Fred's Garage Doors

I called on a Saturday and within an hour Fred called back. I asked that someone come after work at around 4:30 on Monday and when I pulled in at 4:30 Manuel was already working on it and had found the problem. The estimate was $110 which is what the final cost was and the work was done within the hour. Great job.

Fred was selected by a friend who found his listing on Angie's list. Since Fred did a great job at my friends house I asked Fred to stop by to assist with a sticky door. Fred stopped by, tried his best, but couldn't do much. He didn't charge me a dime.

It went very well. The garage was a lot less noisy after the service. They also did not try to sell anything.

I've used them a couple of times both time Fred's son (I think) Nathan came out and did a great job. Helping me solve other issues and even jumpstarting my car for me. Super helpful and easy going. The best of what a service firm should be!!!

They showed up the next morning on time and were very pleasant. The work was completed in no time and my garage door is definitely quieter and running better. I would use them again for any future garage door needs.

I called Fred's Garage Door late Sunday evening because the spring on my garage door had broken. The owner was very professional and responded quickly to my emergency. Although it was well past business hours on a Sunday night- Fred had my door up and running within a few hours! I will definitely use (and recommend) this company again in the future!

Signed up using e-mail link on Angie's List website and I got an e-mail and phone call from Fred early next morning. We agreed to 12:30PM following day. Nate, the technician, was on time and got right to work. After putting on the springs and checking the rest of the garage door apparatus, he noticed sprocket worn on electric garage door opener. No hard sell, but wanted to make me aware of the situation. The garage door opener is 17 years old and the part he mentioned has only been replaced once. The garage door is working well and is much quieter than it was before the spring broke. Nate was extremely courteous and cleaned up well leaving no old parts laying around. I would recommend to anyone in the area.

Excellent service. I called them and they were able to come out same day. I may have the date of service wrong but it was definitely sometime during that week. I gave them a "B" on price but honestly that's only because I really have nothing to compare it to. This is my first house and I've never had a garage door repair before so for all I know it was a very good price. I had a broken spring and the tension cable had come loose. The repair tech (Nick or Nate - he was Fred's son) came out right away fixed the issue with no problem and very quickly. Even though I only had one broken spring he recommended installing two which of course made the price a bit higher but it made sense to me to have springs that have the same wear and tear on them. I was very happy that they didn't come out and try to talk me into installing a whole new door or garage door opener system. They simply diagnosed the problem and fixed it on the spot. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

The work was completed in about 30 minutes. The technician also conducted a full review and maintenance on the entire garage door system

We found them on Angie's List. The job went very well. We were extremely happy with the entire experience. We thought we had to probably replace the garage door but they were able to fix it. They were here probably within an hour from the time I called them. They did an excellent job. They were an excellent company to deal with from the time they answered the phone and until their technician arrived and he left. It was just very professional. I think the cost was very good. We were just very pleased that we found them on Angie's List. They lived up to our expectations very much. We had a $10 Angie's List coupon. One of the panels of the garage door was broken so they were able to repair that and while they were here they also found that another hinge was getting ready to break. They were able to replace that hinge and fix it. The garage door opener wasn't functioning the way it really should and so while they were here I asked them to take a look at that. They did take a look, found a broken part and they were able to repair that for us. We were very happy with the entire experience.

Their advice was excellent. The door is so quiet now and we feel safer.

This was my first time to use Angie's List, and I am very pleased. My husband informed me that the garage door was broken at 7am this morning. I figured I was stuck home all day, because it was impossible to get the door to budge. I called Fred about 9am and he was out to my home within the hour and the garage door was good as new in 30 minutes. Turns out the spring snapped in two and one of the tension cables came off. (or something like that.) Fred was very nice, professional and did a great job. I would definitely use him again!

I saw Fred's Garage Door & Opener high rating on Angie's List so called them up. Scheduling appointment time was easy. Description of problem and solution over the phone was very simple and clear. Price quoted matched price of service (was actually $10 cheaper than quote due to handy dandy Angie's List coupon). Roberto was on-time for appointment, was very professional and got right to work and was done within 1 hr (replaced 1 spring with 2). Highly recommended for garage door spring replacement!

The technician showed up on time and had the new springs on and performed a basic tune-up all in about 30 minutes. I was very impressed and will use them again in the future.

Nathan arrived on time and was very professional. One of the garage doors stuck halfway when it was opening and he diagnosed the problem immediately. That garage door works great now and is much quieter. We would highly recommend them.

I called Fred's on Thursday afternoon, and the man that answered said they could be out between 8:30 and 9:30 Friday morning. Roberto arrived promptly at 8:30 am Friday morning. I explained the problem, and he said it would be no trouble to fix, and that the charge would be $120.00. He looked at the mechanism and showed me where a bracket had pulled loose from the wall, which had caused the problem in the first place. He spent about an hour working on the door: straightened the track, reattached the bracket, and replaced the cables. The door works perfectly now; in fact, I think it works better than it did when I bought the house 15 years ago. I am extremely happy with the job, and also relieved that no one tried to sell me a new door or anything else. I will definitely use Fred's again.

Double door had been sticking on the way down, but suddenly got worse and was causing the opener to reverse direction. Clearance to trim was part of the reason, sanding helped a bit, but didn’t fully correct the problem. Based on the reviews, I called Fred’s Garage Doors to make an appointment to have the door aligned. They were able to schedule the appointment very quickly, came out when scheduled, and quickly took care of the alignment (and a couple bent hinges). There was no attempt to perform any unneeded service (most of the components on this door, were previously replaced, but the door itself is about 15 years old). Operation of the door has been trouble free since this visit.

Arrived on time. Had parts with him. Friendly, courteous and professional. Knew what he was doing. Worked on it like it was his own. Gave discount for Angies List member. Lubricated all moving surfaces. Answered all my questions.

Called Fred's The next morning and he sent someone out that afternoon. Service man was able to give a quick estimate and initiate repairs immediately. Door was straightened, new braces installed, and springs adjusted within one hour. Has worked just fine since. Would definitely use them again.

The garage door only had two springs on it and I could not get the door open.One of the two springs on my garage door broke late Saturday night and answered the phone and said he would come out the next morning. I was expecting to leave a message because this was after they closed. He came out Sunday morning and was telling about what he was going to do and how much he was going to charge.He fixed it Sunday so I could get the cars out of the garage. I thought they were reasonable. We also backed into the garage so some of the door panels needed to be replaced. He recommended that he replace the door for about the same price as replacing the panels. I have a two car garage with wide doors. He was very nice and can not say enough good things about him.

The garage door was getting sluggish in closing and would sometimes take several tries before fully closing. I called Fred's and was told someone could be out within the hour. Frankly I doubted it but indeed Roberto the technician arrived within the hour. After much manual testing of the door, he quoted a price of $120 to adjust the balance. He spend over an hour making the adjustment until he was satisfied. In fact, I was happy that the door was closing on the first try but he was not happy with the noise it made so he kept working on it until he was pleased.

Out of frustration with the garage door company I had used for 20 years, I went to Angie's list and picked Fred because of the great reviews and number of reviews. I had my usual company come out and inspect the door which they installed a year and half ago, because it wasn't meeting the floor on one side when down. They tried to tell me my house was settling and I had a foundation problem. I smelled BS and after waiting a few weeks until the door got worse, I came home last night to more noise and noticed the cable fraying. I went to the List and called Fred and left a message at around 7PM. He called about 15 minutes later and we agreed on a time the next morning. Fred and his assistant were prompt and quickly determined it was an alignment problem, not my foundation. He made the repairs and I was happy to find a quiet door again when I arrived home. Thanks Fred for a great job!
