Fred's Garage Doors

I had a great experience today with Fred's Garage Doors! I sent an email late at night through their website, and someone called me early the next morning to schedule an appointment, as I had requested. Fred showed up at the scheduled time, and was very efficient and friendly. He explained all repair options and costs to me. He also fixed my keyless entry, and made the buttons inside my car open the garage too. My garage door works like new now! I highly recommend him.

I called to repair a garage door that had a broken spring. The service guy was on time, finished the repair with an hour and a half and charged me the amount quoted. He replaced both garage door springs and oiled and cleaned the door mechanism. Now the garage door works again and is so quiet my dogs don't even hear me coming.

When the service man arrived on time, he knew right away that a part needed to be replaced. He had the part on his truck & took the time to show it to me, so I could compare it with the part that was worn out. I felt like he was actually trying to help me, not just sell parts. He completed the best tune up that the door has had & I would call him again without thinking twice..

The work was done as quoted. The repairman arrived on time, although it was not the person who I was told would do the work on the phone. Nevertheless, he was quick & efficient. A few days later we noticed that the main garage door did not completely go to the ground. We called Fred's and they sent someone back out promptly and re-adjusted the door at no charge with no hassle.

My garage door (builder's grade and OLD to boot) had the top panel bowing so I knew I had to replace it or repair it soon. I called and Fred came out the next day. He arrived promptly and was to ready give me the options. All options were offered (low to high). I would need to make a decision about replacing one or 2 of the panels, or panels and rails, whichever would work best for me and my budget. I called only one other company and even though the price difference was only a few dollars, the quote was done over the phone and seemed very impersonal. After thinking it through for 2 weeks, I chose to get the garage door replaced by Fred's with the rails, springs, etc. When I called to make an appointment, Mary Grace in the office gave me the date I requested which was a relief. When making the appointment, I decided to also get the garage door opener, with 2 remotes and outside keypad. The technician Robert arrived on time and he wasted no time in starting the installation. He was very gracious when I asked him to set aside all the panels and parts since they would be installed at a needy family's home by a family friend. He was halfway through the installation when the pest control technician asked us to move the panels/parts away from the house so he could dig a trench and complete termite treatment. Robert again obliged and moved the parts as requested with a smile. The installation was completed in the time frame I was given which allowed me to go with my plans for the day. Later that weekend a strange event occurred, the garage door kept opening on its own. (not closing, just opening!) That next Monday I asked that they come to check the installation. Robert came out and found that the original wiring attached to the garage door opener and wall switch was not working properly so within minutes it was fixed. My garage door has been working perfectly ever since. I will recommend Fred's Garage Doors to anyone and everyone. He is an honest man, has fair pricing, and what is MOST important to me - he and his staff have the best customer service around. I am a customer for life!

WONDERFUL!!! Fred arrived within an hour of my phone call. Very courteous and professional. Had the problem fixed within 30 minutes. I will need to replace my garage door within the next few years. Fred provided me with a very reasonable quote. I highly recommed this company.

I emailed Fredsgaragedoors.com on friday afternoon. I described my problem and the solutions I had tried in the past. Fred called me and left a message a couple of hours later. When I didn't call, he called again Saturday morning around 10am. We talked briefly and in less than 30 minutes he was at my house. He programmed a new remote and we tested it. (I am a fairly technical person and had replace the openers previously. I was not getting a good signal from inside my car. I spent $80 on two remotes only to return them). The opener tested fine in the driveway. When I told him I was unable to do so in the car, he tested that too finding the opener did not work. He replaced the receiver which has a longer antenna and the openers work perfectly. He charged exactly what we discussed, $125.00. This was for a new reciever and 2 remotes. He did exactly what he said he would do and came in on budget. I am very pleased with his work, work ethic, pricing and promptness.

We called Fred on Easter, he answered and was there first thing the next day to fix our garage door. He also fixed a couple of other small issues while he was there that he noticed needed attention without my asking him to do so and without charging me extra for his time. We will be calling him again (hopefully not too soon) if we need garage door repairs. Great guy, very professional.

Both times I called him, he returned my called within minutes. I was given a two-hour window during which I could expect him to show. That morning we were hit by a pretty severe thunderstorm. Fred's advised me that he was caught in traffic but that he should arrive within the two hour window. He did. Fred was professional, pleasant, and fast. I will definitely use him again.

I called them at 8:30 on Mon. morning & Fred was here about 12:30. (He could've come earlier, but I had an appt.) He said he could replace just one spring for $180 or both for $225. I knew that if one had broken, the other might not be too far behind, so had him replace both. He also lubricated everything & made a couple of adjustments. He was finished in about 45 minutes and my garage now opens & closes like a charm! He was very professional, friendly and tidy.

During a power outage one morning, I needed to go to work and needed the garage door opened. I released the Opener and tried to raise the door manually. I found the 18' door very heavy and difficult to open. Knowing this and that there should be raise assist from the springs, I called Fred's Garage Doors to come adjust my weak springs to assist the Opener. They were very punctual and professional in their work. I don't think I've ever seen a worker work so fast. He replaced the weak springs, serviced the door and adjusted the opener in less than an hour. I am completely satisfied with the experience and will recommend Fred's Garage Doors to my townhouse neighbors.

Fred came out soon after I called and looked at the door. The main problem was a worn sprocket in the electric opener, but the door and springs were also in need of replacement. A technician came out the next morning and replaced the door, springs, tracks and sprocket. The door was a better quality than the old one which I purchased 15 years earlier and the price was only a small amount more. The technician actually did more than was required to make the door satisfactory to us. I would not hesitate to recommend this contractor to anyone having a problem with a garage door.

I contacted Fred's Garage Door because my garage door had come off it's track. I called at 9am, and Fred came at approximately 1pm the same day. He was very professional and courteous, and had the garage door back on track on no time. In addition, I asked him to check my garage door opener since it's quite old. He checked it and said it was working fine, and he recommended that I just continue to use it until it quits. I appreciated that he didn't try to sell me something that I didn't need right then.

Our house was built in 1961 and still had the original garage door opener. As expected it finally stopped working. I contacted Dallas Overhead Door initially after a Google search. The technician came out and after looking at the garage he informed me there was nothing he could do. He informed me the garage door was not a standard size and the configuration of the door opener was unorthodox. He said he never had walked away from a job until now. I asked him for suggestions. He suggested Hollywood Door. I called Hollywood Door and they seemed eager to take on a challenging project. The tech from Hollywood Door came out and was also unable to help. He said our clearance was insufficient from the front of the garage to where the opener needed to be placed on the ceiling. He also said the height of the garage was insufficient for a a new opener. He had no further suggestions. My next step was check The List. I found Fred's and noticed the high grades. I called and they sent out a technician named Roberto. He said he couldn't fix the current opener because of it's age. He said he could come back on Tuesday 2-9-10 and replace the opener without any problem. I was skeptical after 2 other companies said they knew of no way to do the job. Roberto came back on Tuesday and after about 3 hours the job was completed. The new opener is a major upgrade in terms of technology and safety. We now have up to date laser sensors to stop the door in case one of our dogs or our little girl walks under the door while it is closing. I fail to understand why 2 other companies could not replace a garage door opener that Fred's found so easy to replace. Until Fred's came along my wife and I were looking at major remodels to the garage that would allow for a new garage door opener to be installed. We were contemplating lowering the garage floor and reconfiguring the structural beams on the ceiling because it seemed we had no other options. Fred's was able to save us thousands of dollars with their install. Thank you Fred's. We're telling all our friends.

The installer arrived on time. He worked very quickly and was done in 1 hour and 15 minutes. Before he left, he checked all the adjustments and the safety reversal system.

Called and set up appt. for next day.. repair person was right on time and did what he was supposed to very quickly.

It turned out there was a lot of grease build up in the track. He told me to keep greasing it and it would loosen up and work. He was right and it will now open. There was nothing wrong with it.

He came out quickly and did the work. He was pleasant. I thought it was reasonably priced for what he did. I've used him before.

I called because my garage door would not close all the way. Fred could come out the very next day. We scheduled an appointment between 11:30 and 12:00. He arrived early and I was not there. He went ahead and looked at my garage and gave me a call with an estimate. By the time I got to the house, he had completed the service, and it took 6 minutes from the time I parked my car, to pay and be on my way again. He also charged less than originally quoted when I told him I found him on Angie's list He said there was a coupon on the website and he honored the coupon even though I never mentioned it. Two weeks later, I called again because the door wasn't closing. Fred asked if I had checked the sensors but, by that time, I had already pulled it closed manually and couldn't get it open by myself. Fred came out and looked at tiand verified it was in fact that the sensore were blocked. He was very patient, taught me some things about my garage door and charged nothing. Fred is a customer service oriented super star who does what needs to be done for a fair price. Additionally, as someone who lacks A lot in understanding home mechanics, his ability to explain without being demeaning or talking over my head is a pleasant surprise. For that, he has won a long-term customer.

Answered phone on Sunday night and scheduled call for 9:00 am Monday. Arrived at designated time. Took 30 minutes to complete work. Nice guy. Courteous. Careful and thorough.

Main spring broke about 4pm making the door remain closed with two cars inside. Called Fred and he was booked up, but said he would call back. Called back right away and said he would send a man by about 630 Man showed up on time and replaced both springs and lubricated door. Cost was 220.00 but recieved a discount of 10.00 because was referred by Angies List.

They were professional, responsive and punctual. Their pricing was reasonable as well. The quality of their work was good and I was satisfied with their service.

Good Professional Service. I will recommend them. My garage door wouldn't open on Wednesday night. It would go up a couple of inches and then back down again. I looked up Angies List and called Fred on Thursday noon and got an appointment for the next morning between 8:30 and 9:30. Roberto showed up at 8:45AM, gave me a qoute of $180 for a single spring and $220 for a double spring. I opted for the double springs and Roberto did an excellent job and was done by about 9:30AM. I used a $10 coupon printed from Angies List and paid the $210 using a mastercard.

Called after noon on the 22nd to report a malfunction in the door opener. Was given an appointment for 8:30 to 9:30 arrival on 23rd. Technician arrived promptly, listened as I explained the problem, checked out the operation of the door, & then removed & replaced the sensor. After aligning the sending & receiving sensors, he checked to be sure the door operated properly, & noticed that the door was scraping the door frame on one side. He re-set the track to correct that problem, lubricated the drive mechanism, & then re-checked the door's operation. The whole process took less than 30 minutes.
