Description of Work: My upstairs unit sprung too many leaks to repair. So they ordered a new (and better quality) unit/coil and installed as promised for the quoted price. Guys were neat and professional.

Description of Work: On a new build installation of an 18 SEER unit, they installed a sub standard coil which failed the first year. I took them to small claims court but the judge said my beef was with the general contractor which had already closed their business in Texas. Several other AC contractors stated that the evaporator coil that they used was sub-standard for the 18 SEER unit and was doomed to fail. It was AC101. I would not do business with this company.

Starn installed our air conditioning system as part of a new home build in 2011. Following a few months, under our warranty, we called them out to balance our air conditioning system as parts of the home were not being cooled. A technician visited the home and reportedly corrected this issue twice, but the problem continued. Following the second visit, the technician advised that the system installed was not strong enough for the home we lived in (this was disputed by the home builder). The issue has never been resolved, however in the past few weeks we have noticed that the issue is getting worse. I called Starn to request a service and balancing (explaining the history, and offering to pay), and the person who answered (owner perhaps) said he would get back to me in the next couple of days. No response to date. Moving on to another more reputable provider.
Description of Work: Failed to correct air conditioning issue, and failed to respond to request for service.

We came home from work on a hot July Wednesday evening (5:30pm) to find our AC not working, inside temperature was 87. We called Starn (the company that installed our unit) told them that the unit was not working at all, circuit breakers had been tripped and outside unit looked like some wires had been fried. They told us that someone would contact us to set up a time to come out. We did not receive a call that evening. Due to the hot temperatures we could not afford to wait any longer for a return call so I joined Angie's list in hopes of finding a more responsive company.
Description of Work: No services was performed. Only talked with the call service. Never received a call back.

Never provided an estimate before work commenced. Spent 2 hours on the job and presented a bill for $1,800 that did not even break out parts and labor. Never responded to request for further detail. Never responded to BBB complaint.

They are not responsive. They send unlicensed people to do the work. They could not find a life safety issue before it got overwhelming. People got headaches and went home because they could not fix the problem. The price was cheap.
Description of Work: They replaced a compressor. Then there was a gas leak, and they kept looking for it, but were not able to find it.
