I asked for a quote on 8 solar screens and was given a ballpark estimate. After sending measurements and photos of the final 4 windows I ended up deciding upon, I asked for a re-quote in writing which their rep 'Seasons' said she would send but never did. Four days later (the day before they were scheduled to come out) I asked if I was going to get a quote or if my job was too small and I should move along. She replied with the most unprofessional and non-customer service response I have ever received. All I wanted was for her to do her basic job, it didn't seem too much to ask? In her reply, she wrote "I have too many clients to do the back and forth for weeks at a time. I actually think that you should probably use another screen company, as we can't seem to meet your needs." All I did was ask her to send the final quote she said she was going to do. If these people can't be trusted to do the smallest, simplest, most basic things, how can they be trusted to do the big things? The owner's name appears to be Blake but trying to find his contact information proved to be mission impossible. Their website looks to be created in the early 2000's and it has no examples of any work they've done nor any samples of the screens they offer. Asking for samples seemed to be very challenging to Seasons, as she claimed putting some samples in the mail was going 'above and beyond' service. What a joke!! Save yourself the time and hassle, AVOID them at all costs.

You requested a quote for 8 screens July 13 (then 5, then 4), which I provided as an estimate because actual quotes cannot be figured until Blake takes the measurements himself on-site. We exchanged emails, phone calls, and text messages for 3 weeks, where we tried to meet your needs satisfactorily. I booked you for an appointment for July 23 that was canceled less than 24 hours before your appointment and I did not charge you a cancellation fee. I mailed you fabric samples on July 24 (and offered to drive them to you) for you to get the actual look and feel in your own hands versus going by images. July 28 I reached out to you, as we had not heard back. Thursday, July 30, I emailed you this: "Are you wanting extreme visibility in and out, or are you wanting protection due to the golf course? When the screen is on the house you can still see out clearly, nobody can see in. Yet at night, with your inside lights on, it's reversed. Have I missed the mark of your needs? Should we make any changes? I will redo the quote with only those windows requested and send it to you this afternoon. Thanks so much for getting back to me." I had several meetings with contractors that day and then on Friday, I had to make a delivery to Lipan, Texas (not to mention the end of month books). We are closed on Saturday and Sunday. At 7:33 am Monday, an hour and a half before we open, you emailed me this: "Good morning, It's now four days later and I still don't have your quote. If our job is too small or not important enough, I'm happy to give my business to someone else, just let me know. [Member Name Removed]" Until that moment, you had been perfectly happy with the customer service we had provided to you. We are sorry that we could not meet your needs and hope that you have found the right fit. We also are apologetic with your displeasure of the website, as we did not create it, Home Advisor did.

I contacted DFW Screens on three separate occasions trying to get a quote. It is clearly a working number because it rang and rang before going to voicemail each time. Why the line could not be answered during business hours is beyond me. The first two times I called (7/1 and 7/5) I left a voicemail explaining the services I needed, provided my information and requested a callback with a quote. The third call (7/12) also went unanswered but I finally gave up. What is the point of running a business if you can't bother to respond to your potential customers?

[Member Name Removed], My sincerest apologies for this missed opportunity between us. I believe 100% you have reached out to my company and did not get a response. I have over 30 voicemails I have not had the time to listen to yet. I am completely overbooked and undermanned at the moment, and have been for a couple months now. I have hired multiple helpers who have not worked out, putting me even further behind. I have all advertising turned off at the moment and have for some time now. I am not sure how to be unavailable on Angie's List, but will look into trying to do that as well. Emails and texts have been the main source of communication right now. The reason I am unable to answer the phones is because I work in the field, building window screens on site at people's homes. Being without quality help makes this process take much longer, cutting into the time I am able to have in the office listening to voicemails and returning calls. I leave for work before an acceptable time to call and get back after acceptable times. Again, my sincerest apologies for not being able to help you with your project. If you are still in need, I would be happy to prioritize your project as well as give you more than normal discounts for my mishap in communication. Being as we build the screens ourselves, you will receive the highest quality product available on the market. Every component of the screens that we build are the highest quality we are aware of on the market. If you are at all interested please text the same number you called and I will do my best to get you taken care of asap. After my negative review, DFW Screens contacted us to explain they had been experiencing issues with voicemail. They came to our home a within few days later and repaired our screen. This was done at no charge. In the end, they made it right.
Description of Work: Was slow in returning my initial message. He called and apologized. Told me he would call back in a few days after looking at his schedule to see when other service calls would put him in the area. After 10 days of waiting I left a message on his voicemail. He did not return this call.

I would do business with Blake again. He was professional and provided a quality product. He cares about doing a good job and about customer service in general. I think his price was reasonable too. The process: I spoke with Blake about an estimate to replace some screens. We agreed on a time to meet a few days later. When he came out to the house, he explained how he works and showed me the higher-quality materials he uses. We also discussed price. I decided to have him replace all of our screens, including the frames. We agreed on an installation date (about a week after). However, he ended up having time to install the screens just two workdays after I agreed to the work, so that was nice. On install day, Blake showed up when promised and did an excellent job on the screens (in blistering heat). The screens look great and seem like they'll last a long time.
Description of Work: Replaced the screens, including frames, for all of our 18 windows.

Our parents had another company attempt to replace the screening material on these (6) screens twice before contacting DFW screens and the screening material was not tight or even on either attempt. They subsequently contacted DFW Screens and Blake came out promptly, picked up the (6) screens, rescreened all frames, and delivered them back in a timely manner with all (6) finished screens looking as good or better than when they were new! Based on this experience, our parents were completely satisfied with Blake's work and would highly recommend him especially if you have a screening job that requires a very skilled person doing the work to obtain a superb and quality rescreening product!
Description of Work: Rescreened (6) Aluminum frame storm window screens that had experienced hail damage. A previous supplier had made two prior attempts at rescreening these frames and the resulting screening material was not tight or even on either attempt. DFW Screens picked up and rescreened the same frames & when delivered all (6) finished screens looked as good or better than when they were new.

I had other companies come out prior to hiring Blake and neither of them could figure out how to install screens on my older home's windows, which was built in the 1950s. He immediately knew what was needed to accomplish this task. My experience with Blake of D/FW Screens completely exceeded my expectations. Not only was he was highly responsive, professional, and courteous but he is truly an expert in the area of screens. It was not an easy job, but he and his crew worked quickly and tirelessly to provide very high quality solutions. He had innovative and cost-effective ideas to tackle every obstacle that came up on the job, due to the age of my home. They went above and beyond to ensure that I was satisfied with their work and now I am enjoying the fresh air and breeze that the screens provide! I would highly recommend him and will definitely rehire him if other screening needs arise. You can't go wrong with him or his work.
Description of Work: Provided brand new screens for 13 windows and one retractable screen for my deck door. He came out, measured and cut the screens to exact specification for each window. He unjammed the old paint and worked within the parameters of our home, as some windows had shifted. The quality of the screens was very high and the trim matched our window framing perfectly. He even cut and made window bars with rubber stoppers to hold our oldest windows up at different levels!
