Fred's Garage Doors

I called Fred's, he came over the same day. Put on new rollers, lubricated the door and I am not sure what else the receipt only states Tune-up.

My garage door opener stopped working on Saturday. I went to Angie's List, found Fred's Garage Doors, and gave them a call. They said they could be there in an hour - on Saturday. Turns out the technician arrived in just 30 minutes! He immediately identified the problem and said he might even have the needed part on his truck. Sure enough he did. It took him about thirty minutes to replace the broken part, lubricate the drive bar, hinges and rollers, and I was back in business. These guys are great!

I called Fred's Garage Door on 4/12/12. My garage had come off track and bent itself. He was able to come by and look at the damage that afternoon around 5pm. He explained everything to me about what was damaged. He then gave me several options to consider. I was able to make the decision on the spot. I arranged for him to install a new door on 4/23/12. His technician arrived on time and quickly removed the old door and installed the new door. I felt all was done very professionally and I felt I got my money's worth. I would definitely call on him again.

I've had my new opener for about a month now and just love how quiet it operates, but the best feature is that it will close automactically after 5 minutes if I forget. How many times when going to work I have questioned myself if I closed the garage door or not. Now I have a backup. Nathan installed the new opener quickly and was prompt, so I ddn't have to wait around for him to show up.

Nate was fantastic! He was very knowledgeable and honest. Didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. Was Straight forward with me. He reninforced the top section, was able to repair the opener, ajdusted the opener and door, and even told me what lubricant I should get for maintaining rollers and hinges.. He checked my springs and informed me I had security cables on them and that was good. No need to install anything new at this time as eveything is working and looks ok. Even though I know it has quite a few yrs on it. I hope I can get many more years. Over the years I have had several different garage door repairmen do routine maintenance and I have never been more impressed than I was with Nate. The fee for the service was very reasonable. I had read the reviews before I decided to call Fred's. One of the reviews said " Don't call anyone else" I agree. I think these people know what they are doing and they have great customer service.

Fred's replaced both springs and reattached the arm portion of the garage door motor back onto the door. Nine months later, the arm is starting to pull away from the garage door again. I called Fred's to come out to fix the work they had done and the response I got is that they only warranty the springs for one year bit they only warranty their work for 90 days. I just want to warn others to stay away from these people. The obviously do shoddy work and then refuse to stand behind it. I will never use them again and will make sure anyone who asks is aware of this.

AWESOME! The tech came out about an hour after I called. I had a job that was more involved than he originally thought, but he fixed my garage door and did not charge more than his original estimate. I thought this was a great price and am very happy with the result.

His worker was great and pleasant but Fred was extremely rude ! You lost my business Fred !

Called Fred's this morning and there arrived by 1:30pm same day. The repairmen was very professional. He inspected teh door and adjusted it back into working condition.

Fred answered the phone the first time I called, was very helpful and frank on the phone. Scheduled the appointment for the very next day. The technician showed up on time and performed the job quickly and efficiently. He was very courteous and knowledgable. I also had him check a door that my wife had damaged and he indicated it didn't need repair at this time. He could have attempted to sell me a whole new door, but he didn't. So, when that door does need repair/replacement, I will definitely call Fred. I would recommend Fred's Garage Door to anyone. I had a great experience.

I contacted Fred's on March 9, 2012, and immediately arranged for the work to be done on March 13, 2012, between 8:30 and 9:30 AM. Nate arrived shortly before 8:30 and completed the installation in about 1 hour. He thoroughly explained how the new opener, remotes, and keypad worked. He showed me how to use the free remote monitor that will show if the door is open or closed from within the house. He attempted to sync my car with the new remote, but it wasn't compatible with my 2010 car. Nate gave me the contact information for HomeLink so that I could get a free adapter that would enable me to sync my car to the opener. Nate was very pleasant, professional, and courteous. He took the time to explain everything to me. I was very pleased with the service and my new, very quiet garage door opener. I would definitely use Fred's Garage Door & Opener, Inc. for all my future needs.

Was a great experience overall. A few months after installation we called them back out as the door was making a strange noise when opened. Fred checked everything out, determined there wasn't anything "broken". He oiled all the joints and the spring and it stopped making noises.

It was 6AM. I was leaving to get to work early, and my garage door broke. I called their office, and left me a message. Fred called me back in less than a half hour, and came to my place before 8:30. He took some measurements and did a quote. I wrote a check and was on the way to work by 8:45. It was a long day, but when I got home, the new garage door was installed. And best of all, my garage was clean. (I don't know why, but I expected it would be a wreck!)

He was great. He was prompt and on time. His prices were very reasonable. He was cheap compared to the other garage door businesses. He was down to earth. He would tell you that you don't need all of this fancy stuff.

While closing, the top panel of my second garage door folded in half late Friday night. The first garage door has had a broken spring for some time. So now, I have one garage door that can only be opened manually, and one that I'm afraid to touch. I called Fred's (214-460-5744) around 11:45 am on Saturday. Within an hour, Roberto (one of their technicians) came by to give me an estimate. The price semed fair, so we went with Fred's. At 9:00 am Monday, as promised, Roberto stopped by. Within a couple of hours, both garage doors were working great. All four springs were replaced, both doors were reinforced with a stronger metal beam across the top panel, the doors were aligned, and everything was lubed and ready to go. Because the price was lower than expected, I also purchased two new garage door openers. With the added expense of the garage door openers, the total was still a very reasonable $390. I was extremely pleased with the service, and if needed, will definitely use Fred's again.

I called around 8:30 AM, and was told someone would be out by 10:00. I had to be at work and we arranged for 2:00 PM. Fred's son came to do the work. It took about 45 minutes. I was concerned because there was a lot of stuff up against the door. He just lifted the door and we got everything out of the way into the driveway. He was done in another 30 minutes. I mentioned I had found them through Angie's List and received a discount without asking for it. The door works better now than it ever has in the past 11 years we have lived in the house. I asked about replacing the door. His price was the cheapest I have ever been quoted. When we do decide to replace the door, I will be calling Freds.

Family member backed into door rendering it unable to operate. Door was 21 years old and wasn't lowering properly after repeated adjustments so I just had Fred replace everything. I had another bid a few months earlier, but they didn't return my call until the following weekend. Fred returned my call same day and replace the door the next day.

Mr. Fred was here within an hour and a half and it took him about 20 minutes to repair my door. Would certainly recommend and use again.

Responded within 15min of calling, and showed up at the house 15min later. Prompt, organized, well informed, had all the tools and material he needed with him in his truck. Was finished and problem fixed within 30min. This gentleman was polite and conscientious and we will definitely call on him again if we run into similar problems in the future. Highly recommended!

Fred's is one of the best service providers I have ever used. Very prompt service and very reasonable price. Their communication was great and they did exactly what they said they would do. Awesome experience.

The speediness of getting the repair was great. My husband was shocked it happened so fast.

Fred said he'd be there between 10-12 that day and someone was knocking on my door by 10:30. He suggested buying 2 coils. Coils last 10 years and it had been 10 years. He didn't try to sell me additional services I didn't need. He honored my Angie's coupon. I had my car back in the garage by noon. I would definitely recommend Fred's to my friends.

I feared that I would have to buy two new garage doors, the damaged one and it's twin (undamaged) one. This was because the doors were no longer made and I wanted them to match, so replacing one meant replacing the other. The repairman arrived about 2 hours EARLY. In this case, it worked out great. But, I hadn't been called and was planning to be out walking the dog at the time the repairman arrived. So, the circumstances could have been bad for all concerned. The repairman was very courteous. He explained what he thought would work, and quoted me a price of $130. He did his best to straignten out the lower panel (and really did quite well). He put a brace across the entire lower panel. He fixed the flashing on the bottom of the door. He was very professional and the door looks virtually as good as it did prior to the accident. All was done for the quoted price. The door works great. Overall, I'm extremely happy with his work.
