Fred's Garage Doors

Fred came out and fixed it when he said he would and for the price he quoted. Excellent service, would definitely call again if something else goes wrong with the garage door.

I have been having numerous problems with my 18 year old garage door opener. Sometimes it will work but most of the time it will not. I called Fred this morning and told him the problem I was having and Nathan was at my house within a couple of hours. He checked out my opener and said that it could be that the circuit boards were going bad. This seemed to be a reasonable explanation considering the age of the opener. I asked Nathan to install a new opener and he had it installed in less than 2 hours and it looks great! He explained the new opener in detail. He was very professional and personable. I couldn't be happier and would recommend Fred's Garage Doors to anyone.

I plan on getting a new opener at a later date, Fred will be the one I call to buy it from and install it.

They arrived late due to family issues. My husband call them to find out whats the problem. I thought maybe they would call to tell us they were going to be late. But they sent someone out thirty minutes later to repair the railing to the garage door. I think they sent someone out when my husband told them we used the angies list for reference.

He informed me if I should have any future problems to call and he would fix it for only price of parts with no service charge.

They were done with the work quickly, and the door works flawlessly now. I would definitely recommend Fred's to anyone needing garage door service and repair. I had called them at about 9am on a Friday, and they were onsite and working by 10am (even though they said they'd be there closer to 10:30am; they arrived early). They finished all work by noon, and the two guys working on the job were both very professional.

Called at 9:00 a.m. in response to my Angies List email and technician was onsite within 2 hours. Great job.

A tree fell over my garage door and would not open. Fred came over and gave me an estimate (this was back in March 2011). As I looked arond for another estimate, I found out that Fred's was the best one for the money. After 6 months, I clled Fred back. To my suprise, he honored the original estimate. I called them and the guy came out within two hours. It was a very minor fix and he explained some things about the garage door. He also set up my garage door opener in my car, which was wonderful. He charged me $79.56 for the last service. I liked that he explained what the problem was with my garage door opener. I would definitely use his services in the future too.

Garage door was catching and making a lot of noise. They came out and maintenanced the door. They were very professional and on time. And, the pricing was good. The one-year warranty on the work was added perk and very of him.

I am very pleased with my service. He met me during my lunch hour. He was very timely, and efficient. I returned a few minutes late. He explained what was wrong. I would definitely use him again.

The team came out the same day I called to provide an estimate for a new garage door. He knew what he was talking about and the price seemed reasonable. We decided not to install a new door because it wasn't in our budget.

The company did a great job. They quickly analyzed the issue, told me options (one spring or two), answered my questions on other potential issues (i.e., the wheels on the door worked fine, as I thought they may have an issue), and replaced the parts very quickly. They were fast, courteous and professional, and came out to my house quickly.

My old garage door had a mind of it's own. It was so warped that it would not open and close properly. And when it did open it would sometimes slowly close. When it finally broke the tortion spring the "bang" was so loud you could hear it through out the house. I looked up on Angie's list to find the cloest repair service and came upon Fred. His technician was prompt and fixed the problem but said the repair would not last because of the condition of the door. I decided to replace the door but wanted one that was "alittle" out of style for my out of style ranch. Also the color would be a custom to blend with my house. Fred and I met to confirm the color and to make sure this is what I wanted and that my measurements were correct. The door was delivered in 4 weeks as promised and the repairs to my old door lasted just long enough to make it functional. Needless to say Fred is a man of his word and I like my new door.

Fred came by the afternoon of the day I called (a Friday) to give me the estimate. He could have someone here on Monday afternoon. I demurred and scheduled for Tuesday so the technicial could work in the morning before it got too hot. Fred did not give me a written estimate, which I would recommend he do in the future to avoid the misunderstanding we had. I thought his estimate was $425, but the price turned out to be $495, and he said that was what he estimated. A written estimate would have avoided this disagreement. The technician did a fine job on the installation, and I am VERY pleased with my new door. Fred came by to check on the progress as evidently he does on every job. I definitely could have no complaint with the door or the service. I believe the misunderstanding on the estimated cost was surely only that, but it left me with less than 100% satisfaction. I chose Fred's because a few years ago I had picked him from Angie's list to do some minor repairs and was very satisfied with his work. As to the materials and service, he deserves an A+. I would still choose his company again, but I believe I would ask for a written estimate.

Fred's Garage Door & Opener, Inc are AMAZING! I called them about 10:30 a.m. on 8/4, they sent a young gentleman, Nate, at 12:30 p.m. the same day. Nate quickly recognized that another vendor had knocked our garage door off the track. He spent less than a minute to fix it and refused to charge me for the repair! Needless to say, Fred's Garage Door has a customer for life!

Utilzed existing garage door equipment when possible but replaced rail, springs, door etc. Removed some electrical conduit in way at no extra charge. Price was fair and work was done in reasonable amount of time, showed up when said was going to show up; owner and assistant were courteous, pleasant, and up-front. Everything has worked with no problems since replacement. They hauled away the old door.

Last evening the garage torsion spring broke. This was the original spring from when the house was built in 1999. I called at 9AM and one hour later the technician was on site replacing the broken spring and adding a second one. This was a builder's door with only one spring to one side and I opted to add a second spring. Overall I was very satisfied with the response time, price, and quality of the work performed. The technician also installed a missing bolt on the garage door opener.

I called Fred and he scheduled an appointment the next day. The repairman arrived in the morning 30 minutes early. He quickly diagnosed the problem. He gave me the quote. Then he left to get the supplies from the store. My garage door was repaired by noon. It was a good experience. The garage door opens and it is quiet. Thank you.

I am a real estate investor and I work with several contractors and service providers. I am always looking for good contractors and when I find one I like to keep them long term. Fred is one to keep. He called back, scheduled an appointment, arrived on time, checked everything out, fixed just what needed to be fixed and left the job site secured. What a wonderful experience! He also shared with me info about his credit card merchant account app and how it works which I might end up using. Thanks Fred. I will definitely give him a call for the next job. I made the appointment through their website as Fred didn't answer when I called the first time and I prefer to leave my contact information in a text format instead of on a voicemail. He responded within an hour to my request and we set up the appointment for the following morning. The service call was mostly to just replace one of the cables but I was also interested in seeing if they could quiet the system in general. First of all, I would probably rate their punctuality as an A-. They were about 30 minutes later than they expected but they did call to warn me that they were running a about 30-45 minutes late. The technician was well dressed and spoke perfect english. I showed him the cable in question and expressed my concern about the amount of noise that the system has made since we got the house 2 years ago. I told him that a previous company about a year ago (that replaced the springs) stated that the door was just a "loud door" and that nothing could be done about the noise. He said he would lubricate the system and see what he could do. I had previously purchased rollers at the hardware store and told him that I was going to install those myself, however I picked up the wrong ones and so I would do those later (I was trying to save him from having to do those). After speaking to him about the rollers, he offered to replace all of the rollers for $30 including the parts. Given that 1 set of rollers at the hardware store is nearly $10, I thought this was a huge bargain and accepted. I later returned the 2 sets of rollers to the hardware store. After playing with the system, adjusting the tracks, and lubricating components, he found the main source of the noise and tightened a few bolts. Now the system runs with 40% of the noise it used to make. Please note that a previous garage door company had researched it before and said that the noise couldn't be reduced. Towards the end of the service, Fred showed up and evaluated the system himself. He showed me some unique situations with my door and gave me some maintenance tips. I told him that I purchased some greese from the hardware store to apply to the opener screw and he agreed that it was a good idea to have some greese on hand. After telling him about the size of the tubes that I purchased at the hardware store and how much they were, he offered to sell me a larger tube (maybe 5x as much) for nearly the same price. I accepted since I was going to be returning the rollers anyways and I like that the larger tube would be harder to lose in my utility room. Overall, the wait was well worth the service. I got the impression from my research online that the same amount of work by any other company would have been at least twice as much. I will deffinately be phoning them next time I'm in need of garage work or repair.

He arrived early and inspected our door. I was told that the cables keep breaking because the spring is the wrong size for our door! I was quoted a price of 240 and I agreed immediately! 20 mins later the tech called me out and told that he adjusted the tension in the spring and it should be fine! He offered to charge me 100 less! I don't know of many companies that are so honest and not just out to make a buck! I had him replace the spring anyway; the cheapest price quoted to me from other companies on Angies List was 375! He did an awesome job, and was done within 45 minutes! I recommend 100% and I will never use another company!

Do not hesitate to use Fred's Garage Door service! I had a garage door issue that developed on Friday night. Found Fred's Garage Door on Saturday morning. Called and spoke with Fred at 9a. He said someone would be out between 12p-2p. Received a call at 12:30p saying tech would be there within 30minutes. 1p had a knock on the door. The tech, Roberto, instroduced himself, diagnosed the problem, and had the door repaired and serviced quickly. This is a well run and responsive company. I will definately use them again and recommend them without hesitation. Well done!

A few weeks after moving into our house, the garage door stopped working one day. The light on the wall button was out, so we were not sure if it was electrical or some other issue. We called Fred's Garage Doors and the person on the phone was friendly and responsive. He was going to send someone over immediately! I was at work and couldn't quite leave yet, so he set a time for later in the afternoon between 3:30 and 4. Roberto showed up promptly and was very respectful and professional. He drive around the back and got to work. I honestly am not sure what he did, but he had the door working again in about 10 minutes! While he was there, he mentioned to me that the spring in the door was the wrong kind and it made the door very hard to open. I had already noticed this, so after asking about the price, I told him to go ahead and change it. He had said that if it wasn't changed, it might cause problems later, but he also did not pressure me on the decision. Once he got started, the spring was quickly changed, and he had me come out to show the difference in the ease of the door opening. He could do it with one finger! Payment was made. He didn't even charge me for the issue I had called about! He only charged for the new spring. If I have garage door needs again, I would definitely call them again!
