Description of Work: They painted my daughters bedroom earlier this month and did a great job. Came on time and even redid a part of the wall that I forgot to take a shelf down after I realized it. Very nice and professional. Would use again for sure.

Description of Work: Paul and his crew showed up as scheduled. This crew was ready with materials and muscle, completed what was required and professional workmanship and quality was accomplished. No hesitation in using the crew again.

Description of Work: Replaced drywall after 4 ft by 4ft section came down in garage. Fixed beam above garage that caused break in drywall on ceiling. fixed 3 other major cracks and some minor ones. Looked great and cleaned up. Told me what to do in attic to prevent further issues. Great service at half price of competition!

Description of Work: "Beautiful job removing and replacing a popcorn ceiling with a textured ceiling, throughout our entire 2 story home. They were usually an hour or more late, but they were coming from a town far away from our home. We would have preferred to know the real time they would arrive each day, rather than an optimistic estimate that they couldn't make from so far away. | |They forgot to tell us to leave our air conditioner off, so a messy process was extra messy. We didn't know, since we'd never encountered it before. | |They were super responsive to final details we requested, which we really appreciated, and the price was very fair. | |"

Description of Work: I used Alverez Painting to repair a hole in a sheetrock wall. Paul and his crew were able to get to it the same day. They did a great job.

Description of Work: I called Mr Alvarez because he had an advertisement of a special. I talked to him on the phone and arranged for him to give me an estimate at my house. When he arrived, he told me the special was a mistake, and he'd already complained to Angie's about it, and you were supposed to have removed it, etc., etc. He did not mention this over the phone, however, before he came to my house. At first he said he would honor the special, but after he looked at the bathroom, he said he would do it for $700. We made other arrangements instead.

Description of Work: Set a date with Mr Alvarez to give me an estimate. Was a bit wary about him just from his response on the phone when I asked him if he subcontracted the guys he uses for painting. His response: "We're a professional paint paint company, buddy." He never showed and never called. No surprise there.

Description of Work: No show for the appontment for an estimate, no phone call, did not answer phone, did not return email, waste of my time, I would not use Alvarez painting,

Description of Work: They did some general repair work inside and outside the house, fence repair, and paint work. They also closed in some unused return vents in the walls, which included new drywall, texturing, and painting. (You can't even tell the holes were there now.) As always, they did a very professional job. I have used them before, recommended them to others, and will do so again.

Description of Work: Painted the exterior wood parts of the house. Applied sealant to the exterior brick parts of the house. Replaced the ceiling in the carport.

Description of Work: Repaired wall in master bedroom. Repainted and repaired walls in master bath and dressing room Fixed leak under and then repaired wood floor in kitchen Re-hung shelves and rods in 2 closets We were smelling a musty smell from behind our master bedroom wall. I had previously had a roofer check to see if water was leaking from the outside. He determined that the weep holes around our foundation was being blocked by our grass. We had turf removed and french drains installed along that wall, but we were still smelling what we thought was mildew. I found Paul Alvarez on Angie's List and he came out immediately and determined that the sheetrock and insulation was covered in mold caused by the blocked weep holes. He removed the paneling that was covering the sheetrock and replaced the insulation and put in new sheetrock, which he textured and painted to match the rest of the room. I was very impressed with his work so I asked him to look at a bathroom that I had re-done about 2 years ago. I was never happy with the "mud" that the previous painter put on the wall. It was too thick and too uniform. Paul agreed and so he sanded it down, made it look more "random" and then repainted and applied an antique finish. I LOVE IT! It looks so much better than before. At that point I asked him to look at my wood floor in my kitchen, which had suddenly started getting dark in one area. He brought in a floor contractor who pulled up the wood and discovered a leak where a water line had gone to my refrigerator - which I had moved to another wall during a previous remodeling project. The previous contractor had not properly cut off the water line. Paul brought in a plumber (on a Saturday!) who attempted to repair the line. He needed a special type of solder to fix it - which they could not find at Home Depot. All the regular plumbing supply places were closed so they drove around looking for plumbing trucks and bought some of the stuff from another plumber. (I'm not kidding!!) They had jackhammered into the foundation to get down to the leak, so they fixed the leak and then repaired the foundation. Paul drove all over the area looking for wood to match the floor I had installed 2 years ago. (Next time I'll know to buy a couple of extra boxes of wood.) The floor was replaced the following day. We have a few issues with some places that don't seem quite even, but after watching them work, I appreciate the difficulty of taking up and then replacing such a small area. (About 4 feet x 6 feet) I think they did as well as I could have expected without replacing the whole room. The day after they finished we had a shelf and rod collapse in our main walk in closet. We called Paul and he came out, looked it over, then went and bought the supplies and they fixed it in one day. I also had him replace the rods in another closet that were about to collapse. I think that's what I liked the best - they get in there - get the job done - clean up and they're done and out of there. All of his workers are polite and professional.

Description of Work: This contractor did not perform any services because they never bothered to return my phone call. I guess they have enough business at it is and don't need any more.

Description of Work: We called and asked for an appointment for an estimate to repaint the doors and trim on our house, and to discuss replacing the rotten wood on the chimney. They said they would call "next week."

Description of Work: The company has not shown up for an estimate. iIspoke with the owner but he never showed for the estimate.

Description of Work: I asked for pricing on several small repairs including door replacement or repair, tape and bedding, painting. To date, I have not heard back from vendor. Contacted him last week and was told that he had asked a contractor for pricing and I would hear back from him shortly.

Description of Work: Patched sheetrock cracks, repaired damaged wood doors and doorframes, painted ceilings, walls, doors, closets and trim of 1500 sq foot vacant house. Removed hardware, patched holes, masked and prepped as appropriate. Cleaned and painted vents, rehung doors, replaced light covers. Paul and crew completed job in 4 days, did excellent, professional work.
