O'Brien Pro Irrigation

First, let me say that I purposely held onto writing my review for almost a year because I wanted to see the long-term quality of the work O'Brien Irrigation did for me. Well, it's been 10 months and I couldn't be happier. I was having a new outdoor patio, about 750 sqft of new pavers, added to my back and side yard. The space was previously unusable because of 3 gutter downspouts from my house and 2 downspouts from my neighbors house all emptying into the side yard. Basically, the side yard was mud almost all of the time. I went through 5 different irrigation/sprinkler companies to get their ideas of how to solve my problem, as well as how they would work in conjunction with the contractor doing the patio/paver work and O'Brien Irrigation came out on top by a long-shot. They weren't the least expensive but I could tell they were the best value. Don was very interactive and informative through the entire process. He listened when I shared my ideas and give constructive feedback and alternatives. There were times when the ideas I had would have meant more money for O'Brien but Don was quick to make sure I knew of a less expensive way that would actually be better in the long-run, he was right by the way. At the end of the day I was extremely happy with the job they did, their professionalism, and willingness to work with me and all of my quirky questions and suggestions. I would hire them again in a heartbeat and so should you. 10 months later and not a single issue with anything. Great Job! The system was checked and it was found that I needed a new head and when my new fence was recently constructed, a PVC line was broken and needed to be repaired. These were done quickly and efficiently.

The person who came out claimed to be the owner of O’Brien pro irrigation. He looked at a broken sprinkler pipe that I had already dug up and told me that he could not fix the pipe because my system was not up to code and before he could make any repairs I would have to bring the system up to code. Then he told me that it was his duty to report me to this state agency who regulates the industry and that I could be fined $10,000 if I did not make the required upgrades. He also stated that it was his duty to report me or he could lose his license. I was skeptical about what he was telling me so the next morning I contacted Rowlett city inspection department. The code enforcement inspector told me he didn’t know what Mr O’Brien was talking about and didn’t know why he didn’t just make the minor repair. The inspector also told me that as the homeowner I could fix it myself something that Mr. O’Brien told me I could not do because I have no license from the state to work on irrigation systems. Then Mr. O’Brien showed up with a bid proposal to upgrade my system which I did not even look at and told him to leave and not come back because everything he had told me the day before have been contradicted by the Rowlett city inspector. I can only assume that the minor repair was not worth his time or trouble so he created a whole new expensive scenario using scare tactics to try to convince me to let him do additional unneeded work. I called another company out of Rockwall who made the repair for $35 because I had already dug it up on the condition I would fill the hole back in. I usually don’t review but in this case I made an exception because he kept bragging about how he was an exceptional preferred contractor with Angie’s list so that’s who I left a review with.

They are without a doubt one of the most professional and knowledgeable guys I have ever seen. (And I have seen a lot - none as good as these guys) They do really outstanding work, at reasonable prices. They are strictly top of the line in ever detail including great personalities. Will use only this company for all my sprinkler needs in the future-

They were very kind and professional. There was a rain storm on the day of scheduled repair. They called to inform of the delay and need to reschedule. They were right on time on the rescheduled day and were super fast.

It was great! He came very promptly and knew exactly what he was doing. He was very trustworthy and did a really good job! I would recommend this company.

It went fine! I had someone out before O'Brien who charged more and didn't do it right. O'Brien came out and did everything they were supposed to and I've never had anymore problems out of it.

I like that they are very nice and they do what they say they're going to do. They did a great job and they cleaned up after themselves. I've used them before this and they replaced some heads and went through the system to make it was running ok. They came out promptly when I called them, I was happy.

It went great. They finished up in just a few hours. They were on time and did a great job. I haven't had any problems since they were out.

I've known him for years and they provide an excellent service. I have a tree service company and use Tim for all of my clients to repair their lawn irrigation systems. I would recommend him and use him, again.

They were quick, accurate, and they did an outstanding job. They were recommended to us and we had some dying bushes in our lawn. Because of Dawn's maintenance and realizing what needed to happen, our bushes are now growing again. We were thrilled. These are the kind of people who come out and remember you like family.

The first time I used this service the price seemed fair this is why I went back this year. I worked construction myself and I am surprised by the mark up on the prices of material. For example, I paid 3 times the internet price for a valve and the price for a box of 50 wire nuts when 2 were used.. Responsiveness and service were excellent. Happy to pay double for material on a service truck.

Jim was great to work with. He was prompt, honest, diligent, professional, fast and reasonably priced. He was well equipped, and he had the equipment to do the job. He was very accommodating; even while he was here correcting the electrical problem, he put on a sprinkler head for me. I would recommend him to others. I would rate him highly and would use him again in the future if necessary.

Tim is excellent at trouble shooting. He can come up with a solution and have it resolved very quickly. I've recommended him to many others with great success. His prices are also reasonable for the quality of work received and the speed in which it's completed! When working with O'Brien Pro, you know you'll be working with the owner himself (and maybe an assistance) and not worry about an untrained crew. Tim is a true expert.
