I first went into their office about the third week of May 2015 with photos of my existing sink and counter. I was told that the information would be given to a certain person in the office and I would receive a call. After several calls from me over several weeks, I was finally contacted by a guy named Matt the end of July. He asked that I send the photos again. I did, and when I had not heard anything by August 6th, I wrote an email. I received a call from Joan and was told Matt no longer worked there. I arranged for one of their personnel come to measure the space. On August 10 he came to my home and I paid $75 for the service. August 27th I finally received an email telling me of one (1) sink that they proposed. I wanted a sink of better quality so asked them about 2 other models on Sept. 2. In error I gave them the suppliers model number not the manufacturers, so that day, (Sept. 10), I faxed them the correct models along with specification sheets from the manufacturer. I emailed weekly until October 12th and could receive no answer from their engineers. Finally, I went by their office around October 19 and picked up the template their engineer had drawn. I was told by Ferguson's Gallery that there were several sinks that would fit and all they need is the template. I have found someone I consider more reliable to do the work. I used Artistic Counters twice more than 10 years ago and was very happy with their service and the quality of their work. This is why I went to them for this job. However, this time, in my opinion, they were the most unresponsive, and unreliable company with whom I have associated in many years. Five months is an entirely unacceptable period of time, and even then I had still not received the information I needed or the service for which I had originally contacted them.
Description of Work: Requested their assistance in replacing a stainless sink under my granite counter top.

I want to retract my scathing review, I was given some wrong information by one of their employees. I was originally told it would only take 2 weeks from measuring to installation, but I have been told that was incorrect information it is usually 3-4 weeks. It has been over 4 weeks. I talked to Home Depot and they furnished with me with that information and they told her it would be next week. at this point it is a wait and see what happens. I called Artistic this morning and was told that someone would be in touch with me?? Just wanted to set the record straight.

They indicated that it would not be a problem and it would only cost about $300.00. They said they would contact the owner to make sure of the cost and get back to us. They never called us back so we made another trip to talk to them and we were promised that the project manager would contact us no later than one day. We waited two days and never received a call. They just left us hanging..........the worst customer service ever! We used this company about six years ago to install Corian counter tops. My husband reminded me that their customer service was terrible at that time, too. They had given us a date and time for installation and never showed up to start the work. We had to call them three times to see when they were going to start the project. I decided to see if they would do this current project because I really thought that perhaps the customer service had improved. I was willing to give them another chance. Unfortunately, as the old saying goes, a leopard doesn't change it's spots. It really is a shame that they have such terrible customer service and just leave customers hanging because the company really does beautiful work. But it is really a hassle to get to that point. This is without a doubt the worst customer service we have ever experienced. I would not recommend this company to anyone. There are plenty of counter top installation companies with much better customer service who would appreciate our business no matter how small the job.
Description of Work: My husband and I contacted this company to see if they could make two cuts in our existing granite counter top so that we could remove the cooktop and install a new stove in it's place.

They came out and put in new counter-tops and a sink. They guy that came out and did the measuring goofed up. And the guy who came out to do the installation was able to fuse everything together and take what he had and really do a fantastic job. the counter-tops that we have are Corian. We've got an integrated sink and a drain board carved into the counter-top. My wife smiles every time she walks into her kitchen.

We were connected to Artistic Counters through Costco. We placed our intial call and did not recieve a call back for days. We ended up complaining to Costco to try to get assistance in responsiveness. It took weeks to get a quote and it was $800 more than our other quote. We went with the other contractor and were pleased. Artistic was helpful once we finially were able to talk with them. Johnny gave us good advice about out kitchem remodel progress and when it was right to do the countertops.

We were very pleased with Artistic Counters after having a bad experience with another company who wasted six hours of my time by showing up very late and taking almost two hours to do the measurements, then telling us they don't do outdoor countertops. The price with Artistic Counters was actually quite a bit lower as well. The product is absolutely beautiful, and everyone with whom we worked was very friendly and helpful. The crew came out to install our countertops on a Friday, and of course it rained that day, so they rescheduled for the following Monday. I did notice a place in the counter where it didn't line up just right when they did the dry fit, and they were more than happy to make the correction. Because the work had to be rescheduled, and a different crew was sent out on the second date, they were sure to pass on the change that needed to be made so it was done right. Our counter tops look beautiful, and the seams are barely noticeable unless you are really looking for them. We are very pleased and would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking to update their countertops.
Description of Work: We had granite countertops installed in our newly constructed outdoor kitchen. There were three surfaces covered including one sink cutout and one hole for an umbrella pole. Granite was installed on masonry.

Artistic Counters came and measured for the counters in our laundry room and for the countertop on our guest bathroom vanity. The counters were installed on the appointed date and time. The counters look great. The Corian sinks were delivered and work well in our kitchen. Everyone at Artistic was prompt and professional.
Description of Work: We are building a new home. We needed to find a fabricator for Corian countertops that we had brought from our previous home to use in our laundry room. Our builder's fabricator did not fabricate Corian so we had to find a company to do that. We found Artistic Counters on Angie's List. We also needed a travertine countertop for a guest bathroom vanity we had purchased. Joan helped us find the perfect marble for our freestanding bath vanity. We also needed two Corian sinks for our new kitchen.

Extremely disappointed with Artistic Counters! They did an excellent job of installing our Corian countertops several years ago, but were nonresponsive to recent repeated requests for a modification job. We waited nearly four weeks, with repeated emails and phone calls to the San Antonio based company, practically begging them to do a small job for us. The only response we got was and quot;I do not know why you were not called yetand quot;. Queries to whomever answers the phone, requesting to be put in touch with somebody who could solve the problem, referred us to the same individual who and quot;did not know why you were not called yetand quot;. We are now in the process of finding another Corian countertop repair service on Angie's list. Hopefully the new company will be more responsive.
Description of Work: Requested countertop modification services were not performed.Company ignored requests for estimates or contacts.

On Wednesday, November 16, 2011, a salesman from Artistic Counters came to our house to measure our bathroom vanity in order to give us an estimate for installation of a countertop. His handwritten estimate was for $1,005.00 for countertop and $150 for sink cut-out, for a total of $1,155.00. He wrote down 13.4' of and quot;Savoryand quot; Zodiaq @ $75/sf. On November 21, Artistic sent their representative to template the counter. The drawing showed a square footage of 13.48. At this time, we gave Artistic a personal check in the amount of $577.50, which was one-half of the $1,155 amount. The next day we received the first proposal for our signature. (This showed our new Zodiaq choice to be and quot;Flaxand quot;.) A $25 trip charge was added to the original amount above (which had not been mentioned to us previously). When we checked this Proposal, the last two numbers for the countertop were transposed which showed the amount of $1,050, rather than $1,005. When we brought this to his attention, the salesman said he would be sending us a corrected Proposal. On November 23, before we received the corrected proposal, we got a phone call from the salesman telling us that Artistic couldn't sell us the Zodiaq, as proposed, because they would have to order a full slab. So, we went back to look at their granite yard to see if there would be something else we could use. We also brought 3 pieces of granite home that day to audition them in our bathroom. On Friday, November 25, we returned the granite samples to Artistic and looked through the granite yard again with the salesman. At that time, we were told the price of the New Venetian Gold was $38/sf and Crema Bordeaux was $62/sf. We decided on the Crema Bordeaux. On Monday, November 28, the salesman called to tell us the price of the Crema Bordeaux was actually $67/sf, not the $62 originally quoted. We said that would be okay. On Tuesday, November 29, we received a new proposal with the amount of $938 for the granite. When we calculated the granite at 13.48 sf @ $67, the total came to 903.16. So, we called the salesman and asked him to correct the proposal to show that amount. When we received it, we would then sign it and get it back to him so we could get the job scheduled. We received a corrected proposal about 2 hours later with the corrected amount of $1,078.16 for the total job. We then signed this and faxed it back to Artistic in less than an hour. On Wednesday, November 30, we went back to the granite yard to determine which piece of granite we wanted to use. The salesman taped our counter template to the slab we chose. He said he would call us right away to schedule the installation. Later that day, since we didn't hear from him, we spoke to someone who checked to see when the installation would take place, so we could schedule the plumber. We were told installation could be done at 3 p.m. on Friday, December 2nd. On Thursday, December 1, we had a telephone message on our answering machine from the salesman saying he was sorry, but we couldn't have the Crema Bordeaux we selected because it was a full slab and they couldn't use it for our job. Rather than call him back, we called his supervisor. He said he was very sorry, but he just couldn't use that slab. He told us he would try to see what could be worked out, that he would look thoroughly on the granite yard to see if there were any smaller pieces that might work for us, and that he would get back to us before noon. He did call during that time frame but just suggested that we come back to the granite yard to look some more. He said he even had a quartz piece, and quot;Flaxand quot;, that might work for us. When we told him that was our original order and we were told they didn't have it, he said something to the effect that it was and quot;like Flaxand quot;. (I believe he was thinking of and quot;Savoryand quot;, which we had decided early on was not the color we wanted.) We also told him we had been through the yard on at least four occasions, both with our salesman and with another Artistic employee, and we just didn't see anything else we wanted. At that time he mentioned he may be able to find a piece of Crema Bordeaux at another company's yard and would get back to us before the end of the day. It was interesting that he was willing to do that, since we had suggested it several days before and was told that would be impossible…that they couldn't use granite from another yard because they would have no recourse if something were wrong with the stone. Friday, December 2: We never heard back from the supervisor the previous day, nor any time on Friday. So, we called him at 3:26 p.m. to see what he had found out. He was helping a customer, so we left a message for him to return our call. We called again at 4:07 p.m. and asked if he was still tied up. He picked up the line and said he'd found a piece at Young Stone that was called and quot;Crema 'something'and quot; (not Bordeaux) and that he was waiting for a photo but still hadn't received it. At this point, we told him we felt it was time to and quot;cut baitand quot; and cancel this job. He told us the accounting people were gone for the day, so he would have to check with them on Monday to see how to go about refunding our initial payment. He said something to the effect that it may take a number of days to get this done, and our response was that they could issue us a check as easily as we could pay them. We also requested our lavatory template back and he said he'd try to find it. We explained we were sure the salesman knew where it was—that it was in the purple file labeled and quot;(our last name)and quot;. We weren't sure if we could get there before they closed to pick it up, but he said he could also bring it to us (since we live fairly close to Artistic). When we realized we couldn't get there, we called back and told the salesman, who said he'd be able to bring it by. He didn't come by, nor were we called. On Monday, December 5, we found the lavatory sink templates in a file folder on our front porch (about 8:30 a.m.). On Friday, December 9, (one week after the originally scheduled installation) we called the supervisor to ask about our refund. We had purposely waited a week to contact them to see how they were going to handle the refund. He had us hold for 5 minutes and then told us they were cutting the check right now and we could either pick it up or they would mail it to us. We told them we would pick it up that afternoon. We picked it up and deposited it to our bank the same day. Please Note: Our son had Artistic do his kitchen countertops a number of years ago, and we had them do a small repair job on a Corian countertop for a kitchen island we had in our home in Oklahoma. We had always been impressed by their service and workmanship, so this experience was really a huge surprise for us. At no time were we EVER told our job must be cut from a small piece; that is, not until AFTER the order proposal was signed. And two Artistic employees knew we selected the Crema Bordeaux. We talked to Artistic on numerous occasions and visited their yard at least 4 times. We originally picked the Zodiaq from a sample in the showroom and signed that proposal with the respective payment made at that time. No trips looking at granite would have been required had that initial order been completed
Description of Work: First of all, since I didn't end up using this company, this report is primarily to advise/inform others of our negative experience. Since we had previously had two positive experiences, I was extremely surprised at the outcome of this venture to get a granite countertop installed in our master bathroom. I apologize for the length of this report, but maybe it will be of use to others considering this company. Also, please note that our down payment mentioned above was refunded when we decided not to use Artistic Counters. .

Great experience! We went through Costco and got a great price. We have a huge kitchen and thought that granite would be cost prohibitive. This company is very professional- they come draw out your counter and provide you with an estimate on the spot. If you contract with them, then you schedule an appointment to have the counters laser measure for custom cut. It takes from 7-10 days (during which time they will call you for a date to do the install). Even for our large kitchen, they were in and out and we had new counter tops within about 5 hours. From initial call, it was approx 3 wks to new countertops. John and his crew are very responsive and promptly return phone calls. The install was easy and they left things cleaner than they found them. Very happy with the looks of the counters. There were 2 areas where they told me I would see a seam- can hardly see it. Would recommend this company highly!
Description of Work: Came in and replaced white laminate with granite countertops. The took out our existing counter tops (just an fyi on this- you can save a little money if you demo your own countertops).

Description of Work: After several phone calls by me, they came out and measured for a Corian replacement piece in a 22 year old Corian shower. Someone dropped the ball and after two months, I called to be told they had lost the measurements and would come out again and measure. They did so and promptly called me with an estimate. I paid half and they came out 7 days later and installed exactly what I wanted. Beautiful job.

They're a good company. We are very pleased, they did a really good job. They answered all of our questions. They cleaned up all up of the mess. They thought we were supposed to have a check when the job was done, and they couldn't run the credit card there and they left and we went to their office to pay the next day. They were flexible about it, they went in went it was convenient for us, they came when it was convenient for us. They did everything they said they were going to do. They were very good. They filled it good, I have no problems with it at all.

Two different gentlemen came to the house to take measurements and do the templates for the counter tops on two different days. I had been told that this would be done in one day. I signed the paper they gave me with the understanding that it met the request that I had given them. I did not know that there was technical jargon used on the form that mislead me as to what was going to be installed into our house. Not only did the company not have the back splash integrated into the countertop they did not even bring them with them on the day of installation. Furthermore, when installing the bar top they over cut the piece. Knowing there was multiple mistakes and that the job was not finished or the issues resolved, they attempted to get my wife to sign the paperwork indicating that the job had been completed to standard. They also left a board with nails in the house along with razors. They showed little regard for working in another person's home and near there belongings.
Description of Work: I purchased Corian counter Tops from Lowes on approximately 3 July 2006. I requested to all new counters done with the bull nose edge, a large single integrated sink, and a 3" integrated backsplash. The work was subcontracted out to Artistic Counters for completion.
