These guys are great. Very honest, very reasonably priced, and very knowledgeable. They have always been on time and complete the work (if needed) quickly. When their original diagnosis of the problem with my washer was wrong, they came out and loaded it up, took it to their shop, figured out the problem, and brought it back within a day. No extra charges either. They are my go-to guys when I have an appliance problem or question.
Description of Work: Had a washing machine repaired and a dryer serviced.

Mike came out the day after we called, and at the appointed time. Based on his prognosis (burned out mother board, same problem I had months before, and inherent to this model), we took Mike up on the offer to sell us a used, new-ish Maytag Neptune front-load washer. It was $599, and we asked if we could do that in 2 payments with a post-dated check for a week out. He OK'd that, and came back the next day with a younger helper (his son?) and replaced the old washer. He was on time and the job went quickly. That was on a Saturday - and he didn't charge extra for a weekend day. Four days later, on Wednesday evening, I did a full load of "delicates" (washable business suits, slacks, camisoles) and set the washer for "Cold Water Wash" and "Cold Water Rinse". Imagine my shock when the washer timer chimed and I popped open the door - - and STEAM billowed up out of it! My boyfriend pulled the washer away from the wall and crawled behind it, and discovered that Mike had reversed the hot and cold water connections. My delicates had been washed and rinsed in VERY HOT water. Everything but one polyester-ish outfit shrank. From the day of install (Sat) until the day my clothes were ruined (Wed), we had only washed towels and sheets - - so of course we didn't notice anything wrong. Linens washed in COLD still come out clean. I called Right Appliances the next day and talked to Connie. She said Mike would call me back. *He never did.* The next day I caught Mike when he answered the phone and explained what happened. He was skeptical and asked why I hadn't figured out HIS error prior to washing expensive clothes. He said "his folks" would never accidentally swap water inlet hoses. He asked what side my hot faucet was on when looking at the wall. I was driving at the time and said my boyfriend would know and would call him back. He did, and reiterated what happened. Mike said he would check with his insurance to see if he was covered and would call us back. *He never did.* I have since called a half dozen times (it is now exactly two weeks later) and am told each time by Connie or another man that Mike is out on a job and will call me back. *He never has.* I did catch Mike this past Monday morning (June 29) and he said he hadn't heard back from his insurance company. I said that was incredibly odd because we own a small business and our insurance carrier has always responded the same day; TWELVE days seemed like an awfully long time to wait for a call back. He - again - said he would have to call me back. Which, of course, *he never did.* I have been nothing but pleasant and patient with him; I even let the second post-dated check go through because I thought perhaps his insurance would pay and I didn't want to be mean and stop payment on the check. I found receipts for most of the ruined clothes ($384.51) and have contacted a lawyer. We will send him a Demand Letter tomorrow, and if he does not reimburse me I will take him to small claims court.
Description of Work: Called Right Appliance for service on 10 year old Maytag Neptune front-load washer. I had used them once before for this washer. The owner, Mike Billingsley [Mike is his middle name], came out the next afternoon and said it was the same problem as before: a burned out mother board. So I purchased a used, new-ish Maytag Neptune from him which he installed *incorrectly* the next day by mixing up the hot and cold water connections.

Our 6 year old "out of warranty" $900 front loading washer had crashed for a 3rd time. I called the company on a Sunday and left a voice message. The company returned our call the next morning around 9am and made their house call that afternoon. The repair guy (also the owner) spent about 30 to 45 minutes checking out the washer. Conclusion: The drum was locked up because the bearings "crashed and burned." We were told 2 years earlier the bearings were getting bad and the repair would cost about $600. The next evening, we visited his store and purchased a used but repaired top load "super capacity" washer for $269. The replacement washer was installed by noon the next day...no delivery or installation charge...and they removed the busted front loader. The replacement washer had a 30 day warranty and has been reliable and has done an excellent job the last couple of months. It is also quieter than the $900 front loader (smile).
Description of Work: In home service call to determine why the drum in our front loading washer would no longer turn and wash the clothes.

He was quick to respond to the initial service request and completed his job in a timely and professional manner with a very resonable charge for his services.
Description of Work: Had problems with two separate appliances, a built-in oven and a cook top. On his first visit he checked the problems and ordered necessary parts. His next visit was two days later where he was accompanied by a helper who installed the necessary parts to put both appliances back in working order.

Washing machine needed repair. Called Sunday 3/29/09 and left detailed message and my cell phone number. Did not receive a return call on Monday, and was too busy to call them again. I called them Tuesday morning and spoke to the office. After describing the issues and potential fix, including providing part numbers for my model, they assured me a technician would call back and schedule a visit. No call back no visit. I hope their repeat business is booming, because with responsiveness like this to an Angie's list member, they won't be getting my new business, ever.

He was fantastic. He gave me a quote over the phone, and he came right out the next day and fixed it within an hour. One special thing I would like to point out is that I went to a website to self diagnosis the problem with the washing machine. When I called him, and described the problem, he was right on with what the website said. That really impressed me. He came and charged exactly what he said he would. I will use him again, if I run into another unfortunate situation, and I really think the service that Angie's list give's is fantastic.

He arrived the same day I called. He looked at where the ice maker was freezing and said there could possibly be a leak, but to try defrosting the area first. If it continues to freeze, then we will have to replace the ice maker, so he noted the information he would need on the invoice. He checked the refrigerator because it was freezing milk and vegetables and decided to try adjusting the temperature of both the refrigerator and freezer down prior to replacing the thermostat.

It went very well. When I called to schedule the appointment I left a message and my call was returned within 30 minutes. As it was late in the day when I called, I asked for a repair time of 4:00 the next day. The repairman arrived shortly after 4PM after calling to let me know he was on the way. After evaluating what needed to be done, he called and ordered the replacement parts and scheduled a follow-up appointment for the next day to replace the damaged parts. He arrived the next day as scheduled, replaced the parts and checked to be sure the washer was working well.
Description of Work: My washer was leaking water and making a very loud noise during the spin cycle. The repairman diagnosed the problem shortly after taking the front cover off. The drain hose had a hole from a nail that had gone through the washer and there was a bad bearing in the motor. He called and ordered a new motor and hose, scheduled a time to return the following day to replace both parts. The parts were replaced the next day as scheduled.

Our dryer stopped running in mid cycle on a Sunday. I checked Angie's List and chose this company based on the feedback. I called on Monday and scheduled an appointment on Tuesday morning. Mike arrived within the time window. He quickly dismantled the dryer and determined the problem was a safety fuse. He cleaned the inside of dryer mechanicals to remove built up lint, replaced the fuse and the dryer works fine. He also checked the vent stack to ensure the dryer was venting properly. All this work was done in less than an hour.

When I called, we discussed the problem which was that my ice maker was not ejecting the ice (as opposed to dispensing the ice). They were going to come the same day and were supposed to call me right before they came. However, he just showed up and I really wasn't prepared for him at that particular moment. He assessed the problem and determined I needed a new ice maker as the casting on the original one was broken. He ordered the ice maker while he was here. He said he misunderstood and thought maybe it was the dispenser that was not working. Anyway, he said he would be back around 3:00 the next day and ended up coming about 7:00 that evening (however, he did call right before he came to see if it was alright to come that late). It only took him about 5 minutes to de-install the old ice maker and install the new one. It works great now.

These folks are amazing. In both visits within 2 weeks, they were on time, gave incredible fast service and were very reasonable with their costs. I have been through a lot of these folks in the last 25 years I have lived in my house, and I finally feel that I have people who I can trust. CALL THESE FOLKS first. You will not be sorry.
Description of Work: They have done TWO different things for me in the last two weeks. One was my dryer. When I called they offered to come the SAME DAY. I was the person who put it off until the next day. They were right on time. It turned out that it was just the outside vent that was clogged on the side of the house. They made a specific point on also telling me that there was a part that may be a problem in 6 - 12 months, but, did not see any reason to do it today and cost me unnecessary money. WOW! Today, my gargage disposal went out at 4:00 and I had a dinner scheduled for 10 at my home at 7:00. Just on a off chance they could help in that timeframe, I called. They were at my home in 30 minutes, and it was fixed 30 minutes later. It had to be replaced, vs. just fixed, but I really knew that for quite a while because it was leaking. When he took it out, the rust was clearly there. He replaced it and EVERYTHING was done by 5:15. Only one hour and 15 minutes after I called! Now that is service that exceeds all expectations!

The repair man was professional and knew what he was doing.
Description of Work: The repairman was unable to fix the appliance for which he came out. (It was too new and didn't have authorization by manufacturer to make the repairs.) That might have been good for the office scheduler to clarify what type/brand of appliance. He was able to repair the ice maker in the refrigerator.

Mike arrived when he said he would and had a helper with him. They had to do a lot of work to get the oven installed (it was a built in). I think that the $100 installation fee was more than fair. Mike located a replacement oven that would fit and that I specified. I really wanted stainless to match the rest of the appliances.
Description of Work: My oven failed, it seems about 30 years old, so not unexpected. I called Right Appliance and Mike was able to come out the same day with what we hoped would be the right replacement part (Glow Bar). Unfortunately this didn't repair the problem and Mike recommended, I agreed, to replace the oven.

My wife had been having infrequent electric shocks when using our electric range. I had never been shocked and was somewhat skeptical of her reported shocks. I called the company after 3:30 PM and they arranged an appointment for 4:30 PM the same day. The technician thoroughly examined our electric range looking for the cause of occasional shocks that my wife had suffered when using it. He took the range apart and examined all parts looking for sources for the shocks. He didn't find any frayed wires or other obvious sources of the shocks. But he verified that there were 3 burners which sometimes had stray voltages ranging from low teens to fully 110 volts. He determined that there were no replacement parts for our old range and talked with his supplier to suggest possible replacement ranges. We determined that we would replace the range and use the "Right Appliances" to do the replacement.

The refrigerator in our Amana/Maytag bottom freezer wasn't working and there was a ton of food in it (we're setting up to do a lot of entertaining over the weekend). Mike came out within 90 mins. (compared to other companies on Angie's who were estimating 3-5 days) and fixed the problem within 40 mins. The connector from the freezer to the refrigerator was frozen over, and Mike defrosted it with a hair dryer. He also took the time to explain what had happened, what to look for to prevent it happening again, and was very patient until we understood what to do. Great guy.
Description of Work: Refrigerator wasn't working, Mike took some panels apart, defrosted the vents with a hair dryer, and got us going again. He thought there may be a problem with a control panel, and told us what to look for so we could give him advance notice on the problem, and he'd come replace the panel.
