Dryer Venting Services

Overall, this was a very good experience. A decent sized load of clothes would take a couple of hours to dry, and a large load of towels could take up to 3 hours - and when it was all done, everything was still slightly damp. I knew that my vents needed cleaning but, being the big old chicken that I am when it comes to heights, I could not bring myself to climb up onto the roof. Robert came out and got right to work. All I had to do was stay out of his way. One of the things that he found is that the vent on the roof had a screen across the opening that the builder should have removed when the house was built 8 years ago. No wonder we had issues! He removed the screen and cleaned everything out. A large load of towels will now complete in approximately 40 minutes. The amount of $$ that I save in electricity will pay for this service call within a year! Very happy with Robert and his expertise. My only gripe is this..... I'm VERY anal when it comes to punctuality. Our appointment was for 4:00pm. At 4:10pm I called to see where Robert was. He said he was running late due to traffic (a valid reason) and he arrived about 15 minutes later. Even though he had a good reason for being late, a phone call should have been in order to let me know. In no way will this keep me from using him again, but I just wanted to be as honest as possible about the overall experience.

Andrew arrived promptly at the appointment time and was very professional and efficient. When he was finished, he explained to me everything that he'd done. He was very neat and cleaned up the areas in which he worked.

Excellent service. Quoted a price; showed up on time; professiona. The job was a lot more detailed than normal. Our vents were a lot dirtier than normal. Robert went under the house into the crawl space and inspected the dryer vent. I knew it was broken before I called him and he confirmed it. He took out the old (plastic flex) line and replaced it with sheet metal vent as it should have been done in the first place. He replaced the inside fitting and the outside one. He did a very neat and professional job in a timely manner. He cleaned up after the work was done. I would recommend him to anyone.

I recently replaced my downdraft cooktop and the exhaust outlet on the new unit did come even close to aligning with the existing through the floor exhaust vent (cooktop is located in an island counter). I found D.V.S. on Angie's List and gave him a call. Robert gave me a fixed price quote over the phone and we setup the appointment. He arrived on time and very quickly had the downdraft exhaust connected to the existing floor vent. He could not use and quot;stockand quot; parts to make the connections, but he had the tools and knowledge to craft what was needed. I was very impressed with his knowledge and skill level. After everything was hooked up, he tested all the connections for air leaks. Everything was left clean and tidy and the final bill was exactly what was quoted over the phone. I am 100% satisfied and highly recommend D.V.S. for mechanical duct work like kitchen vents, dryer vents, etc. If I am ever in the need of additional services, I will definitely call D.V.S.

He did try to find a cheaper alternative but the alternatives were not acceptable to me. It was more that I thought I was going to have to spend but it was probably worth it since I did not have to crawl under the house and remove old dryer venting duct work and rehang new solid aluminum duct work. Did a good job and was responsive and on-time.

I had an excellent experience with Robert. After seeing his rating on Angies List, I visited his website which was very professional for a small service company. I emailed him a request for an estimate on cleaning a dryer vent duct for a 2 story home in Frisco which runs between the first and second floor before it hits the exterior (versus venting up through the attic/roof). He called me within 48 hours and set an appointment for later that same week. He arrived promptly at the 9am appointment time. We live in a 5.5year new construction home in Frisco that has the laundry room next to the kitchen. The room is only wide enough to fit the washer and dryer side by side. Because the dryer vent is actually behind the washer, I took the initiative to remove the washer from the laundry room so he could have access to the vent. (I also used it as an opportunity to do my seasonal clean out under the machines). The laundry room is too shallow to have simply pulled the machine forward. Had I not done that I'm not sure what his policy would have been on moving the washer. If you have a small laundry room like mine, you might want to ask that ahead of time. Robert left his work areas as clean as he found them. In fact I think he actually took the extracted lint with him. When I asked for an evaluation of the duct at the end of my appointment (approx 45 min) he was able to tell me that there was one area that might cause build up and went to explain in detail how the situation was created during the construction process. He made sure to note that it was not an error on the builders part, just a method that venting guys would prefer not be used on dryer venting ducts. My impression of Robert is that he is a very courteous and quiet man who knows his profession well. I will be using him again and referring all my friends and family to him.

I can't recall exactly how much I spent, but it was the standard fee he charges. Everything was great. Arrived on time. No hidden fees. Very happy.

Our dryer had a problem that was covered under warrenty. When the technician fixed it, he said the dryer vent MUST be cleaned out before we could use it again. There was a high danger of fire if not done. Having never done this before and not knowing who to call, we used Angie's List to find a reputable service company. Climate Doctor had an excellent online rating and a coupon for the service for $69. I was extremely pleased with the work they did. More importantly, it was very quickly clear to them that we didn't know anything about this! I appreciated that they did not try to upsell me from the coupon but performed exactly what I'd called them about. The technicians were prompt, courteous, and informative. I would definitely recommend them and use their services again.

Couldn't have been smoother. Came out the same day, finished in an hour or so.

When nobody else could fix it, they did. We had our dryer vent unclogged and the company completely knocked it off the spot where it was supposed be. DVS did an excellent job getting it back into place.

One gentleman came out and he was excellent. The price was reasonable and it was what I was expecting. I didn’t have any problems with them. He was a fine gentleman and the kind of person you would let in your house. He lived up to his rating and I even recommended him to my daughter.

Went very well overall, we have an unobstructed vent and Robert installed a mesh behind the outside vent to prevent any critters from entering.

Dryer Venting Services is the best. They were very professional and friendly. I have an annual contract with them that takes care of 2 maintenance visits per year.

Before calling Robert I had called a local service I had used at another house. The man came out and check the vent run and said that we really needed to get a new cap on the roof because the one we had was blocking any lint from leaving the stack--that cleaning out what was there was not the answer to the problem. He spent time and effort to come to that conclusion--although he cleaned none of the dryer vent line while he was doing it--but he did not charge me for his time--which was nice. We really did not want to have roofer come out to install a new roof cap if there was another option--so I checked Angie's List and saw the positive reports for Robert's work. I first sent email and followed up with phone call the next day. I explaned what had happened with the first service guy (so he would know it was not an easy job) and said that I wanted another inspection to see if a new roof cap was really needed. He scheduled for the next Monday--about a 5 day wait--but that was also during the 2nd snow spell--so the roof had snow on it and I would have had to wait anyway. He was even a little early for his appt. Showed him the dryer/utility room and then the attic access (which is not that convenient) then he checked the roof. We discussed how house design did not always take into account factors like venting the dryer as a priority. My utility room is on an outside wall--there was a way to vent the dryer directly to the outside if the designer had wanted to take advantage of that fact. After seeing the vent on the roof, Robert said that he could just cut the metal louvers on sides of the vent cap and make it much easier for the lint to escape the vent stack--vs replacing with a new cap. When I asked how effective doing that would be (because we do have a low roof cap) he said that if it were on his house, he would leave it like that vs replacing it--replace with better one if/when the roof needed replacing. But he also said that the vent probably needed to be cleaned once a year anyway --no matter what cap was in place-- as fire precaution... He started cleaing the vent stack--(took about 1.5-2 hrs total)--then went on roof to cut louvers and empty the lint stuck there. He had some difficulty because there was still some snow in that area--two sections of roof meet close to the vent cap and the area is not that large or flat to stand on...but he did not really complain--just went about doing his job. After he came back down and we were doing the payment--he just reminded me of the fact that because our dryer (and washer) and set on lifters that there is not a straight line from the dryer back to the wall vent hole--which also restricts the free flow of the vent process...and to not push the dryer back too close to the wall and block the vent. I was very pleased with the work he did. My dryer is drying much quicker than before--even loads of towels don't have a problem--which will hopefully mean saving some electricity/money as well. I will certainly use/recommend Robert's service in the future. I think most people don't consider having this done until their stack is so blocked that the dryer is basically not working. It is really much better to have it cleaned before there is such a blockage--easier/quicker process and certainly less likely to cause a vent fire (which can happen).

Arrived on time, very professional. Offered suggestions of ways to repair and which would be best. Roberts takes his time with his work, no rushing and wants to make sure it is done right. Work is done neatly and he cleans up mess prior to leaving. Covers all items repair prior to leaving to see if any questions. Price is reasonable for amount of time and skills involved. Would definitely use again if need and recommend to anyone what has dryer vent problems.

We moved into our 1970's-era house in 1992, and the dryer vent has not been cleaned out since that time. In the past several months the dryer has barely functioned, so we first tried to clean out what we could ourselves, but realized that this job was beyond our scope. I called Robert on Sunday and he came out on Monday. The job probably turned out to be more than he expected, between a too-small vent diameter and an enormous amount of sopping wet lint, but Robert spent about twice as long as he would on a typical cleanout job and still honored his original price quote. He did a fantastic job, and our dryer is working perfectly!
