Safe Pro Pest Termite and Rodent Control

Found Safe Pro on Angies List. Called Safe Pro and one other pest control co. with high ratings on Angies List. In addition called major national pest control co I have been using on my current home for past several years...Always felt like I was overpaying considering what little they seem to do. Alex was able to come out the next day for initial treatment on new home prior to our move-in. Quoted me $90 over phone (w/ Angies List discount). Thought sounded very reasonable considering new home is 4500 sf and I pay a little more than that currently w/ national pest control co. for current home under 3000 sf. Brand new home, never lived in with no pests observed other than a trail of fire ants coming into garage. Alex spent 1.5-2 hours going over/treating entire home inside & out, & made suggestions of things we could do on own. Was very thorough and I had a lot of confidence that he knows his business. Very service oriented. Final charge was $85 plus tax for initial treatment. We will use him on quarterly basis (at same rate) to keep new home pest free.

They did a very good job. They were on time, and they did what they said they would do. I haven't had any problems with them. If my tenants have had problems with him, they haven't called me. I checked a lot of their references beforehand.

They showed up on time, gave an estimate, fixed the roof where the critters were getting in, set traps and checked the traps a week later--but no more critters! They were very pleasant to work with.

I am committed to stay with their regular quarterly pest control services for as long as the quality of their service is as excellent as this.

Alex rid our house of squirrels and fixed all the areas that critters were entering our house. Our house is almost 5000 square feet and has a very high roof, so it was more difficult to repair all the holes since it required a very long ladder and a lot of courage and expertise! Alex and Nick are competent, professional, reliable, thorough and friendly. We will have them come back every 3 months to do routine pest control.

They caught the rat! They also put bait boxes in a couple of spots outside of our home and they installed various barriers on potential entry points (foam spray / fine mesh screen) crawl space. They placed glue boards and traps in the attic and traps in the crawl space. Nick had to enter the crawl space on two separate occasions which is why the cost was higher. It's our understanding that if we had a slab foundation instead of pier and beam, the cost would have been lower but it requires more effort to crawl underneath the home in the crawl space and also you don't know what you might encounter when you go down there! Which does make sense because neither my husband nor I were willing to go down there to look for damage caused by rats to our plumbing insulation and place traps. Nick did take pictures of the "chewed" plumbing insulation. Also he was friendly and professional.

Alex is a very personable and professional. He is very prompt in returning messages and always calls before his scheduled appointment. We have been pleased with the work that was done. They showed up when scheduled, did the work that was estimated and additional work that was found at no further charge to us. They cleaned up after themselves and were very respectful of our home.

I had a new baby in April and let the house go. We live right by White Rock and the neighborhood had tons of construction going on which moved all of the neighborhood rats into our house. I called and Alex came within 2 days. He hadn't seen anything like my house (I was so embarrassed). He was so nice and humorous about the situation. He left traps in the crawl spaces and attic and safe sticky sheets inside, so the dogs and baby would be safe. Nick and Alex very beautifully copper meshed or sheet metaled all of the openings. He screened in the the larger openings that needed air intake. There was no way anything was getting in or out. They came back every 4 days to clean out the traps!!!! It was awesome! They did that until no more rodents were alive. I loved them so much there was no doubt that I was going to sign up for pest control too. I have a long covered patio with skylights and fans, and they get dirty! When Nick came to do the pest control he cleaned it! I was so shocked. He said that was part of their service. Since he was here, no critters, or creepy crawlies have been seen. Perfect since the baby is now in everything. Thanks Guys! Ryan

I contacted Alex and emailed him a picture of my house with the squirrel location marked. I have a tall roof and wanted to make sure they could reach the squirrel nest. He worked with my schedule and came out the next Saturday. I work and wanted to minimize any of my time off work. Responsive Email communication is very important to me. Alex and Nick did an inspection and made a recommendation. There was no charge for inspection and no hard sell. I agreed to the work on the spot. They immediately did the all the exclusion, paint-touch up, and trap setting in attic and on roof. They explained that they would come back and remove the big trap on the roof in a week or two. There would be an additional per-squirrel charge if any critters were trapped. It was very reasonable considering time to access my roof and relocate a squirrel several miles away. No squirrels were actually caught in the trap. As promised, Safe Pro called in a couple of weeks to arrange for job completion. They came back and removed the trap on the roof and sealed off the last nest area where the trap had been positioned. There was no extra cost for this. We discussed charges for refilling our rat bait stations. The stations were purchased from another exterminator and my husband has been refilling them himself. Safe Pro charges were so reasonable and these guys are so efficient that we've asked them to put us on their regular 3-month schedule. It is now over a month since the exclusion job. The squirrels have moved away and we see no sign of new critter invasion.

My husband and I constantly heard things crawling in our attic. Since Safe Pro got such high remarks from Angie's List, we decided to use him. Alex first gave me an estimate after searching for animals in the attic and noticing how they were getting to the attic. Alex was very knowledgeable, thorough, pleasant and professional, He came out a week later to check the traps he left for the lovely rats and while he was here, he did a thorough bug extermination of the house. I would absolutely use his services again.

The owner of the company, Alex Cantaboni, did an inspection of our house for evidence of rats, explained what he found, taking pictures of the areas that are not easily accessible for viewing, explained the method he recommended for ridding our house of any rats and ensuring they could not gain entry to the house again. The work was performed by Alex and Nick who sealed the roof areas where the rats were gaining entry to our attic, set out snap traps to kill any rats that might still be in the attic, and set out rat poison boxes in our side yards. Since they took the time to paint the metal flashing they installed, the repairs are invisible unless you know what you are looking for. Nick came back a week later to see if any rats were in the traps, leaving a few behind as a precautionary measure. I would definitely recommend them to anyone faced with rodents in their attic or other areas of their house.

Called Safe Pro and they worked with my schedule and gave me options. They called with 30 minutes notice (some say they will call but don't, but Safe Pro did every time) and I meet them at the house. They explained that there probably were not any squarrels in the space as it was a nice day. They set a trap anyway just to make sure. They then preceeded to repair all potential openings around the exterior of the house. He also noticed that there were two holes that lead right into walls where the AC units enter the house. He said that it was a prime entrance for mice and rats. I said I have never seen anything in the house, only in the garage. He pointed out that there might not be anything, but this is North Texas and roof rats are common and I might not ever see any in the house. So at this point, all entrance points were plugged and squarrel trap set. Last step was to set 4 giant traps in the attic just in case. Two safety traps were set outside as well. At some point before this, the costs were explained. Everything was all ready to go. Before they left, they said that if anything was caught in the squarrel trap or the traps in the attic to give them a call. Later that evening we heard a trap go off in the attic. I waited for the kids were down and then pulled down the pulldown steps. I got as far as the top of the steps and could hear whatever it was still alive in the trap. I closed it back up and called the Safe Pro number and left a message. At this point I wasn't sure what was caught. I was promptly called the next morning. He went up there and found the biggest rat still alive in the trap. He was amazed that it was still alive. He removed it and said to let them know we heard anything else in the coming days. They came back a week later and removed the squarrel trap, repaired the hole and removed the traps in the attic. Overall a great experience. I will using Safe Pro on a quarterly basis for our normal pest control needs. I would recommend to all. They were prompt, courteous and very professional explaining completely as they went. There were no surprises.

Alex and Nick were on time, spent a lot of time inspecting everything and then detailing their services and just how they do business. This, in itself, was extremely helpful as I was mentally comparing their services to other pest control services I had been doing business with in the past. They fit my needs exactly and their prices are less than the other companies......and I get better service and more coverage. Plus now I know who the people I am going to do business with and who is going to show up at my house for service. This makes a huge difference. Alex even got on the roof to inspect for possible insect and rodent entryways, etc. and noted that my neighbor had a hole in their roof which was extremely appreciated not only by me but for the neighbor as well. He took a picture of it and I was able to send this to my neighbor. Such a simple thing to do but he took his service that "one step further" and did the right thing by reporting a neighbor's problem. I am a firm believer in doing business with smaller companies as you are no longer just a number, you are a real customer and you have a one-on-one relationship with this company.

We called Safe Pro right before Christmas and was called back within an hour. We scheduled to have pest service and flea treament done the next Wednesday. Safe Pro arrived right on time, came in with shoe covers on, asked us to explain what problems we were having, then explained what they would do to treat our house. They took the time to explain the process and answer all of our questions. We left the house so they could treat it. The rep called when he was done, explained what he did, and told us to let them know if we need any follow ups. We also signed up for quarterly service with them.

AMESOME! Alex came out & was very thorough in his assessment and explanation of treatments. He was extremely responsive (same day) to come out and make a determination as to what type of problem we had. After a very long discussion as to various treatment methods, why he was positive we didn't have rats or squirrels (and likely not mice), and what types of ongoing service programs were available (after I brought it up), he left us with a free quote and no pressure to decide right away. We decided quickly (same day) that we wanted to use Safe Pro not just for our immediate issue, but also for termite prevention, which we had been discussing for some time. Alex came back with his team at the prescribed time - very prompt! - and they were extremely thorough in not only in the termite prevention process, but also in sealing up two spots where our roofline meets the garage, and setting up sticky boards in the attic. They will be out weekly to check the traps until no more pests are spotted (or only lizards, which I've opted not to kill off). If we had not selected the termite prevention, our cost would have been around $300. Extremely reasonable! I'm very pleased with the professionalism, honesty, and care of Safe Pro! Oh! and an extra bonus - when they were digging the trenches for the termite prevention, they pointed out to me where I have either an armadillo or possum living in my bushes. They gave me sound advice as to how to eliminate the critter, should I choose to (suggested that I have my yard treated for grubs, since that's what they eat).

I purchased a house in McKinney while I still resided elsewhere. Further, I have never used an exterminator because I never lived where they were routinely needed. But, because the house had been vacant for awhile and because of all of the critters in the Dallas area, my son suggested that I better have an exterminator come out before we moved. He hired Safe Pro Pest Control. Below is a copy of an email that I sent to my son. "As you know, I asked for your assistance in finding a pest control company when the McKinney house was overrun with bug critters. You recommended Alex Cantaboni and his company Safe Pro. I was less than delighted in doing business from 850 miles away but trusted your choice. And properly so! Alex immediately contacted me and went to the house and serviced it on 7/14; then, contacted me to let me know what he had found and what he did - wonderful service! Yesterday, 7/29, your brother noticed a "gigantic" spider and "lots" of baby spiders in the garage - the house was fine. I sent Alex an email last night advising him of the situation. This morning, Alex emailed me that he would go out and handle it; this afternoon I got another email from Alex advising that he had taken care of the problem. Way too many words to thank you for recommending Alex, and, in particular, to ask you to convey my personal "thank you" to Alex for being so responsive and professional. Based on my experience, you can certainly add my unqualified recommendation to yours!" I have since moved to McKinney and have Safe Pro come every quarter to "service" the house. Always professional; always on time; always call before coming; always do "extra" things: remove spider webs and mud dauber crud, wear disposable "booties" if they come into the house, etc. During the summer, they made an extra trip to handle some fire ants in the yard - extra cost = 0. On a recent service, I mentioned that I had noticed some (very!) tiny ants on the kitchen counter from time to time. Alex knew immediately what type of ant it was and that "spraying" was ineffective - they had to be "baited." He then proceeded to bait in appropriate locations with a "safe" product. No extra charge for this service - part of the routine! By the way, I haven't seen an ant since! It is rare these days to find a company so dedicated to service and I highly recommend Safe Pro Pest to everyone in the Dallas area!

When inspection was finished, Alex presented his recommendations and gave me options for treatment. He works with you and lets you decide what's best for your home. Every quarter, he checks the rodent boxes and replaces any bait that's been taken. These boxes are safe if you're worried about the kids, as I was. Alex and his team come to my home immediately, free of charge, if I have any issues in between scheduled treatments. I had a problem with ants in my dining room, and Safe Pro came out and took care of it, free of charge, between services. I haven't seen an ant inside my house again. They will take time with you to explain about your pest problems. If Alex doesn't know the answer, he will go to work to find the answer for you. For example, I had an armadillo problem. Alex researched the best possible way to get rid of it. In the end, he suggested that I have the lawn treated for grubs and that would make the armadillo go away. I did that, and the armadillo is gone. He could have charged me to trap the animal, but that wasn't the best option. He wanted to solve my problem, not get more money out of me. He goes above and beyond when it comes to customer service. Amazing! Alex is genuine and honest and he employs people of the same caliber. He is very knowledgeable. Always on time. The products are top quality. Of all the companies I've hired since moving to Dallas last October, I can say without a doubt that Safe Pro is, by far, the very best company I've worked with. In fact, Safe Pro is better than any pest control company I've ever dealt with, having lived in six different states. A top notch company with top notch people. You just won't find a better pest control company anywhere. Period.

I would recommend them first. Their demeanor was one of true professionalism. They determined that the only droppings I was seeing were actually from Geckos and not rats. They showed me pictures of the areas. They set bait boxes outside by the shed and sealed things up well. They were honest enough with me to let me know that they did not know how to get rid of them. They were very honest and professional. This was the first company that correctly diagnosed the problem and was honest enough to let me know that this is not their expertise. The other companies would simply charge for removing rats, setting traps, etc. and not investigate to see what the problem actually was. The Gecko and rat sound the same to the homeowner, but require different approaches to remove. You can see the difference from their droppings.

Who wants to admit they might have rodents in their home (even just in the attic)? Yuch!!! However, I didn't think the scurrying noises from the attic and walls should be ignored. So I turned to Angies List and after evaluating several contractors through the experiences of others with similar problems, and expecially after having read their reviews, I contacted the well-reviewed Safe Pro Pest Control and it's owner, Alex Cantaboni. I explained to Alex what I was hearing and peppered him with questions about his methods for resolving this kind of problem. He, in turn, asked several questions of me and then set an appointment date to come out and evaluate the problem. He arrived on time a few days later and spent about an hour in my attic as well as on the roof before sitting down with me and explaining what he had found. He explained the problem in detail and proposed a plan to eliminate the rodents he had confirmed were residing in the attic. This would involve closing multiple small holes in the roof and eave areas with sheet metal and/or copper mesh (painting to match trim) plus trapping the rodents he had discovered in the attic. Alex provided me with a reasonable quote for the work and explained that was all I would ever spend on the problem until it was resolved to my complete satisfaction, regardless how many follow up trips or additional repairs he might have to make. He and his assistant retuned a few days later and completed the work in about two hours. A few days after that Alex returned, emptied, and re-baited the traps. He will continue to do that until there are no rodents left to capture and no holes left to gain access to our attic area. I'm pleased with the progress so far and believe that Alex will continue until the problem is eliminated for good. Coincidentally, I saw Alex and his company featured on NBC Channel 5 a few days after my treatment, as he was selected to help explain and advise on a feature story related to pest control on NBC Channel 5 News.

From the start, Alex (the owner) was professional and helpful. He gave an estimate, and then had to repeat everything for my husband's ears. He was patient and very service oriented. When we chose to use SafePro, they scheduled quickly and came when promised. Because it was raining on the evening they installed, they made a special trip back to paint the sheet metal. Alex was accomodating and thoughtful. Both he and Nick always wore shoe coverings in the house, and were careful to clean up any messes they made. Alex kept me apprised each step of the way, has a very good communication level and I would definitely recommend him to others. Their prices were reasonable and affordable. He even brought special treats for my dog!

This company provides exceptional service. Alex (the owner) performed a thorough inspection of our property, including attic, garage, crawlspace and roof. He made specific recommendations for rodent eradication that would be safe with our housepets. He also performed work to block entry points to prevent the little critters from getting in again. There was no sales pressure, just education and informed recommendations. The price was a good value and we chose to sign on for quarterly pest treatment (more thorough and lower price than other companies we'd contacted). I recommend Safe-Pro highly!

Totally knowledgeable and professional, problem fixed. Also taught us how to lessen the opportunity for ants to enter. Also found and eradicated fire ant mounds hidden in the yard.

He did a thorough job & we were pleased with his customer service & pricing. Update: we've now been in our home over a month & had some fire ant mounds pop up in the back yard (welcome to suburban life in Texas). Alex was VERY prompt in his response to our request (he is very accessable via email, which is SO convenient), came out immediately to address our problem & our fire ants are a thing of the past. I continue to be impressed with his responsiveness, professionalism & courtesy.

Alex was punctual, wore foot protectors inside our home, was very thorough in inspecting our home for pests.
