So I just realized today why Angie's List asks people to review a company even if services aren't rendered. I remembered why I didn't go with this company before and it was because of the man who showed up for my estimate, Kenny, and his (un)professionalism. First he asked for the box of flooring, which was in my garage behind some boxes, even though I had the complete information to order it. This was more just a pain since the box had nothing pertinent written on it and it's not a box of feathers. Fine, whatever, I got the box per his instructions. Then he proceeded to say, "I bidded this before." I explained this was not the same job that he bidded before. After that, he asked very confrontationally, "Why didn't you just call the company that installed it last time?" I told him that I am getting bids for insurance and for the company who was responsible for the flooding in my house. Lastly, he added "I wish you would have told me that when I called, this is a long way to drive just to give an estimate." I let him know that I did state that when I originally called the office. I work in customer service and if I ever treated anyone like that, there would be serious repercussions. I'm dealing with enough as it is due to this flooding incident and to be treated like a pain rather than a potential customer, is unacceptable in my book. I'm sorry that one man's attitude was enough to deter me from your company......twice. Other than Kenny, the office staff who took my original call was very kind and the company was able to send out someone for the estimates same day. The price on my last estimate was a fair price. So in summation, had I dealt with someone other than Kenny, based on what I had experienced, I would probably have recommended this company.

Handscraped Wood - 500 sq ft new insallation, refinishing about 2500 sq ft. Well, lets talk about some history. I went to this shop for our carpet. They had amazing choices, I liked some, and asked for a quote. Was told they will send it. I got the quote after their measurements were done, and they seemed a bit high, specially in our media room. Marty, who dealt with us did not want to work with us at all. Since we had taken quotes from others, we knew they are making some mistake in their calculations, but Marty just did not budge in explaining how he is estimating which is resulting in higher cost for one room, and lower cost for the other 5 areas. Anyway, I decided to go with some one else. The manager, Marty's wife called me to ask why we did not go with them, and I tild them the reason. they kept maintaning that they do not talk about breakdown, and i told if they continue that I will not do business with them. Anyway, after a 30-45 minute heated debate given the dedication and committment Tina showed, I decided to try them on this project. They had the measurements already, and they gave a good price and assured quality. The crew led by Jonathan was here on time. They brought the material, lay the wood, did that nicely. But thats when issues started. They laid all the waste right in fron of my house. Once my wife told them to take it away, they committed doing it but did not till the very end of the project. There was a large pile in front of my main door for more than a week. They had to scrape the wood, the new one and the old one. They scraped it very lightly in the beginning. My wife had to call Tina to ask them to rescrape better. Jonathan was also very unresponsive. When he was onsite, he would talk and make committments, but when he went away he did not pick up the phone. the project got delayed as well, and that resulted in us re arranging the schedule for carpet, cleaning and moving. Jonathan promised that he will come on the weekend to catch up, but never did. Nither did he pick up the phone. My wife called his father who was on and off the project, he did come by to do a bit. The polish on the wood was done okay, but it was lighter than the original. It seems to cut cost they budgeted lower number of quotes. There were stains on the walls, damaging my paint. Another haggling session was there between us and Jonathan to undo the stains on the new paint that we had done just a week ago (yes, we should have planned paint later, I know I know). The moulding done was not painted, they had to come back and redo it. The stain was done in places with unclean fllor, so trash was embedded in the paint in a few places. And the scraping is done badly in some places which Jonathan promised he will come back and fix, but never did. He is not reachable on phone ever, so no use chasing him. My wife never confronted him on his unresponsiveness, but when i did he said "I was busy". Busy when he is full time doing our job. Guys, dont get me wrong, the follr looks okay broadly speaking, we had to do a lot of "Catching issues and forcing fixes". Not something that we want to do. Tina was very responsive, but the crew she sent (Actually, it was Jonathan, not his crew) that was the issue. IF she just replaced the crew, or maybe just Jonathan, things would be different, better. His father was better, but Jonthan was driving the show. We may use them again guys, the floorig overall cam okay but like i said, the experience was a little bit sour. We will definitely not work with Jonathan again. Tina turned out to be great, she tried solving our problems, again picking up pur phone every single time. She just had a bad leader onsite. Hope this helps.

We hired their help to do our tiles. Had an awesome experience. We got a lot of time from them to choose our tiles and discuss the design. The pricing might be slightly higher a little bit. The crew they sent was the one of the best. they covered our cabinets to avoid dust on them. they broke the existing tiles nicely so there is no damage to the expensive kitchen paint. Not a nick on the paint or cabinets anywhere. Finished the job on time, people were courteous and professional. We would love to do business with them again.

Have nothing but great things to say about Carpet Outlets of Texas! Prompt and professional are the 2 words I would use to describe all of my interactions. They came quickly, bid quickly, set up install quickly, and installed quickly. Not only was it fast, but it was beautiful work as well. Efficient, prompt, professional, and competitive pricing were all in place to give me the product and service that I needed. Bruce, was an exceptional salesperson and asked me questions about my preferences that others had not. I certainly appreciated his attention to detail and his concern for my particular project.

The gentleman wanted to charge substantially more than the $1,200 I had already spent on the Big Deal. I measured the square footage of my house, and his measurements did not match my own so we did not end up working together. While frustrating, he did help facilitate the refund of my purchase with Angie's List.

Noel and his team of two showed up Monday morning and began ripping out all of the old white carpet, padding and tack strip and approximately 200 square foot of ceramic tile that was in our entry and down a hallway. This was no easy process for the tile and took quite a while. Upon completion of this, they began putting down leveling on the slab for the hardwoods and fixed it where the hardwoods would not have gaps or valleys underneath. They laid all the hardwoods, cut the baseboards, caulked and cleaned in a day and a half and made it look amazing. The upstairs master bath looked awesome as well after removing the ceramic tile and replacing it with new tile. They were professional, fast and made everything look amazing. I will use them going forward for any type of flooring needs.

This was subcontracted through them. When they were installing the carpet the first crew came out and we literally refused to let them come back the next day because they left carpet tacks, razor blades and stuff all over the floor. They destroyed our vacuum cleaner, used my husband's tools out of the garage without asking for permission and didn't ask for permission on our vacuum cleaner. It was so clogged after they used it that we had to literally disassemble it and empty all of the parts out of it before it would even run. So they sent a different crew out the next day and they did a better job but still not a particularly stellar job. The carpet edges were all left rough. We were not thrilled with it. We had a crawling infant at the time. I was not happy. When I called the company to say the first crew could not come back, instead of apologizing, they tried to give me reasons as to why they had done it. The next crew they sent out was much more courteous and polite in that regard but at the same time their skill level was not exceptionally high. They were very fast, I will give them that, so they get points for speed. Their tile was alright. The price was good; they at least were not charging us an arm and a leg for what we got. The initial setup was good, but I was not happy with their professionalism.
Description of Work: I used Carpet Outlets of Texas to put down carpet and tile.
My wife and I purchased a home that needed some upgrading, so we had Bruce from Carpet Outlets come and give us an estimate on doing tile work. The house has extensive wood floors, however, the wood on the first floor was badly worn so we decided to replace the entry, hallway, breakfast nook, and kitchen with tile. Upstairs, the bathrooms needed to be updated so we had Bruce take measurements to replace the floor tile, master shower and tub surround tile, and install granite vanity tops. After the measurements were taken, our wonderful salesperson, Brenda, recommended that we check out a few showrooms. We went to Dal-Tile, where they had a wonderful tile showroom and a granite warehouse nearby. Marazzi had nice tile as well and we eventually made our selections from both. It was a fun, but somewhat daunting process, because the selection was so large it was hard to make a decision. Carpet Outlet's tile installers were excellent, polite and professional. The quality of their work was very good and they did a great job with the decorative band we selected for the master bath. The granite contractor they use also did a great job. Everything looks so beautiful now, these areas look like a model home. The next time we need flooring work, we'll definitely call on Carpet Outlets again.

Everybody we worked with here was excellent. We spent a couple hours in the store asking lots of questions about quality, warranty, installation, etc. Marty came to the house and measured. The carpet was in the following week. The installers were professional and friendly. The installation itself looks far superior to what was in my house originally, especially on the stairs. The price was roughly the same as what we found at the big box stores, but the quality of the installation and overall service was much better. We will use them again.

Came to the home and provided an estimate for new laminate flooring for three rooms plus hallways. Once the flooring was chosen, an appointment date was set. Over four days, the old carpet was removed and the new flooring was installed. The whole process went very smoothly and the work and the workers were excellent. Highly recommended.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post your review of Carpet Outlets! Please let us know if you need anything.
They were fantastic! Bruce came out to measure and give us a quote and he was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. His quote was the lowest we received and his crew was on-time and completed the job in a timely manner. We were very pleased with the work- so much so we are using them redo the hardwood floors in a house we just purchased. We are both real estate agents and deal with a lot of flooring companies. We have recommended Carpet Outlets to our clients and feel very comfortable doing so.

We really appreciate your business! Thank you for taking time to give us a review!
They are a great value. Top of the list for carpet and tile. We went to their store in McKinney and look at their samples. They suggested we go to various stores until we found something we liked and then to ask for a price. We did find some carpet and got a quote. Their price for the carpet was competitive. Was it absolutely "the cheapest"? Almost, but not quite. They were a few dollars more. But, honestly, $50 on a $3500 for carpet installation job is barely worth mentioning. They scheduled a time for the installation. They told us clearly how to prepare the area, and what we had to do and what they had to do. We did exactly what they told us to do, and we followed their instructions. The carpet installation went smoothly. There was a problem with the nose of a step. The installer fixed it without any additional charge. The tile installation was the similar. They were slightly cheaper than other people, but, again, $50 one way or the other is irrelevant. (As an FYI, the cost of tile removal and installation is more than the tile itself.) They told us when they were going to do the installation, what to expect, how to prepare the area for installation, and how long it would take, Everything occurred exactly like they said. There was a slight problem with the tile installation that we discovered two days after installation. We called. They came out the next day and fixed it. I honestly don't know how the installation of tile and carpet could have been better.
Description of Work: Installed carpet and tiled kitchen.
Based on the reviews here we decided to give Carpet Outlets a shot. We purchased our home a month ago, and the previous owners had at least one pet. Needless to say the carpet throughout was in pretty bad shape, even on the first floor (which they had put in just last year). After visiting the store in Mesquite and looking at several samples we decided on one and scheduled an estimate. Marty drove out after ours the following week, measured our rooms, and gave us a quote in less than an hour. For 3 bedrooms, a walk-in closet, a game room, and media room we came in right at 2,000 sq. ft. We went with an ultra nice multi-tone soft yarn, and received an 8 pound pad as a free upgrade since we used Angie's List. Due to rainy weather our installation was pushed back, but they called us well ahead of time to let us know and reschedule. On the day of installation the crew arrived on time and knocked the job in about half of a day. These guys even went above and beyond and glued down a wooden stair step that had come loose two weeks ago due to me moving some furniture around. I have to say, the carpet looks great and is super soft and comfortable to walk on. We definitely made the right choice.

Thank you for your Page of Happiness nomination! We appreciate your business and thank you for taking time to review us!
The experience was outstanding. We worked with Marty and he was so helpful and responsive. He came out to our home in flower mound within 2 days of contact, to measure and with carpet samples in the color family we specified. The samples weren't exactly what we would thinking about, so we went to their store in Mesquite to view and bring home samples. The options were huge - many more brands and styles than expected. Mohawk, Karastan, etc. The next weekend, we returned to the store to order. We had sustained a lot of pet staining in the old carpeting (geriatric pet care!) and Marty had a suggestion to ensure the odor was eliminated ... it appears to have worked. One month later, after a lot of rain and humidity, we haven't noticed any odor. Yay! the installers were outstanding. they were prompt and professional - obviously knew their business. they completed the installation in one day. although we had to remove our small accessories and many of the more breakable items (china cabinet contents, for example), the installers moved the furniture and replaced it at the end of the day. I would recommend Carpet Outlets of Texas. Even though they're a bit of a drive from flower mound, the savings made it worth our while. They also handle other types of flooring - wood, tile, etc.

Thank you for the awesome review! We appreciate the opportunity to serve you!
One of the reasons I choose Carpet Outlets of Texas was the flowing reviews listed on Angie?s list. I was in the process of getting a house ready to rent and needed the wood floors refinished. The work started on Tuesday morning, I meet an employee at my house, went over the job and gave them a key. I show up at lunch Tuesday to do some work and an employee is going through my boxes and tools in the garage, I ask what is he doing and he tells me he is ?looking for something to weigh down the sander?? Wednesday afternoon I show up at my house, the leftovers from a chicken lunch are left on my back door steps. I had just purchased a new box of trash bags and I find the box open and some of their equipment is in the trash bags. Sunday I needed to apply more tile and I go to use my trowels I had left out to dry and they are covered with hardened wood filler! Their employees used my tools and because they didn?t clean them off I had to buy new ones! What gives their employees the right to go through their customer's stuff, uses the customer's tools and leave their garbage in the yard? I am so glad this was a house I was getting ready to rent and that I did not invite anyone from Carpet Outlets of Texas, Inc. into my home with all of my personal property in it. My experience with Carpet Outlets of Texas, Inc. employees is they have no respect for the customer?s personal space or property. I would advise against inviting anyone from Carpet Outlets of Texas, Inc. into your home.
We went into the store to pick out floors, then had someone out to bring samples to decide on which floor to go with (in the lighting of our house) & measure. The installation appointment was made quickly once we decided and went great! The two guys who installed our floor over the week were knowledgable and friendly. They also ordered new baseboards for us, painted them, and installed. The whole thing went perfectly. Also, we've had our floors (Regal Engineered Hardwood) in our house for an entire year now and they look great! No problems at all, no signs of wear, and we're 100% happy with them! :) We're about ready to remodel a bathroom, so we'll be stopping by again for some tile soon!
Description of Work: Installed engineered hardwood floors throughout house -- two living rooms, hallway, & four bedrooms.
The installers arrive in assign time frame. Did job well .
Description of Work: Provide estimate for sanding and staining hardwood floors. Explaining how process is done. Then gave me estimate for carpet in same two rooms. Salesperson was a very good listener didn't have to repeat my issues or concerns about this job. Will use again.

Carpet Outlets installed handscraped, engineered hardwood flooring in our foyer, office, dining room and living room. Old tile was removed from our kitchen and replaced. Carpet was installed in 4 bedrooms, a game room and stairway. Additionally, they replaced our kitchen countertops, sink and backsplash. All of this work was done professionally and on time. Our interaction with the owner (Bruce Moreland) ,operations manager (Tina) and crew supervisor (Gustavo) was fantastic. The price was competitive and the workmanship was high quality. We are thrilled with the result and would recommend this business team to anyone.
