AWESOME job, as usual. Todd's crew is really good at everything they do. They completely cleaned the tile and it looks fantastic. We tried for months to do this ourselves but could never have achieved the kind of results that Taylor got. We use them for "everything pool".

Todd and his crew are the best pool service we have ever used. Not only is he "cool" but he's ultra responsive, thorough, and keeps our pool in great working order, taking care of things we would never think of that need to be done to keep it in good condition. My favorite thing is how easy it is to contact him. He texts with me back and forth and services are done almost immediately. I highly recommend Todd!

Todd is awesome. He answers questions, explains everything, and if there's a problem, comes right back himself to correct it. We're very happy with his service. He has done the weekly maintenance, we well as filter cleaning and a few other minor repair jobs. He's on time, direct and easy to work with. We're very pleased!

We've been really happy with this company. One of their people shows up every Wednesday and handles all the chemicals, maintenance and clean-outs. if they notice an issue (or impending issue) with the equipment they let us know on the written report they leave on the door every time. We can either have them schedule the work or have it done elsewhere. They did a great job of getting our pool balanced, and keeping it balanced, even with all the crazy rain and freeze prevention run times. We have an automatic chlorinator so this is tough because the more the pool runs, the more chlorine it pumps in Always on time, fast, friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.

Todd goes above and beyond when taking care of a pool. He is meticulous in maintaining it. Balances chemicals perfectly and doesnt over chlorinate. I got to so many homes where you are hit with the smell of chlorine as soon as you open the back door. We never had a issue with chemicals not being perfect. There are other things he does that not all pool compiles do too - like adding things to make the water look even more clear etc. things a lot of other low cost providers wont ever do. But our pool always looked fantastic. And he is always accessible if you have a question. If something breaks he knows who to call to fix it. He generally just makes owning a pool VERY easy. Which is how it should be when you hire a pool company.

Todd and team are great. He has taken care of my pool from the day it opened 3 years ago. Todd will text me if he sees issues or has concerns which has helped prevent small things causing big problems. Todd always gets back to me within the hour if i have a question. I was originally going to do the chemical work myself, but quickly realized i spent too much on putting the pool in to have a novice like me ruin it. I'm confident my pool is fun ready everyday with Todd's help. Thanks Todd!

We contacted Todd in late April to begin weekly pool maintenance. Since he (and his crew) began keeping our pool, we must say our pool is a pleasure to spend time in. It never has too many chemicals in it and feels clean and refreshing! We are so glad we found him. Todd also referred us to an individual that repairs pool equipment - unfortunately we didn't write his name down. Our pool heater was on the fritz and the person he referred us to was fantastic, too! Overall, we are pleased with the work and will absolutely continue receiving service from Todd and his crew at the Cool Pool People.

Because Oncor trespassed on our property despite our prior written objections and replaced our working meter w/an unwanted "smart" meter, we've experienced numerous electrical problems including our pool pump not working. We discovered the problem on Sat 12/22 and called Jim Bussing intending to leave a vmail. To our surprise, he answered his phone and said he could come fix it on Mon 12/24. We so very much appreciated him working on Christmas Eve to fix our pool pump especially since the forecast indicated snow and ice for Christmas. We've hired Jim numerous times for pool repairs and equipment replacements, and we're delighted to find such a professional contractor.

Very well. This is the 2nd time we've hired Todd & his crew to perform weekly pool maintenance while on vacation. They performed well again. Very pleased w/his professionalism.

Both Jim and Todd are not only nice guys, but also professional. Todd originally referred us to Jim for repairs b/c we do the regular maintenance ourselves. We've hired Jim ~8x from April 2011 - June 2012 for various repairs of the filter, check valves, lights, leak. We've also had him replace our controller, PDA, and sweep. Jim's very efficient and gets the job done. We hired Todd during a 3 week vacation last Nov 2011 - Dec 2011 for maintenance. He updated us weekly on pool/spa status.

I cannot say enough great things about Todd and his staff! They are amazing! they make us feel like we are their only clients even though we know that they are very busy! They are very prompt, courteous, professional and reasonably priced. Their name suits them, they are very cool pool people! People on the west side of McKinney should check them out. We are on the edge of their territory and they would love to have more business over here. You will NOT be disappointed!

They do a great job. I will use them again in the future.

Before we moved from Wisconsin to Texas I found the Cool Pool People and left a message on Todd's phone. Todd called me back within an hour and we talked about what we wanted done which was to convert the pool from chlorine back to salt and that the cell needed to be tested to see if it actually worked. Todd asked why we wanted salt and explained to me the pros and cons with both salt and chlorine and in the end told me that they would do whatever we wanted. Todd said that he would have Jim call us and set up a time to come and look at our pool. Todd was very knowledgeable and curteous and I enjoyed our conversation. Jim called that evening to schedule a time and he arrived exactly when he said he was going to. We have never owned a pool before and Jim was more than willing to show and explain to my husband how to care for our pool. Supposedly, a pool person came out to check it after the inspector said it was not working properly and they said it was fine. Jim had to replace a bad accuator and performed other maintainence on the pool equipment as well as cleaning the skimmer buckets, the sweeper, he tested the pool water, he was very thorough, knowledgeable and friendly. We had a GREAT experience with the Cool Pool People and would ABSOLUTELY use them again! Thanks Todd and Jim!

I can't say enough great things about Cool Pool People. My salt system crashed and our pool didn't have chlorine for over a week. It was the Monday before July 4th and my regular service provider was booked until AFTER the 4th! On Thursday (before 4th of July weekend!), realizing I could not control the algae I got on Angie's List, read through the reviews and sent an email to Cool Pool People. Todd called me later that evening, within only a few hours of when I sent my email. After explaining my pool problem he said he could stop by Saturday morning. Todd arrived at the time we agreed on and did exactly what he said he would do. He came by again the morning of July 4th to treat the pool again. I was so impressed Cool Pool People is now cleaning our pool on a regular basis. Todd is very friendly and personable. Thank you Angie!!

I have a feeling this company makes money by constantly finding problems with your pool. In a period of two months since they started working for us, we had to replace parts of our filter, then we had to purchase a new pool sweeper. Then we were told chloride dispenser was leaking water and were asked to pay couple hundred dollars to replace it. Our home warranty company used an $15 part to fix the leak.

A large amount of leaves and debris had settled in my pool after a recent storm. I cleaned the debris myself and balanced the chemicals in the pool to the best of my ability. However, I was having consistent trouble with algae growth on the pool surfaces even with daily brushing. I spoke with Todd Gustafson with Cool Pool People and decided that the filter likely had caught much of the small storm debris and needed to be cleaned. Todd was very responsive and scheduled me for the filter clean promptly. He called me the day before to confirm his arrival time in case I wanted to be there for any questions or concerns. He was punctual, cordial and professional as I repeatedly bothered him with numerous questions while he and his assistant (Joey) continued working. The filter cartridges were very dirty and contributed to my algae problem. Todd and Joey were very professional. Todd discussed products and options for keeping my pool sparkling and the algae under control. He did not try to pressure sell me into anything I didn't need.

First my spa was emptying itself so I had them come out to take a look. They replaced a broken diverter valve, but also found a leak in the heater. The header for the heater was on backorder so it took several weeks to complete the service. They showed up when they said they were going to show up and made follow up phone calls to let me know what was going on. I wasn't there when the heater part was replaced but he left the part for me so that I could see where the crack was. While we were waiting for the heater part, I asked Todd to come out and clean my pool filter. Again, I couldn't be there but my wife was home. He called when he was on the way and showed up on time. The last time I cleaned the filter, I cleaned it myself and know what is involved. After talking to my wife, I realized that he did a better job than I would have done and he also cleaned (in acid) my chlorinator. I do most of my own pool work but I'll definitely use Cool Pool People again when major work is needed.

I was desperate. Our pool was completed three days before we were headed out of town for two weeks. We needed someone to take care of it while we were gone. We found Todd/Cool Pool People on Angie's List. We spoke with Todd before we left town and gave him a key to our gate. He was going to brush the pool and backwash the filter while we were out of town. Not only did he do that, he also texted me every time he did it, told me the chemical levels in the pool and what chemicals he added. He told me about a leak he discovered and some rocks that had come loose around the pool. He did a fabulous job. We actually just had him over to the house to walk us through everything about our pool: cleaning, chemicals, backwashing, best practices, etc. We want to take care of our own pool, but Todd will definitely being doing more work for us in the future.

I have nothing but good things to say about Cool Pool People. Todd is very personable, extremely responsive and dedicated to making sure you are happy. I have been using Cool Pool People for approximately 3 months now, and it's great!

I haven?t decided whether I am going to hire them or not. They seemed very knowledgeable and more of a proactive company and seemed like the type that could take care of the problems before they happen. From what eh told me, they seem to be punctual and come every week. They are a little pricey compared to what I am paying now.

Cool Pool People has been performing my weekly pool maintenance for the past 4 months. Being fairly new to pool ownership, owner Todd Gustafson was always happy to answer my questions about maintenance, chemicals & equipment. Recently, in an effort to save some money, I decided to try and do the weekly cleanings & chemical measurements myself. Though Todd hated to lose the weekly account, he was extremely gracious in instructing me on water testing & basic maintenance of my pool. He made recommendations on what chemicals to keep handy & where reasonably-priced parts can be found. It is actually a bit more complex than I would have thought, but not over my head. If it gets to be too much, I just might bring him back! Todd will still be providing periodic filter maintenance for me, as well as being my go-to guy for repairs I cannot handle. Ask him about seasonal maintenance agreements, one-time cleanups & pool maintenance instruction.

As new pool owners who didn't know much about maintaining a pool, let alone pool equipment, I was looking for a pool company who would be patient with a lot of questions, assess and provide recommendations in easy to understand terms and be responsive. Todd Gustafson and his co. definitely exceeded my expectations. Initially, I had noticed water pressure problems with our pool and filter and was thinking about upgrading our equipment. That was before the cold weather hit our area in Jan. Then I had a bigger problem - our pool and spa completely froze over! I called Todd on a Sat. afternoon after the pool freezing happened and within 2 hours, he not only called me back but came over to assess the situation. Following that, Todd would proactively call every couple days until our pool thawed out (have now learned, got to keep the water moving when it's cold). He then was over again to go over our equipment and make recommendations. Todd patiently answered all of my questions (I had a lot) and every time he or one of his co-workers made a commitment for a service visit or equipment installation, they were there just as they said with no surprises on the equipment installs. While the work we needed and wanted to have done wasn't cheap, Todd was also very helpul in sorting out options with me and, in fact, talked me out of more expensive equipment that I did not need - which as a business person he could have just tried to sell me on. Throughout all our repairs and installation work, Todd was a pleasure to work with, and as mentioned, always followed through on his commitments. We would definitely work with Todd again and recommend him to other members.

I have had company owner Todd Gustafson provide my weekly pool cleaning for nearly a month now and he has been punctual, professional and consistent. He was able to diagnose a major pump problem and went far out of his way to get the needed part immediately and fix the problem at a nominal cost. His services are a few dollars more weekly than my last service ($40/weekly) but his work has been quite good. He requires payment in advance (one month's worth) which made me uncomfortable at the start since his company was new to me. He agreed to let me evaluate his services for the first couple months (like a probationary period) and delay payment without penalty. So far, he has not disappointed me. Based on the several weeks he has been cleaning my pool, I would recommend him to my neighbors.
