About us

Gregory Rohde started in 1973 in Garland TX as a wholesale nursery. A few years later, he moved nearby to 1651 Wall Street and started Rohde's Nursery, which evolved into Dallas' first totally organic plant nursery, specializing in native Texas plants. He has always done lawn maintenance work also, but that evolved to included landscape design, installation, & hardscape projects. Recently we are downsizing to work only on the Landscaping business. Know that we have the knowledge and experience that comes from being there at the beginning of the organic movement in Dallas horticulture. Many of our crew members have been with us for as long as we have done landscaping work. They do remarkable work with fencing, stonework, and metal work, and can create many designs from just your ideas. Services Offered: Our services are available in the North and East parts of Dallas, Texas and the suburbs North and East of Dallas. Please call to see if we can service your area: 972-864-1934. - Mowing, edging, cleanup - Organic Fertilizing including Deep Tree Root Injection for drought protection & recovery - Architectural Landscape Design - Preparing beds - Planting flowers, trees, shrubs, installing sod - Mulching & composting - Pruning trees, shrubs, and cleaning up perennials - Tree & Shrub removal & stump grinding - Weed control - Exterior Pest control, dormant oil spraying & mosquito control - Aeration & compost top dressing of lawns - Drainage correction - Winter prep, cleaning rain gutters, cleanup of lawns for the holidays - Air Spading for Trees to uncover the root flare of trees planted too deep in the ground - Howard Garrett's Sick Tree Treatment & pre-evaluation Installation or repair of water features, walkways, fences, gates, retaining walls, patios, arbors, covers, grill-pads, planting boxes, & most other hardscape items. We can do custom work. We have experience working with wood, brick, stone, tile, gravel, concrete, & metal.
