He inspected the chimney. Could not clean the chimney advised me to contact someone else to see if they can clean the chimney. He did inspect the chimney. i will shop around to see who has a better price.

Timely, and quick and efficient. Took steps to keep the rest of our home clean.

The company was quick to respond and came on the date and at the time agreed upon. Did the inspection and cleaning in a timely fashion.

Had an appointment 2 weeks in advance. The appointment window passed and then got a call that they would be there in an hour. It was too late because I had already left the house and given up. I asked the person if they knew what they were supposed to do when they got there. They had no idea. They only had an address that they 'were told to go to'. Maybe they are perfect for a different customer who prefers this type of service.

Paul was FANTASTIC! We have most certainly found our annual chimney sweep! He was on-time, courteous, true to pricing discussed over the phone and did not try to over sell anything. He cleaned up after his work and left the are spotless. We are VERY PLEASE with this company, more over with Paul!

We found these folks last year to inspect and clean our chimney. We called them back for an annual inspection, and this year also had them work on my mother's chimney. Their tech was personable, courteous, and thorough. They were on time, on budget, and there were no surprises. We will be using them annually, and recommend them highly.

Terminex claimed I had a rat problem and wanted to charge me thousands to seal and treat the attic. I had already had the attic sealed a few years ago by another contractor and rats or squirrels dug out some of the copper mesh. Rather than pay an obscene amount it was off to Angie's List! I asked Chimney and Wildlife Specialists for an estimate. Josh arrived and identified new areas of access that the previous contractor hadn't sealed. He agreed to reseal the previous work as well as seal the newly identified areas for $1,200 less a discount for Angie's List customers. I asked about some tuck pointing I needed done (brick work) but it wasn't something they could help with. Josh promised alternate names but I never heard back. Once scheduled, Josh arrived back at the house and did all the promised work. I think Josh did a much better job both identifying areas of entry and sealing them than the previous contractor. There cost was easily double that of the former contractor but the job was done right. Only minor complaints: 1) They were supposed to return 3 times to check the traps. They only came back once and no rats were found. I would be fine with them waiting longer for the second round and then not returning again... but they should have told me rather than just not show. 2) Josh never responded with alternate names for someone to do tuck pointing with color matching of the mortar. Even a response of "I couldn't find anyone to do the work" is better than saying you will do something and then not. 3) In one spot the foam sealant expanded to become a blob on the front of my house. Everywhere else it was well applied where it didn't stick out so much. In spite of these minor complaints I am in general satisfied with the work done. I would use their services again.

After a scheduling mix up, everything was effectively resolved and the Manager and Technician were VERY responsive.

They quoted me one price for chimney cleaning and inspection. The tech cleaned the chimney from the inside fairly well. But due to weather we both agreed he should return for the second portion of the service. It took him two weeks to come back. That's with me hounding him on the day and time, at one point he said he was simply too busy and had to push me back a week. After I had already paid them! Also the tech told me that he would patch up the top of the chimney upon his return, to keep wasps out (which was my primary complaint about the exterior of chimney). It was not done. Since the tech came out when I was not home, I called asking him to return my call so we can discuss what was done during the second visit. He never returned my call. When I got a hold of the owner of the company, he promised he would come out and look at my chimney himself. That did not happen either. He said that he could look at the picture that his tech sent him via cell phone and offer me a solution that way. So Instead he quoted me over $450 for a chimney cap to solve the problem. He tried to "sell" it to me as a deal too. This place is unbelievable. I would never refer this place to anyone. They are super nice when they want to snag your business, but once you pay them, they show their true colors.

Another company had cleaned my chimney and fireplace, inspected it for safety, and applied a CrownCoat, which cost an additional $200. It looked a mess and I wanted an objective opinion. Josh Hasten, of Chimney and Wildlife Specialists, was kind enough to take a look at no charge. He found gaps along the damper lintel areas, which were a safety issue. He also noticed that the CrownCoat came off in his fingers, even though three days had passed and it should have dried. He said that he would have only charged $75 and used mortar. He also said my cap could easily come off, which I believe because it was old. He gave a fair estimate to repair everything, including a custom-made cap. The cap he suggested was beautiful and reasonably priced. I thought Josh was professional and really liked him. If it weren't for the battle with the first company, I would have hired him in a New-York minute.

Paul came out quickly to give an estimate. He first quoted just the demo of the bricks and not replacing. just to keep things the way they were I asked to add the replacement onto the estimate which he did. Paul and the owner went above and beyond to answer all of my questions. I was truly impressed. The reason I gave them a B was that the chimney was fixed on Tuesday and the cap was going to come in hopefully by Friday. I asked Paul to give me a call a day before so I could write and leave a check. He called me Friday around 7:45 am and of course I was already on my way to work. He did come to my work to pick up a check however it was rather inconvenient to me because of course I had the intent to write a check at home so that's where my checkbook was. I had to run to the bank and get a cashiers check during my worktime (which my bank charges $8). Better planning would have easily gotten these guys an A.

the chimney cleaning went very quickly and there wa no mess. he also informed me that I should not be using the chimney because the back wall needs to be rebuilt and burning in it could cause it to cave in. We had never used the chimney before as we had just bought the house. he provided us with a reasonable quote for rebuilding the back wall. he was very professional and kind.

They did a good job. I might use another provider, not that I really disliked them but just for purposes of comparison.

It was good. The work was done well and we were satisfied.

It took him a really long time to do his job.

Paul arrived on time, and called approximately 30 minutes prior to arriving, as promised when the initial appointment was made. He introduced himself and really listened to my explanation of what services I needed and wanted done. He was very courteous and very professional. He seemed to be well versed in his craft, asked appropriate questions and offered informative advice, without using the "hard sell" approach. He placed a heavy duty drop cloth over the hearth and floor in front of my fireplace to protect my home and got straight to work. He cleaned the stack and vacuumed out any soot, ashes, and or dust that was loosened, climbed on the roof and checked the chimney cap. He even took pictures of the cap with his phone so I could see it and he could explain to me exactly what I was looking at. He didn't even mind when my Boston Terrier barked her fool head off at his vacuum! He was very respectful of my property, pets, and of me. The price for these services was about average, compared to other competitors, and considering this is their peak season for this type of work, but then again, I suspect that using their services in the "off-season" may yield less expensive rates. This was a very positive experience, and I expect to use them again (when needed) in the future. I would very highly recommend their services, and their technician, Paul Herman.

Josh (technician) was very professional and explained everything we needed to know about the fireplace. He cleaned everything, provided us with a key for the fireplace and walked us through how to turn it on/off.

Josh was running a few minutes late but called us and to let us know and actually arrived shortly thereafter. He covered the fireplace area with a large cloth and proceeded to clean out the fireplace. No mess whatsoever. We then were told one of the fireplace refractor panels was missing. This could have cuased the fireplace to catch on fire and burn down the house. This is a rental property (only one we have) and the tenant apparently pulled it out and threw it away. We are having the company replace the panels in December.

Very Professional and friendly and did a Great Job!!! He also went up on the roof to take pictures of the chimney cover and gave us a couple prices if we were interested in getting a New one in the future.

They called before coming and showed up on time. They were professional and thorough. I would definitely use them again.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was okay. They could only do the chimney so I didn't get my dryer vent cleaned. They were fine. I'm just not happy that I spent $175 for two things and only got one. I don't know if I would use them again. They said they didn't know how to do the dryer vent cleaning.
