Alvarez Painting

I called Alvarez Painting to get an estimate to have some cracked sheet rock repaired/replaced. Due to the fact that my wife and I both work a significant distance from our home, we asked if it would be possible to have them come out on a Saturday. I was told it was and he agreed to come out on Saturday the 21st (via a text). On the morning of the 21st, I sent a text message asking for a confirmation of our appointment. He replied back via text two minutes later confirming the appointment, saying it would be early afternoon. A little after 3pm, I called, got no answer and left a message asking when he would be coming. It's currently 8:30pm and I never heard anything. Needless to say, I will not be giving them my business.

Excellent. He was able to come the very day I called him.

Initially I contacted Paul Alvarez to paint my living & dining rooms, hallway, kitchen and laundry, guest and master bathrooms. As we went along, I asked him for his price to do additional projects. Before Paul could begin painting, there was extensive damage to the wall in my living room from Ant infestation and he re-built the wall as well as filled cracks in the wall. Paul had a crew of approximately five (5) workers who followed his directions regarding laying the laminate & ceramic flooring and painting. Another company was contracted and paid to lay the laminate and ceramic flooring, but quit before finishing the project. Paul stepped up and offered to finish these projects and at a lower rate. During the painting and floor laying, all my furniture was covered and protected. At the end of each workday, Paul and his crew left my house clear of trash and tools. Items that were trash were neatly stacked on the curb to be picked up on trash day by the City. Paul did such a fantastic job, I took pictures of the progress and showed his work to my friends and co-workers. Several even asked for his telephone number for possible projects. If Paul had to pick up items from Home Depot, the store's sales person called me to take my payment information and at the end of the project, Paul gave me a breakdown of work done as well as copies of all items purchased. I am very, very pleased with the outcome of these projects, my home looks like a new place and when I am ready to paint my four (4) bedrooms, I plan to contact Paul Alvarez to do the projects. Paul treated my projects like a job, he and his crew started work each day between 8:30 AM - 5 PM. He was very professional and answered my questions. He is a professional with great ideas based on my specific taste. .

I highly recommend them. I had a lot of damage when the sewer line overflowed into my house. I had damage to 3 or 4 walls and about 2 feet from the floor was cut out and had to be replaced. He didn't have to repaint the whole living room because it only affected one wall, but he made the whole living room look new. They were amazing. Worked all day while I was at work & when I got home, things were put back so that I could still live in the house while the work was being done. Very professional! I would definitely use them again for anything I needed repairs on. I tell everyone about how great they are!!!!!

The contractor was quick to respond to our Angie's list inquiry. He spent several hours with us reviewing the job before placing his bid. His initial bid was within the same range as two other bids we had received when we were choosing our contractor, but changed after the job began.... Several things were disappointing about this contractor's work: Re: PRICE 1) The contractor underestimated his labor in his original bid-the contractor should have taken more time to accurately estimate his labor instead of expecting the client to pay additional fees at the end of the job. This dropped his score on price from a "B" to a "C" 2) The contractor never showed any invoices for supplies he purchased for the job (that we had agreed to reimburse to him)-He just stated we owed him "x" amount of dollars for the supplies. This dropped his score on price from a "C" to a "D" Re: QUALITY 1) The plaster work in several rooms had multiple patches of air bubbles that needed to be repaired, and a wood inlaid floor in need of restoration was "undetectably restored". This dropped his score on Quality from a "B" to a "C" Re: RESPONSIVENESS 1) The contractor was hesitant to repair items on "the punch list" that were unsatisfactory to us (i.e. the air bubbles in the plaster and the wood inlaid floor). We really had to press him to finish the work after we had paid him, and he never returned the key after completing the job. This dropped his score on Responsiveness from a "B" to a "C" In summary, When people plan a remodel on a budget, it is disheartening to work with a contractor that either can't, or won't, manage a budget for the job-"D" for professionalism

Paul and his crew did excellent work in a professional manner. They will be doing more work for us in a few weeks. Paul responded quickly to my initial call, came to our house 2 days later to view the requirements, sent a reasonable estimate the next day, and performed high quality work in the agreed time-frame. They did a few "extras" at our request and the price was very reasonable. His crew was quiet, clean, and respectful at all times. Paul runs his business well.

The crew of 3 arrived on time and got to work quickly. They were careful to protect the walls and floor and got the work finished on time.

I called Alvarez for a quote for drywall repair. I spoke with someone who answered the phone. He was not helpful and finally said, "well I cant even help you I am booked up for the next two months, super busy with a big project". Don't waste your time calling them. Find another service contractor.

He was supposed to come on Sept 5 between 5:30 and 6:00pm, but he never showed. I never got a phone call either.

Everything was on time and on budget. They even did some drywall texturing that I had not completed.

This is the second time I have used Paul and his is fantastic. He is very busy so he has to fit me in his schedule. The crew arrives on time and works fast. It is also the cleanest paint crew ever as they are constantly cleaning as they go. Paul wants to make every customer happy and is meticulous in his work. Thanks Paul! I will definitely be using you again.

Alavarez Painting did an excellent job with the repairs. They were prompt with the estimate and scheduling of the job. The job was completed within a day. The price was reasonable. The workers were very professional. We would use them again and would not hesitate to recommend to family and friends.

Paul and his team did a great job. I changed my mind twice on what I wanted done, and Paul never said a word. He just set back, let me make up my mind, and provided a quote each time. Once I knew what I wanted, he made helpful suggestions, which I took. He and his team did all of the work in 1 1/2 days, much to my surprise, and they did a great job. Paul was always friendly and punctual. I would definitely hire them again in the future.

I left a detailed message regarding my request for interior painting. Unfortunately, no one ever contacted me back to provide an estimate or acknowledge my request. I guess new customers aren't a priority for this business.

Called back same day arrived on time for quote and quote came back when expected. Very prompt in starting and completing work. Good quality job, but did notice that they didn't paint both sides of door (not sure if that was mentioned specifically, but would have like him to have asked about it). Wife and I thought price was a bit high, but didn't get other quotes based upon his review on Angie's list, so it may have been fine (I usually do my own work but have been under the weather). Everyone was professional, friendly , and again, good quality, and cleanup. Would use him again for sure.

Never showed for his appointment and no call to reschedule.

Because of a busy work schedule, Paul had to fit me in his crowded schedule and was very kind to do this. He and his crew arrived promptly at 8AM daily and worked very carefully and attentively . They would constantly clean up during the day as taking off popcorn ceilings is very messy. When they left everyday they cleaned up so well we could use those rooms. They moved all my furniture and covered everything very well. They were in and out in 2 1/2 days. Excellent job.

I was very pleased with Paul and his crew and how they worked hard and diligently every day, and were always very accomadating to me and my family during the process. I had my kitchen cabinets painted along with several rooms in the house and they all turned out looking great. Paul was very much willing to do anything that I asked or to answer any questions I had during the job. The initial quote I got did not include paint, which was about 700 dollars so I would just say that maybe that should be included in the quote, but that may just be me not knowing how stuff works in the painting world. Some of my cabinets don't shut as perfectly as I would like but the one's that I had major problems with, Paul and his crew returned to fix within a day or two. I think that Paul was very attentive to get things exactly how I wanted them and would fix anything I didn't like without making me feel bad or acting put out. I would make sure Paul was there next time when the cabinets were being put back on as I think that the crew may not have been as good at that as he was. Overall a great experience and I would use them again

Called several painters on Angies list with the requirement to start right away because we had other work scheduled after painting. Alvarez agreed to and did start and complete as needed. He had 3 very good painters including his son. They did an excellent job. He was cooperative as work was changed and added.

Overall, it was a pleasant experience. Contractor showed up on time to give us an estimate. They showed up on time, finished in a timely fashion and cleaned up beautifully!

Outstanding. In and out in less than 2 days They came out the day after discussing the work. Would use them again, considering them for inside work.

Alvarez had death in family but still stuck to service dates. We reduced scope from five rooms to remove paper, then finish and paint. He brought two helpers. They were not as capable as he, and some quality degradation resulted. Specifically, caulk and join points uneven. Some wall hardware not finished behind, nor properly rehung. No QC customer satisfaction follow up by him. Dd not point out my issues as my wife happy with work for price. Would use again.

From Paul's initial visit to make a proposal, until the day everyone drove off; everything was a delight. They had to move several family antiques plus all of the other furniture in the dining room and living room. Work began with moving furniture, covering other furniture with tarps. One group began on the wall build-out while another group began prepping the living room for painting. The area was kept very clean. Of course all of the work being done was important, but I must comment on the crew. They were all gentlemen. The guys always wore clean work clothes every day. They did not use profanity; never smelled of alcohol, didn't smoke, always respectful and they even put the toilet seat down!! In all of the years of being a rental property owner and a home owner, I do not remember ever having a tradesman who used the restroom while on the job site to put the seat down! They get five stars just for that! Almost forgot -- I took pictures of the various stages of the work and of the crew!

They worked efficiently and did an excellent job. Based on this experience with Alaverez Painting I plan to use them in the future.

Mr. Alvarez and his crew arrived on the scheduled date at the scheduled time. They covered everything in the areas to be repaired, did their prep work and moved items quickly and effeciently to give themselves ready access to the walls. Everything was covered but I never saw any evidence that any paint ever dripped. They cleaned up before they left each day and left us with rooms still usable until they returned the next day. He textured our walls to match the texture done by the builder but his work is so superior that we may have to have him back just to bring the other walls up to that standard.
