Fred's Garage Doors

You want one of the most honest companies I've dealt with to help you with your garage door...Fred's Garage is the company to use. Repairman came on time, was very nice, and explained everything well. He gave me an up front price to fix all of the things he had recommended and even lubricated each of the moving pieces that a true "tune-up" typically includes. However, most companies tell you that they will lubricate the different moving parts, but rarely does it seem to actually happen. Very pleased with this company and would certainly use them again.

Shockingly prompt; within an hour of my call, the garage door spring was replaced and operational. Courteous, professional, efficient, and accepted Angie's coupon. Also lubricated my GDO as part of the service. Don't think the process could have been any better, period!

Everything turned out wonderful. Fred came out and gave a free estimate. Roberto came out and performed the work. They were very professional, polite, tidy, and did a wonderful job.

Nate was on time, dressed for the part and looked over the work thoroughly before commenting on the scope of what needed to be done. He actually did all the work above for LESS than what he thought it might cost. It was refreshing to deal with Nate after the catastrophe that was a competitor that came out and immediately insisted that repairing the door would cost $600. Nate did the work quickly and was very helpful in suggesting some solutions for the old garage door for a longer term solution. I would definitely use Fred's again!

My family came home from church on Sunday and found that our garage door would only open a couple of inches then fall back to the ground. We parked the minivan and came inside through the back door and I looked around a bit. I could see the cables that pull the garage door were loose so I assumed they had somehow broken or come off the pulley. I am not too familiar with the door mechanics so I left it alone and went to work to find someone to fix it. After reading a few reviews on Angie's List it appears this is fairly common. I searched through the providers and found Fred's Garage Doors. I called first thing Monday morning and spoke to Fred. After describing my symptom's Fred explained it was probably the spring that had broken. They were available to fix it that morning but I had a dr's appointment and asked if I could move the appointment to the afternoon. He agreed that would be fine. After lunch, I met with Nate from the company and he showed me the broken garage door spring and explained what he would be doing to fix it. He went to work and very quickly (~30-45 mins) had the door fixed and working again. He lubed up all the mechanical parts and also explained how the door operates. He explained that some garages have two springs but older homes like mine only needed one. And thus when I tried to lift the door without a working spring, the full weight of the door would usually prevent most people from lifting it (like me :-) When I asked about replacing the rollers (those appear to be common "Great Deal" specials on Angie's list) he explained that what I had was not top of the line but they were working fine and there was no need to replace them. I really appreciate that honesty. The price was great also. The price of the service is normally $195 but with the $10 Angie's List coupon total came out to $185. Overall this was a great experience and I will definitely call them again in the future for any garage door repair needs.

Tech arrived pretty much on time. surmised the work needed. Indicated that a new door was needed, advised that could not afford at that time, ,tech did perform tune-up which got the door working again.

Roberto did an excellent job! He was quick, efficient and professional. He let me know what was wrong and gave me a fair price to fix the problem. He came out the day that I called, as they always do (for whatever reason we break our garage door a lot). Roberto also adjusted the door, so it's stealthly quiet now. I will continue to use their services...hopefully not anytime soon, LOL.

Works now. Only issue is the fee. My friend had the same service from a different company recently and was charged half as much.

My call was answered promptly, and they came within two hours of that call - exactly when they said they would. Did a great job. Would definitely use again.

My experience with Fred's was great all the way around. Around noon on Wednesday I found that my garage door won't open and saw that one of the springs was broken. I looked on Angie's List and came up with Fred's. Called. Fred answered and we set up an appointment for the next morning - I was worried about needing to get to work, and he assured me that his guy would be on time and that the process won't take very long. He quoted me a price, and that was that. The next morning, right on time, his guy arrived at my door - polite, respectful, nice - he went right to work and had my door fixed in no time. The bill was exactly the amount that Fred had quoted me. As simple and straightforward as I could have hoped for. Everything was just as smooth as it could be.

I called this morning to request a repair on my garage door. The gentlemen that answered said he'd have someone here in an hour and a half. Roberto showed up in 30 minutes or less! I was so pleased. After about another 30 minutes, the repair was completed and the garage door works well.

Nate responded to my service request in less than 2 hours from the time I called on the same day. He had outstanding knowledge of garage doors and automatic openers and patiently gave us sound answers to our questions. Without question, we would call Fred's Garage Doors for any future garage door needs - repair or replacement! It was a pleasure to deal with a repair person who took pride in doing quality work and was obviously well educated on garage doors. We felt the charge for his service was quite reasonable.

Got up this morning. Garage door would only open about a foot. Called Fred's. Made an appt for 3:30pm. Roberto showed up right at 3:30. Assesed problem and replaced 1 broken spring and 1 worn out spring. Took about about an hour. Reasonable price, on time and professional. Very happy with the service.

The technician from Fred's was great! He was friendly, on time and diagnosed and performed the needed work quickly. I was leaving town for the weekend and Fred's was able to get me on their schedule with little delay (either same day or next day - I can't remember now). Two years later and I haven't had any problems. My door had also been very noisy...slamming shut. Little did I know that it simply needed to be adjusted. The technician fixed this also resulting in a nearly silent garage door!

I came home at 7:30 pm last night to find my wooden garage door panel kicked in leaving a hole big enough for anyone to crawl through (attempted burglary). I immediately got on Angie's list and found Fred. Even that late Fred called back within 10 minutes and helped me figure out a solution so my home would be safe again - he was great to deal with! Roberto came out first thing this morning, on time, put in a new steel door, no windows. I feel so safe now! He was very nice and professional - he did a wonderful job.

The track was fixed, the garage re-hung and a tune-up done. The guy was super helpful and courteous.

Scheduling appointment was painless and quick. Tech came out checked everything out. He was on time and did a great job. Garage door doesn't pop anymore and is much quieter after adjustment and greasing. Very pleased with service.

Called Fred and he was not able to get there personally but sent one of his team who turned up when expected and did a great job!

Fred arrived on time and within an hour or so from the time of my call. He was very professional and efficient. I felt very comfortable with his diagnosis and repair job. I would definitely use him again.

I called them and I left a message and he called me back so we scheduled for Monday morning. He came exactly at the time he said he was going to be here. The quality of work was excellent. He was very professional, punctual and it was a pleasure to have him here.

The guy was here when he said he was going to be here and he assessed the problem very quickly and got it done.

Fred was prompt and did a great job.

They actually answered the phone. I made an appt for 9am and they were there at 9am. Took about an hour1 DONE

The coil on my garage door snapped last night. I called Fred's this morning. They told me someone could be at the house between 10:00 and 11:00. Nate showed up shortly after 10 and got right to work. The whole process probably took 30 minutes. Nate did a great job, and I would certainly use them again.

Garage door was getting stuck due to the foundation shifting. Roberto adjusted the whole thing and even re-mounted the sensors for me. Very polite. Took about an hour and cost $130. I'd recommend them and I'd use them again.
