+ -1 moreHIS Overhead Door came out on a Saturday morning and replaced the circuit board on a garage door that had been damaged by a lightning strike near our house. They were there on time and completed the repair in 30 minutes. The serviceman was very courteous, professional and efficient. I have used HIS Overhead Door service ever since I moved into my house almost 10 years ago. They have performed service at my home at least 3-4 times during this time. During this time, their service has always remained the same. They have always worked around and accomodated my work schedule. I highly recommend this company and I will continue to use them in the future.

+ -1 moreI like to use small businesses especially in Garland to support them and to also receive more personal service than the large franchises, but in this case, it was treated very impersonally. I would be embarrassed to charge someone over $100 to replace a battery for them and would have to expect that they wouldn't be a returning customer if I did that.
Description of Work: I have used this company two times prior to this time and was very satisfied with their response, services, and price. The first time they replaced a garage door opener at my father's home when the spring broke, the second time the same door wouldn't close and they fixed it and sold me another opener for the door. So, when the keypad at my house wouldn't work, I called and arranged for someone to come out and check it. He was a few hours later than he was expected and I wasn't home, but my son was. The person who came only replaced the battery in the keypad and charged $ 104.36 - because they have a flat $99 service call fee, then added the charge for the battery, plus tax. We had changed the battery, but the repair person said the size of the battery he put in was a little longer, so it works - not everytime, but most times. I'm dissatisfied because I wasn't cautioned that it could just be a battery when I called with the symptoms, then wasn't told about the $99 flat service call fee. I didn't know they had a flat fee as the previous two services were different and required much more "service" on their part. To just replace a battery for a returning customer for $ 104.36 was very disappointing. I wasn't home as the person came later than they promised. I didn't mind him coming later, but if his service call is worth $99 no matter what the service, he shouldn't have been late. Unfortunately, I'll have to call someone else, hopefully from your list if I need garage door services for my house or my Dad's in the future and I'll be careful to ask about flat service call charges.

+ -1 moreI called yesterday afternoon. Phone was answered by a person, so I did not have to leave a message and wait for a call back. I was told someone would be here this morning 8-9. Larry showed up just before 9, and had the job done in 5 minutes. I used him once before, when spring on my garage door broke, and it was just the same. He answers the phone, shows up when he says, and gets the job done quickly. I wouldn't call anyone else.

+ -1 moreI CALLED HIM, HE ASSURED ME THIS WAS NORMAL, AND NOT TO BE ALARMED. MY REMOTE STOPPED WORKING. AFTER CALLING OTHER COMPANIES, THEY TOLD ME THAT THE WORK WAS HIGHLY SUSPECT AND UNNECESSARY. HE TIGHTENED THE SPRINGS SO THAT THEY WOULD BREAK. I FEEL HE HAS A LACK OF BUSINESS ETHICS, AND THEY MAY BE KNOWLEDGEABLE, BUT THEY ARE NOT ETHICAL.
Description of Work: THE OWNER CAME AND MADE AN ADJUSTMENT ON MY GARAGE DOOR AND IT STARTED TO MAKE AN UNUSUAL NOISE.
