeling all the breakers, cleaning everything up and making sure I was able to inspect their work all along the way. My dad, uncle and grandpa were all electricians so I have some idea of what quality work looks like as I have done a lot of minor work with them over the years, and this looked excellent. They even did some work on the outside of the house where the house builder back in the 60s took some shortcuts on the building materials behind the meter base. The only reason I have any complaints it that this exact same offer became available right at $200 cheaper just a month or so after I had this work done. I feel like I got a little cheated out of that money but cannot complain about the professionalism or the quality of the work I got for my money.

Originally wanted to install one ceiling fan in my back patio, but unfortunately there was no easy access to run the wires to the place i wanted in the middle of my back patio. So we replaced 2 can light with two ceiling fans. In hindsight, it was better that we put 2 fans vs 1 but the costs kept adding up. Braces had to be installed....and was charged a premium of about $80 for the braces...but they retail at the big boxes for about 30. overall, i appreciated the tech's insight but thought I was being overcharged on additional pieces. also, both fans were left wobbling. He insisted that it was because of the slight breeze that was going on that day, but i didn't really think that the wind was that significant that day but non-the-less I trusted his judgement. So now even on the stillest days, the fans still wobble considerably. I bought a Angie deal of $200 worth of electrical work for $99. at the end it cost me about 400. This will be the last "deal" I buy.
