When I initially spoke with the company I was asked what electrical services I wanted completed. I told the lady that all I needed done was to have a ceiling fan installed and two wall outlets checked as they were loose. When the serviceman arrived I showed him the room where I wanted the ceiling fan and the wall outlets checked. He said he needed to write up the total cost and went to his truck. The cost to do these two small repairs was $324 which included $99 for a EFP annual service through them. I told him I did not need this service so did not want to pay for it and asked that he readjust the work order estimate. He said if I didn't purchase the EFP service the cost to repair the items would be substantially higher. I told him I did not want him to complete the repairs as I felt it was unfair for me to be forced to pay for something I did not need or want and to be penalized if I did not purchase it. That same day I called two master electricians in my area and they gave me an estimate of approximately $100 - $150 for these easy services. I do feel the purchase of the EFP should have been mentioned in the coupon on Angie's List so that potential customers would know that this might affect the price of the repairs being done. I called the office that same afternoon and left a message requesting a refund of the money I spent through Angie's List for the special as I couldn't reach anyone. Mr. Dee Peppers called me on Tuesday and said I could receive a refund but would need to go through Angie's List. Thank you for your consideration.

I bought the special because I wanted an exhaust fan installed in my bathroom. The serviceman was here today and told me he couldn't install the fan because it hadn't been vented. But he did tell me that they could install it for additional 300-400 depending on which program I bought! I call that a switch and bait deal. Please refund my $99. Thank you

They did a great job installing all the ceiling fans and light fixture. They thoroughly explained pricing before they started the job so there would be no surprises. They were knowledgeable and very professional.
Description of Work: Took down three ceiling fans, installed three new ceiling fans and a flush mount light fixture. Also replaced a dimmer that was getting too hot.

Deal on Angie's List was $200 worth of electrical work for $111. All I needed was a GFCI circuit breaker and light switch replaced for my pool/spa lights. I priced out the GFCI and electrical switch for around $120. I figured labor cost would be around $80. Their estimate came in at a whopping $723 on top of the $111 I already paid. The technician did mention that cost estimate included an extended Family Plan for $99 of which I had no need for buying such a plan. I felt this so called "deal" is not such a deal after all. I decided to pass on this company and find another electrical outfit with reasonable costs. I didn't appreciate the scare story on how dangerous this could be if not repaired. I knew that already Mr. Technician.
Description of Work: Diagnosed and wrote an estimate on electrical repair for a pool light switch and circuit breaker replacement prior to work being done. Did not use them due to very high cost estimate.

We purchased a $200 Angie's List voucher for $200 worth or electrical work. We needed a new GFI recepticle installed in out=r bathroom and I was blown away with a quote of $399 to do this. This means that I would have spent $290 for ths I think but the gentleman never acknowledged the voucer in the quote. This is always the problem with an offer like this, you never know what the service should be. Since I saw another Angie's List offer a couple of days later for a outdoor GFI socket to be installed for $80 I felt that I have probably overpaid a little but acceptable. If they were willing to install a new GFI receptacle outside for $80 I was in the area of hat the going rate was. In addition to the HIGH quote for this new receptacle he took the liberty of installing a new LED can light and quoted it would only be $199 per light and I have 15 of them. I can buy these for less than $30 each on Amazon or at Home Depot. Then on top of these he was offering a $199 club membership so I would never have a trip charge and I would get 10% off any work done. 10% off work that is already inflated by 400% is not smart in my mind. The person was nice and courteous but be cautious if you value your money
Description of Work: installed a LED can to try to sell me 15 at an outrageous price and quoted, in my opnion, an outrageous price for installing a new GFI receptacle. No Work was done

Initial consultation and quote took place a week and a half after calling for service (they were booked up). The service was performed the following Saturday. Technicians friendly but the initial consult quote was 1262 and the final bill was 1795 (the technician mis-added the first quote and so discounted the final bill or it would have been larger). Four hours worth of work and the job was finished. The technicians made an effort to patch the holes made in the process (after a little prompting) and I patched the walls after they left. No complaints about the work but still more expensive and took longer to have the service scheduled than I had hoped.

This work was completed in November of last year. I thought the job went well and the company was easy to deal with. I had a different electrician at the house recently who showed me that C+B electric did not perform the job properly. The panel was not grounded and there were some wiring errors.

Brian also took a look at my master breaker and recommended a surge protector to automatically protect all my outlets because homeowners never think about a refrigerator, washer/dryer, or TV getting killed by lighting strike. Additionally we talked about adding an outlet for above my fireplace where my TV is currently positioned and he recommended an easy solution to do this with minimal impact to the drywall and surrounding area. I will definitely be calling again and asking for Brian specifically.

After speaking with them about the job, I don't want to do business with them. They are telling me they won't be able to scheudle me for 1-2 weeks out. They are also telling me I'll need additional work that I don't want. I wasn't able to get through to a professional either - I only spoke with a receptionist and a scheduler.

I bought a Big Deal. Brian, the electrician can to my home to correct the wiring to my ceiling fan. I had used another electrical company and they did a bad job, they had the wiring all messed up. Brian quickly found the source problem and corrected the issue. Now, my ceiling fan is working again. Brian, was very professional and on time, he explained what the other company had done incorrectly with the wiring. He did a great job, I'm happy with the service and will use again.

Professional and punctual. Job well done, a bit high on the mark-ups, $195 charge for a GFCI outlet is a bit steep. The job was executed well however so I'd rather pay a little on the high side to get it done right as opposed to the other way around.

Electrician called ahead of time and arrived as scheduled. He found that the pump motor was stuck, freed the rotor, and then tested the switch. He also noticed that the GFI outlet it was plugged into was defective - it did not shut off when tested. That is what caused the circuit breaker in the service panel to trip. He explained what he found, gave me an estimate of the repairs, I approved the repairs, and he replaced the GFI outlet. He credited me for the service call since I purchased the Angie's List coupon, and charged me for the parts installed. Total time was just over an hour for the work.

I was pleased with C&B's services. I called regarding a rental house I owned. The resident was describing that half of the home wasn't getting power at all and the other half was getting only a little power - lights dim and appliances going on and off. They also described a burning smell. This was a Friday before the Columbus day holiday and I was worried about them having to go through the long weekend with a potential fire hazard. C&B was busy on the day that I called, but understood the problem and volunteered to add me to the end of the day. They described fully in advance what the costs would be, and agreed to honor the Angie's List coupon/voucher I mentioned. They said they would arrive no later than 5pm, but they got there early (around 2:30). They performed a full diagnostic and called me with their findings. Unfortunately, the problem was that the power line from the transformed to the house had failed, so we had to have the city perform the repair. I can therefore not speak to C&B's actual quality of work - but their promptness, and their diagnostics were both great.

Booking was easy and we got an appointment the same day. The electrician was professional and polite, plus he wore shoe covers without having to be asked. No problems there. After fully inspecting the breaker box and the plugs in the room, he replaced the breaker. It's worked great since. It's a GFI built into the breaker, an upgrade over what we had. However, the price was sticker shock. I get that electricians charge a lot. But I feel like we got the gold-plated high-end breaker, when I would personally have gone for an average or above-average one. The electrician didn't offer us choices -- he just installed it and showed it to us. I see similar items online for $60 (GFI breakers with high customer ratings). I feel like a $400-ish price would have been much more in line with what I really needed in terms of materials and service. Also, the company has an Angie's List coupon, but it didn't mean anything. The coupon was for a service charge that they don't charge anyway. Maybe I'm missing some fine print, but the coupon didn't save me any money, which was also upsetting, since that was part of the reason I picked the company from the list.
Description of Work: We had a room with plugs not working and the corresponding circuit breaker kept tripping. He inspected our circuit breaker and the plugs. The issue was the breaker, which he replaced with a nicer GFI one.

Sorry to see you were upset about your service call sir- Couple of things that may help- I do not show you used a coupon on this call so if your intention was please contact our office so we can clarify. Second thing is sorry we are not able to offer different types of breakers. We have been doing this for 40 years now and have learned to only use a certain brand that we can stand behind. Better for the customers in the long run to invest in a good breaker rather than a cheap one... D

Alex, the electrician that came out, was very professional, found the source of the problem and replaced the burned out outlet. He gave good advise on how to prevent this from happening again, what was needed for safety. He also put in a new outlet on the other side of the garage so we could plug in the refrigerator. His fix also made it possible to use the outdoor outlets that had been non-functional.

I ended to get a refund. They came and the bill was 1000$ for 1900$ worth of time to relocate an electrical outlet but it was actually going to cost 3700$. I would not use them again. Sorry you felt your deal was a "scam" but so your aware I would like to clarify some statements in your review. You were not requesting to move an outlet but rather to relocate your entire electrical panel. This is not a "simple" job and would have required extensive labor and material- when we gave you our free estimate you chose to get a refund and we gladly assisted you with this. Not sure where the scam part is but in the end glad you got your refund and we stand behind our word, Just wished we could have satisfied you....
