Fred's Garage Doors

He does a good job although at times the garage continues to get stuck. It is under warranty and so I do not pay for spare time. The problem is they keep fixing it instead of replacing it.

Both times I’ve used them, they were excellent. The first time I called Fred, I asked him what a replacement would cost and he told me and when the young man got here, he said first let’s see what we can do with what you’ve got and he replaced the part and absolutely tightened everything and serviced that door perfectly. I had a perfectly working door at a very nominal cost.

Fred came, introduced himself and his company, he viewed the damage, the door, the springs and rollers and asked how it happened - then evaluated the situation and explained what it did and what needed to be done to repair, time involved and the cost for the repair. Once he quoted the cost and knowing the Angie ratings his company has - I said, done - Fix it. (very impressed with the price and there was no service fee as other companies had quoted me) Fred started the work, he was clean, professional, repaired what was needed then serviced the garage door and it was much smoother and quieter that previous. I was very happy!

Garage door would not open. I could see that the chain was loose. Called Fred's and scheduled an appointment for the next day. Technician arrived as scheduled and completed the work in a couple of hours. He showed me the broken part and explained that the weight of our solid wood door just makes these parts wear out more often. This is the second time I've used Fred's for garage door repairs and both times I've found them to be efficient and professional. It's amazing how quietly the garage door operates after they've adjusted it. I will definitely continue to use this company for future service needs.

Fred himself came to do the job within an hour of me calling. A+ professional work at an A+ price. I will share his information with my friends.

What terrific service. They came on time, were extremely courteous, and did a great job of fixing our garage door quickly and making other adjustments as well - at a very reasonable price!

This is the second time I have had them come out for work. They went above and beyond. There was a bolt that and come out and I didn’t know where it had come from. The technician who came out did a lot of work in found that the bolt came from one of the springs and tuned of the rest of the parts. For everything that they did, the price was very fair. The final cost was just as it was quoted.

That was a good service. He was highly rated, came out and did a good job. I even used him again a couple months ago for another garage door tune up for myself.

Repairman was very prompt, if not a few minutes early. I had pre-purchased a new opener. It took about 2 hours for him to remove the old opener and put the new one in. He made sure that all the remotes worked and that the rollers were functioning correctly.

Fred inspected the door, cleaned the infra red light safety fixtures at the bottom of the door opening, checked the chain/belt, lubed the rollers and channel and ensured that the door was operating as designed. In addition he was able to acommodate my request for new opener/remotes that would each operate my electric driveway gate and the garage door. I was very pleased with his work.

Fred answered the phone and came out promptly the next day to give us an estimate on replacing and repairing 3 separate garage doors for us. He's friendly, fair and straight forward with honesty. His quote was very reasonable and from the reviews on Angie's list it was apparent he had a great company with over 25+ years of experience. The following day another worker came out and completely replaced the rails, springs and panels of our worn out garage door and then installed a weatherstripping seal around both garage doors. Our garage is now almost Air Tight! Finally they replaced 4 panels in our back shed where the panels had gotten dented from a previous owner. All doors are working great and super quiet. Highly recommend this vendor for any garage door needs!

This went very well. I called and scheduled an appointment. The guy over the phone understood what I was telling him and he quoted me a price over the phone. He said someone would show up between 8-10. The guy showed up at exactly 8. I needed a piece of rail replaced that got bent. The worker was nice and went straight to work. He replaced the rail and then I could tell he was curious about the garage door. I bought the house 5 years ago and the automated garage came with the house. I could see him pulling and jiggling parts of the rail and by the look on his face i knew something was wrong. Even after the rail was replaced, the guy spend about another 20 min adjusting the rails and then screwing them into place. I think the entire rail system for the garage had 6 screws holding it in place, causing a lot of wiggle. After the guy got the rails in place and added more screws the rails did not budge. He sprayed some lube on the rollers and that bad boy glides now. I was hoping the guy wouldn't quote me more than the $160 which I was willing to pay for just the rail. At the end I only paid the $160, took the guy an hour maybe. very nice guy and knew what he was doing. This place is legit.

They came out on Friday to fix (or replace) a 30 yr. old garage door opener. The door was a 64 yr old solid wooden door & needed some repair. They suggested that it should be replaced - and they're right! They found one that looked great with the architecture. I hadn't replaced the door because I didn't like what I'd seen on line. They showed up on Monday on time, did a great job, cleaned up, gave me pointers on maintenance, and left everything in better shape than they'd found it. They even swept out the garage for me, not just the construction mess, but the whole thing!

Someone had backed into my older Hollywood Style two car garage door which left it bowed inward, broke a hinge totally off, knocked it out of alignment and popped a roller off. It was a mess and would not open or close fully - not to mention the panel missing the hinge was falling off. Sort of a "hanging on by a thread" type situation. I didn't want to replace the door if possible as it still worked otherwise, so I called Fred based on Angie's List reviews. First spoke to him on Thursday, he was out here on Friday on the dot at the expected time. We discussed replacing or repairing and I waited a few hours to mull it over. I called him back Friday afternoon and we settled on Monday morning to just repair the problem. He called when he got here, at the appointed time, and went to work with repair. The job was successfully completed in one hour. Very pleasant man to deal with - he didn't try to press me into a new door when this one could be fixed, even though it is old and was in pretty bad shape from being damaged. I have a feeling I could have been told that it NEEDED replacement, but he assured me it could be repaired. I'd definitely recommend him for repair of your garage door service. No pressure, friendly, genial, timely, informative, professional and did a great job. The door now opens and closes with ease, no screeching, rubbing or anything and the panel is secured with new bolts and I don't have to worry about it falling apart. All the problems were taken care of at an affordable price. Thanks, Fred!

They were excellent. Timely, professional, knowledgeable, courteous - you name it. Nate explained what he was doing every step of the way and why he was doing it. I will only use them in the future. This is the second garage door company I have used off Angie's list. The first was unsatisfactory, so I was a bit leery and watched everything he did.

The door was exactly done to my specifics. Excellent work. The installer was very courteous, very professional very punctual. They called before they came to the house. The price was very reasonable.

One spring had broken of the pair on my garage door. The remaining spring was not strong enough to lift the door by itself, but if I helped it during opening then I could get it open to get my car out. It's recommended to replace both springs at the same time, so that's what I wanted. Other reviews of Freds indicate that they can usually come out within hours of the first call, but I wasn't in a rush and scheduled it for later in the week when I could be there. Roberto arrived promptly at the scheduled time and replaced both springs quickly, checked the overall function of the door operation which was fine, and that was that. They have a 1 year warranty on parts and 90 days warranty on the labor. I was very pleased with the service and will definitely call Fred's first in the future.

Installed garage door. Very professional. Garage door broke, so they came out and diagnosed it, then replaced the part under warranty for free the next day. They charged $40, which is half their minimum service charge. Only disappointment is they are not open on the weekend.

If you want an honest, trustworthy, reliable garage door company with a strong customer focus, look no further than Fred's Garage Doors. Either Fred, Nate or Robert have been to our house on 5 or 6 occasions and each time they are ON TIME, professional and focused on the task at hand. They explain what needs to be done and why and always seem to look for 'little things' that they can do while completing the job, such as resetting the clock to the correct time. They charge fairly for their work and stand behind it, which to me is even more important. They are always courteous and friendly and as a senior I appreciate that. I will never use anyone else except Fred and his team.
