Response from Somervell Floors, Inc
I feel like I need to respond to [member name removed] comments, normally I wouldn't bother. [member name removed] had become very rude, and did not care that he cost my installer two days of driving 75 miles one way and not being ready for him to work due to there not being any electricity one day, and too many other contractors working on another day. My installer was only at the house working for less than two weeks, and would even work late. [member name removed] had even patted my installer on the shoulder to tell him how he appreciated him. We did not keep pulling off the job, that is just not true. However, there was one day that the installer had to go back to a job that was done prior to this job starting, to finish the tile that had just come in. Our installer was going to return the next day, but there was some mis-communication on Somervell Floors end, and [member name removed] was not informed. When our installer went out the next day to finish grouting and installing 2 tiles in a closet, he was run off the job and told not to come back. My salesman called [member name removed] to apologize and offered to have someone else back out there that day to finish. [member name removed] told my salesman that he did not want us on the job, and he would never ******* use us again, and if the installer was not gone in 10 minutes, he was going to call the police. I was out of town on vacation when all of this took place. I called into the store to check-in, and I was told about what had happened. I tried calling [member name removed], but he would not respond. This put a damper on the rest of my vacation because I take great pride in our work, and I was trying to apologize and rectify the situation. The following Saturday, I finally was able to speak to [member name removed] to apologize about the mix up on our part and to try to get an installer out to their home to finish grouting. He refused and said that he would hire someone else, which he deducted $700.00 for about half of the job to be grouted (approx 450 sf), I feel that is pretty steep. [member name removed] waited over a week to come and pay his balance and was very rude when he came in. Again, I apologized to him. He brought pictures of the work our installer did for me to look at, and I said I thought the job looked nice. He turned around and said yes, but you know what I am going to say about you. What I really don't understand is why he acted this way, because the tile we had done for him 3 months prior, he bragged and bragged on the job and said our installer, Victor was great and requested him to do the rest of the tile. The following is a direct quote from an email I received on 08/21/14 from [member name removed]: "Victor and his brother did a fantastic job." "I am very pleased with the tile and their workmanship." I really hate to see that [member name removed] and [member name removed] are disappointed, and I wish that they had accepted our apology and let us finish with the small amount of work that was left to do.
