I was going to another place and it was so disappointing with them that I went to Home Depot. Yeah, the experience with Home Depot was so much better.

I was there in January of 2015. It cost me I think about $1800. I went to Lowe's but it was so disappointing I ended up going to Home Depot.

First of all, this review is for the Home Depot at 2610 Fort Worth Avenue in Dallas. The system wouldn't let me add in the Fort Worth Avenue store, so I chose another one, in Garland. I suspect that these issues are syste Wmic so deal with them at your own risk. We ordered countertops and they said that the installers would be out to measure within 2 days. A week later we still hadn't heard anything so finally called them and complained. The store asst manager said she'd have the installers call me, and they did. The installers were Kat Fabricators, and we have absolutely no issues with them. They did a great job. After KAT came out and measured our cabinets they said that they'd get back with HD and once the price and order were validated with HD they'd schedule the install. A week later we still had not gotten a callback and called the store. Note that it's almost impossible to reach any of these store folks by phone. Everything goes to VM and if you're lucky, they'll eventually call you back. When we finally reached a rep, she told us that the price went up by $250 (not unreasonable, as we'd estimated the amount of square footage. We agreed and they charged our credit card for the additional $250. At that time, we told them that we had originally asked for a crème-colored sink but after talking to the measurer and looking at his samples, we'd like to change our color to pure white. The rep assured me that she'd handle the change. Note that HD required full payment up front. Even though they gave us a document from the state saying that a "statutory holdback" of 10% was needed to preserve some of our legal rights, they still wanted zero holdback. They finally came out today to install the countertops and the sink was crème, not white. We called the store and left a message with an assistant manager asking to speak to a manager. The manager was not available. Since it would take several more weeks to redo the sink color (it was an integrated sink, we agreed to go ahead with the install and accepted the crème color. By the end of the day, we still had not gotten a callback from a manager. All the issues are in HD's court. When you're dealing with a big box store like this, the folks you are dealing with are salespeople, and minimally trained. They don't communicate worth a d***. We'd have been totally satisfied had we dealt only with KAT. The HD people only got in the way and screwed things up. Deal directly with the subcontractor, not through a HD salesperson.

I don’t trust this company. I don’t think they’re doing a good job checking who their subcontractors are. I was told by the Home Depot people before I contacted Red Beacon that they were new but were having some problems. The contractors used subcontractors and never even checked up on the work. I’m out 1200 dollars because of the poor quality of the work.

So far they're great, the guy I'm going to use (He's coming out today). From Red Beacon (through Home Depot), within three minutes I had three contractors, then they call you, you tell them what you want and they call you and all three called. With some businesses on Angie's list, half the time some of them don't even call you back! And then when they come out it's not a big enough job or whatever. That's the problem we've had with Angie's list.

They were very professional and we just like the way they handled it. Cost seems good.

They did a great job. We had a deadline and they insured that we made our deadline. They let us keep the extra roof tiles that we had bought instead of hauling them off and keeping them like other contractors do. We paid no more than the insurance claim. They were all very professional, they were fast, and they cleaned up their mess. I was quite pleased. I felt their guarantee was good since they are an established company. We have used them before for roofing. A previous instance when we had hail damage and on our house in Dallas.

It was a great experience. They did an excellent job and I had no problems.

Home Depot sent a sub-contractor to install the tiles. I was very pleased with Home Depot. The tile that I ended up selecting was a special order but fortunately it was an original company, a Texa company, so they were able to get the tiles within a week and I was impressed by that. The Home Depot headquarters schedulars and project management folks were really good at keeping us informed and getting us on the schedule rather promptly. It's a pretty gruelling job and the installers did pretty much three days of good, solid hard work with the removal of the o-rings that we had in our kitchen and our spare bathroom; one day putting down the tiles and then the second day grouting and cleaning. It was a well done installation. The guys were quite expert at the task and we could find no flaw in their work. We asked that the tiles be installed diagonally rather than rectangularly and it turned out to be a rather attractive finished product. So my wife and I are both very pleased with the selection that we made and the fact that Home Depot was able to get it for us and with the installers, the subcontractors, two very respectful and professional installers did a great job.

It was a disaster. They sent blinds that didn't fit and were warped. They replaced the blinds with different colors and different brands. They were cheaply made and fall apart when you try to raise and lower them. They were defective and they refused to deal with me anymore. I would not recommend them to anyone.
