Chuck's Custom Upholstery

We had a 10-15 year old (hand-me-down) leather couch on which one of the back tufted cushions was nearly ripped off the fabric backing on the back of the couch. Additionally, we had another piece of (matching) leather furniture on which one of the back tacks was loose. We called Chuck's for an estimate, and (after sending a few digital pictures), he gave us an estimate of $300-350, including pick-up and drop-off from our home. He said he would fix the loose tack for free on-site. Chuck was very easy to work with as he seems to operate a very small business out of his house. It was easy to set pick-up/drop-off times with him ahead of time, and he was very flexible about when he could come (even outside his normal business hours). He picked up our couch on a Thursday afternoon and called back on Monday morning to let us know he was finished. The total was very similar to his estimate range, and the couch looks great.

I had called several contractors to discuss getting the torn fabric on the sofa repair. None of them actually understood what I was talking about or trying to convey. Chuck new what I was talking about right away and had experience in correcting the problem. He set up a time, based on his schedule, to call for the repair. He called right when he said he would. He also came and picked up the furniture pieces and was very accommodating with our schedules. My husband and I miscommunicated and had to reschedule with Chuck several times. The repairs were completed quickly, again, right on time. Overall, a very pleasant experience. We would definitely use him again and recommend his services without reservation.

I called Chuck's Upholstery to inquire about repairing a split seam on an ottoman. Chuck was extremely helpful and polite, and provided an estimate over the phone just given a description of the issue. Upon taking my ottoman to him, Chuck completed the repair in less than 10 minutes while I waited. True to the phone estimate, he charged me $20, which I thought was very reasonable given the fast service. I will definitely use Chuck's service again.

I called Chuck and he returned the call within a day. I emailed him some photos of the furniture and he provided a quote based on our conversation and those pictures. Chuck picked up the furniture from our home and delivered it back at a time that worked best for us (he was quite flexible). He only took a couple of days to complete the work, delivering it back to us much sooner than we had expected was possible. The quality of the work is outstanding. I would highly reccomend him.

I recently had Chuck re-upholster a large fabric rocking chair and an ottoman. When I initially called to get an estimate from Chuck, he was incredibly professional and gave me ideas and info I wouldn't have otherwise known or thought to ask. We paid an additional small charge for him to come to our house to pick up the pieces to be upholstered (as well as drop them off when they were completed) and he was very punctual each time. When you speak with him about an estimate, he takes excellent notes, so each time you call you don't have to explain who you are and remind him of all of the details. I would highly recommend Chuck's services and I'm already planning my next re-upholstering project for him!!!

These covers were in poor condition and I did not expect an estimate before Chuck saw them. Once he had the opportunity to see them, I was pleasantly surpised to pay only 50.00 for re-stiching and patching the two items. Chuck was very professional and a pleasure to deal with. The project was finished before he told me it would be. Quality service at an excellent price.

I searched the web to find out how much fabric to purchase. I used that information to search locally for fabric. However, the navy and gold print that I wanted was only found on the web, at $45 per yard. I called several upholstery shops on Angies List to find an upholstery shop that could do the work. Chuck was the only one who gave the same estimate, 7 yards for the chair and two for the ottoman. Because of the fabric expense, it was important to me that I have just the amount needed to do the job on this chair with a sturdy frame, still in essentially good condition. Chuck's estimate gave me confidence to trust in the good reports on Angies List. We agreed on a time for pickup. Chuck was prompt and enthusiastic. He said he had a lot of work to do between Thanksgiving and Christmas but he was certain he could get mine done before Christmas. Two weeks later, I was surprised when he called to ask about a time to deliver my chair and ottoman since I was not expecting it so soon. An hour later, they were in my living room and looked beautiful. The fabric pattern matched throughout going from the center of the seat cushion pillow all the way up the back. The piping was perfectly aligned around all the seams on the arms, back, seat cushion, and the ottoman. The entire job was perfect. The chair looks new again, in a color that matches my present furniture. The ottoman is even more comfortable than before at the perfect height to stretch out and relax. I could not be happier with the entire experience, the professional job on the furniture, and the fact that Chuck is a man of his word. The final price was the price quoted. He is a pleasure to work with and a delight to know. I will definitely recommend him to friends and family.

Chuck was a professional and a pleasure to work with! He responded right away to my telephone message, and he explained the process of recovering the chairs - including several suggestions of where to select the fabric. He worked his schedule around mine, arriving early one morning before I left for work to remove the chair seats. He worked efficiently and with a very positive attitude. I showed him an antique chair, which had fabric and springs which were hanging below the seat. He quoted a very reasonable price to repair it, and he took it with him. A week later, Chuck called to say all was ready - several days earlier than he had promised. We are delighted with the chairs - they look better than new - he apparently added a little fullness to the seats. He retied the springs on the antique chair - it looks so much better! What impressed me about Chuck was not only his expertise and promptness, but also his integrity. As he was finishing re-attaching the chair seats he called me over due to a problem - apparently he had cut himself and a small amount of blood had gotten onto the light-colored chair seat. I got him a bandage, but his concern was for the chair - he even offered to purchase additional fabric and re-upholster the chair, if necessary! It was not a problem - we had some pet stain removal, and all came out perfectly. I would recommend Chuck's Custom Upholstery to anyone looking to freshen a dining room set or otherwise change their decor!

Here's what I posted on Facebook shortly after Chuck delivered the ottoman: I've had an ottoman sitting in my great room for a few years with fabric draped over it waiting to be upholstered. It's finally done! Chuck was easy to work with and did a great job! I'm so thrilled with Chuck's service. He picked up the ottoman and material and dropped it off when it was ready. The price was right and his work was fantastic!

Called Chuck for an estimate which he gave me right over the phone. He was very helpful by giving me the names of a couple of fabric shops to look in for the upholstery fabric. I actually purchased my fabric in one of them. He picked up the chairs at the exact time specified. He told me it would be 3-4 weeks before he could get the chairs done because he had taken some time off and was running behind. I wasn't in a rush so this was fine with me. Upon completion of the chairs, he called me and delivered the chairs again, at the exact time we agreed on. The chairs look and feel better than they did when they were brand new. Would definitely call Chuck again in the future and would gladly recommend him.

Great experience. Dropped it off and was ready 2 weeks later. I wasn't in a rush so the timing wasn't bad for me. I live in Southlake so his shop is farther than I anticipated but that I b/c I am new to the area and not familiar with the distance between towns. Would definitely recommend.

I called Chuck to setup an appointment to show him what I wanted done. He came by right on time, and I showed him what I wanted done. Later on that week he called me with an estimate of the cost of the project. I agreed, and he stopped by later that week to take exact measurements and to pick up the foam mattess to be used and the fabric I had chosen. I provided him a drawing of the work that I wanted done as well (describing how I wanted the fabric placed on the foam/piping, etc, as there were two fabrics to be used). About a week or so later, he had the project done and delivered the upholstered foam and skirt later that week. The upholstery work was well done; however, he used the wrong fabric on two different places (the bolster he made for the back of the sofa, and piping on the skirt). Also, the foam he used for the back cushions was very stiff and not very comfortable. In addition, the skirt that was made for the front of the sofa was about an inch too short. Overall, the work was decent, and the price was very low compared to other estimates that were given me. However, I think if I had to do it over again, I might go to a larger fabric/upholstery company where there are more options to look at (foam filling/an actual storefront to get ideas from other furniture in the shop). If it is basic upholstery, I imagine Chuck is one of the least expensive out there.

Chuck made my twelve year-old sofa go from old and tired looking to like new. The back cushions and side pillows were hopelessly misshapen. He restuffed with quality foam and now it looks like new. You could tell he took pride in his work and it shows. Would definitely use again.

We contacted Chuck about the job, and he quoted a price on the phone. We took the items to his shop which is behind his home in west Frisco. We delivered them on Monday, and they were ready late in the afternoon on Wednesday, although he had promised them for Friday. The cushions and pillows came out just as promised. We couldn't have asked for a better job.

The experience was very good. We delivered it to him, and he did the job at exactly the quote that he had given us before. He returned the excess fabric to us, and we were very satisfied with the price.

Really well. I had Chuck come out from Dallas to give the estimate, he asked me several design questions, made some suggestions, and told me exactly how much fabric to buy. I bought it myself and it looks absolutely beautiful. It is now over a year since I had it built and it looks brand new - and my toddler is not gentle. Everyone remarks on it and it looks really special. Chuck is definitely not cheap, but most custom work that looks professionally done isn't, so I think it's absolutely worth the money.

Chuck was great to work with. We made an appointment 3 weeks out. I took the chair seats to his workshop to save on the pickup fee. I hadn't purchased enough fabric to do the welting, so I purchased additional and mailed it to him. He still finished on schedule and this was just prior to Thanksgiving. Wonderful job. Will do business with him again.

Chuck called back within 24 hrs of my initial call, made an appointment within 2 days and was on time for the appointment. He assessed the work, gave me an estimate and took care of the problem in a timely manner. He was punctual, professional and personable. I would hire him again and highly recommend him.
