3 Moms and a Mop came to our house last week and we think they forgot their mop because the job they did was very disappointing. We know they did clean some things as our master bathroom mirror was streaked and had fuzzies from the towel still on the mirror. I realized that evening when I washed my face that the towel they used was my hand towel as it was coated in cleaning solution, unbelievable! Our glass shower was cleaned at the top but they did not finish cleaning the bottom of the door. There are scratch marks on our toilet bowl, it was not so dirty as to scrub so hard, and the pad they used to clean left silver slivers all over the tub, sink and floor, probably not the best thing to use to clean a porcelain toilet. They also wiped down some of our pictures, I know this because the rag left streak marks on the frames and some canvases - that should not have been wiped with a rag with cleaning solution in the first place. They also vacuumed some areas but neglected the stairs and powder bath rug. Three beds were made but they didn't touch the fourth bedroom upstairs. It didn't appear that the upstairs bathroom was cleaned either but it is rarely used so it was not that dirty. We are not sure if they mopped the kitchen but the master bathroom tile was not clean. There is a list of "what we do" on their website for a standard clean, I was told I was getting the first time clean which would be an upgrade to the standard clean. From the list I will note what was not done. In the kitchen the stainless exterior appliances were not touched, the microwave was not cleaned and the trash was not taken out. I guess they wiped the countertops and my cooktop, but it was still dirty. Some of the blinds and ceiling fans were dusted but not all. Some baseboards were dusted, doors and switch plates were not touched. Glass patio door was not cleaned and laundry room was not touched. I called and complained, the first time left a message. Then as I realized how bad it looked I called again and a gentleman answered, the same one I scheduled the service with, can't remember his name. I listed the items not cleaned and told him how unimpressed I was with the service. He said he could send them back out, I told him I did not want his cleaners in my house again. He said they have a weekly meeting to go over issues and was trying to make notes of the thing I was listing that were not done. I told him in the meeting to discuss actually cleaning a house. I have had to go back and reclean my house after paying for it to be "professionally" cleaned. I would steer clear of 3 Moms and a Mop if you want to come home to a clean house!
Description of Work: Housecleaning scheduled for a first time clean. I was told this is an upgrade to the standard cleaning so they can get it up to the level it needs to be for continued cleaning service, weekly or monthly. I was told the price would be $115 and this included a 10% discount. My home is approx. 2500 square feet with 4 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. I did think this was a good price and was looking forward to coming home from work to a clean home and to schedule monthly cleaning going forward. That is not exactly what happened and it was extremely frustrating.

My wife and I have a 1400 sq ft home and live alone, just the two of us. We currently have no pets. My wife has been working a huge number of overtime hours and I have recently suffered some very dibiltating health setbacks. As such we had not been very good at keeping the house clean for several months. The dishes were all done and the place was straightened up but the bathrooms really needed a good cleaning, the dust had really accumulated, and the floors were pretty bad. I contacted Mike from 3 moms and a mop because I saw their add in the ad pages. I described our house and our situation. I told him that we needed a VERY good initial deep cleaning and that we would then like to set up ongoing monthly service. I told him that what we really needed for the first service was a really good deep clean and that I needed the stove and oven cleaned quite badly. I also told him that it was very important to me that they not move everything around. I have had previous maid services that leave all the pictures askew and all the nicknacks out of place around the house. This is bad for me as I can barely walk and have to use a cane just to get around (the reason I need a maid service in the first place). So when I have to go behind them straightening everything it is very difficult on me. I was willing to pay a resonable amount and I did not ask for any special price or rate. I simply let him tell me what they wanted. He quoted me a price of $159 for the initial deep clean and $79 for the ongoing. I was actually very surprised it was that low and said ok. He said he would call me later that day with a date and time that they could do the work as he had to check the schedule since it was near Christmas and they were busy. I told him that we were not in any rush as it had been this long we could wait a little longer. Not only did he not call that afternoon, I did not hear from him the next day either. The day after that I called him. He said that he had been busy and sorry he had not gotten back to me. We set up a date of the 28th for the girls to come out and do the initial deep clean. On the morning of the 28th they actually arrived about 10 minutes early. There were two girls. My wife had gotten the previous day off so a lot of the work was already done. Everything was completely picked up and straightened up. There was no general mess. I had run the oven through a self cleaning cycle so all that was left inside to clean up was the ashes that were left. All the bath mats/toilet seat covers etc. were freshly washed and waiting, The bed linens had been washed and were almost finished in the dryer. What we needed was all the good deep cleaning. The girls were at our house for over an hour and a half but honestly other than moving things around (including furniture), which I had specifically asked them not to do, I do not know what they did. After they had left we examined the house. I have never seen a worse cleaning job in my entire life. It would be hard to describe everything here that was wrong with what they did, but here are a few highlights. Only a very superficial dusting was done. Many places weren?t dusted at all. The tile floors were left dirty. On the stovetop they didn?t clean under the burners or lift the top to clean at all. Water dispenser on the refrigerator wasn?t even wiped down. Kitchen table wasn?t wiped down. In the main bathroom when we lifted the toilet seat, it was still dirty and needed cleaning. Top of washer and drier were not cleaned. Shredder in the office wasn?t emptied. The full garbage bags from the cans that they had emptied had been left in the garage for me to take out instead of them taking them out to the bin which is right outside the garage door, a fact that I had told Mike on the phone in our initial conversation about our house. My wife called Mike to tell him about the problems and left him but he didn't answer. She left him a message telling him that she was very upset. She said that it didn't really look like the girls had done any real cleaning at all. We did not hear from him all afternoon. She left him another message early that evening. Late that evening at almost 10 o'clock he called and said that he was sorry that he been busy with family issues. He apologized and asked about the details. My wife said she would send him an email with pictures of the problems. The next day after reciveing the pictures he called and said that he was sorry and would like a chance to send out another team and reclean the house and earn the business. The problem at that point was that my wife and I were both very upset. A maid company is a company in which you have to be able to place a LOT of trust. These are people who are in your home with all of your possesions regularly, very often when you are not home. The initial clean is very much like an audition or an interview and this company had blown it big time. She told him that we did not know if we would be comfortable with their teams being in our home. He asked if we could call him back when we decided. The next day he called back and my wife told him that we had still not decided but she would call him when we did. Two evenings later, on Saturday, it was New Year's Eve. We were in the middle of getting ready to go out on the town when the phone rang. My wife was extremely frustrated that he was calling at 7:00 on New Year's Eve. He told her that if we didn't want to have them come back out then he was going to have to charge our credit card (we had to give him the number prior to service). My wife told him that she was actually very upset by that an that she really felt as if she was being robbed as the girls did not actually clean anything. He said that he would give her 25% off. My wife was standing there with her blow dryer in her hand and wanted off the phone so she said ok. I was in the shower and she came in and told me. I was furious at him. I told her that I would not have agreed to the 25% deal and she said she agreed. She called him back to argue but the best that he would do was reduce the amount to $75, basically the price of a regular cleaning. Which is still effectively robbery since I am not really sure that the girls cleaned anything.
Description of Work: This was supposed to be an initial "deep" house cleaning.

Response from 3 Moms & A Mop
I am very sorry that Member was not pleased with our service. We spent more time than estimated in Mr. Clark's home and offered to return and re-clean the areas that he was not satisfied with. I feel we have been more than fair in the resolution accepted by Member.
