First the technician arrived and was answering text messages on his cell phone for the first 10 minutes. The texts were coming in every 30 seconds to 1 minute. He was more concerned with his texts than with doing his job. He continued to answer his text messages the whole time he was here. When he FINALLY got around to checking our my ovens, he asked me for MY thermometer. Mine is from a grocery store - not a professional one. I assumed that an appliance repair company would have an accurate professional thermometer to check out exactly what temperature ovens were heating up to. I asked him if he didn't have a thermometer he used for this purpose and he went to the truck to get one - and it was just like mine and he admitted itr came from a grocery store. His thermometer showed my oven was heating too high for the set temperature and mine was showing it too low (which is how my food cooks.) And that is how he left it -- except when he left he showed me in my manual how I could reset it. Why didn't he do that? What was I paying him for -- answering his personal text messages? Then on the dryer he found that the latch for the lint filter was bent (it was rattling in the bottom of the holder) and he just rebent it and put it back in place. We all know that metal never bends back in place like new. Also he did not bother to pull the dryer out and clean out any lint that had built up while the latch was bent and the filter was not fitting in tight. I would assume cleaning out lint in this case should be routine. Also, when I called for the appointment I told the man who answered (who was pretty non-resonsive) that I had a booster fan in the attic that I wanted checked out to verify it was still working after three years and no lint had collected in it. The technician had not been told about this and was not familiar with the device. So I said forget it. At this point I did not trust his work. I paid him but will have to search and find another appliance repair company to do what I paid The Right Appliances to do. VERY DISAPPOINTED and don't know where all the good reviews in Angie's List came from. Maybe they just sent me a dud.
Description of Work: Check thermostat on dual ovens which had been under cooking. Latch for dryer lint filter was bent. Bent it back in place rather than order a new one.

I had left my name with the office people but the repairman wasn't able to call me to set up an appointment till the next day. That is understandable considering the size of the company. The day of the appointment the repairman is over 30 minutes late. When I called to inquire where he is, he tells me he is running behind and won't be able to make it for another 40 minutes. I understand in this business that jobs can take longer and so you can't always keep an appointment to the minute. However if you are running behind that much, a courtesy phone call would have been nice to keep up in the loop. Thank you.
Description of Work: Please see overall review.I can not say to the fact on the quality of work because I did not go through with the appointment. The other reviews look positive so I could be a one off aberration, but still this was my experience.

Call him! He did a great job, he will be back to fix one of our washing machines soon.
Description of Work: Mike and his son came out to fix our refridgerators, all four of them. We did an excellent job, was in and out, came back the next day with the part needed for one, now we have lots of cold food! No hassle, no run around, no pricing gimmicks.

I was washing a comforter that I had washed several times before. I came in the kitchen to find soapy water all over the floor. The comforter had become wrapped tightly around the agitator. I called The Right Appliances, and the lady who answered the phone gave me the cell phone number of the repairman.I called him and described the situation. He suggested that I try to disengage the comforter and run a cycle with something else in the machine. If it also wrapped around the agitator then the transmission would more than likely be stripped. I asked if it would just be cheaper to buy a new machine. He said that we would first have to find out the cost of a replacement transmission before making that decision. Once I got the comforter loose, the machine worked fine! When I do need service, I shall certainly call this company. I am amazed that Mike, the service man, was willing to give me a possible solution (and one that worked) at no charge with no suggestion of a service call being needed.I could not be more pleased.
Description of Work: Advice given over the phone free of charge.

My 6 year old Whirlpool dryer had condensation forming in the dryer’s display panel. The dryer would work for a short period of time and then stop. I was concerned that it would be expensive to fix, because the washing machine that goes with it has been problematic. Mike was the service rep, and he quickly saw that the vent was unattached inside the dryer. Lint had collected all around the internal parts since it was not blowing out of the dryer. He showed me the problem before he fixed it. The lint was totally cleaned out and the laundry room was spotless when he finished. I was very pleased with the $92 fee for the service call and parts.

My Kenmore side by side refrigerator stopped cooling properly. I called The Right Appliances in the morning and descriped my situation. Mike came out within about an hour an a half. Mike quickly repaired the appliance. I was charged $45 for the service call, $28 for defrosting the coil & vent with a hair dryer, $38.95 for a new Defrost sensor and $9.52 for tax. I was very happy with their promptness. He said they give refrigerator repairs priority. LOVE THAT!

James and his son came, assessed the damage caused by Oncor, and determined that I needed a new pump on my washing machine. I teach school and could not stay long enougn for them to return with need parts that same day, but they came back Satuday am and installed the parts and swept the dust, etc from behind stove. Working with them was a pleasure--I will definitely tell others who need appliance repairs.
Description of Work: Oncor installed the "smart meter:at my house & when power was turned back on, my electrical panel stopped working on my Jen-Air range, so I had to replace this expensive item. Also the pump on my washing machine was broken and water leaked from the bottom of my machine. Working with them was a pleasure--I will definitely tell others who need appliance repairs.

Our refrigerator was relatively new (4 yrs) and suddenly stopped allowing the ice to flow through the dispenser. I called The Right Appliance one afternoon, and they were at my house the next day. I was told that my issue was something very unusual in general and rare for such a new refrigerator. A part was ordered and within 2-3 days the piece was replaced. My icemaker has been working great since then.
Description of Work: Icemaker was working, but not allow ice to flow through the dispenser. A part needed to be ordered and the part was replaced a few days later. Professional and prompt service.

Everything went as planned. The gentleman answered the phone (no recordings) That was my first + for them. I explained our problem, he understood and came out the same afternoon. Had to pickup the damper control, but the parts facility was already closed for the day. No problem — he communicated with us the following day about getting the part installed. I had to be away from home that morning, so he came in the afternoon and completed the job. This entire repair was simple and completed very efficiently and at a very reasonable cost.

Went fine, part was a lot more than what I would expect for the brand of range we have, but apparently Viking is the actual manufacturer of the type of range we have, although it's not a Viking stove or even really resembles a Viking stove. The provider was able to locate the part locally and replaced it the same day.

This repair was covered under warranty by manufacturer (LG) but the approved service provider for warranty repairs couldn't fix the problem for two weeks. That was unacceptable, so I decided to pay for it myself. Worth every penny, this company was responsive and sent someone out the same day I called, very nice and knowledgeable repair man. He explained the problem and showed me the broken part and what it should look like. Talked to me with respect and patience, answered my all my questions without being condescending or too technical.
