He was prompt and got to work quickly. Right away, he showed me how it had worn with age and why it wasn't working. He put in a new one at the agreed upon price. Everything went smoothly and it has worked fine ever since. I would definitely use him again.

I would like to add an addendum to this review. I wrote the review on Sunday, 9/22/13. I was off work on Monday, the 23rd. When I returned to work today, 24th, I had a msg from Mr. Garner on my work phone from Saturday afternoon telling me that he had been trying to call my cel fon and got no answer. Again, I did not receive any calls from him on Saturday. That does not explan why, when I spoke to him from my land line Friday evening, his cel fon did not show my home numberon his fon. Also, during that conversation, I gave him my cel fon number so don't know why he could not get through to me unless he wrote the number down wrong. I sent the emails to the website shown for him on Angie's list. No matter now. The stove is fixed. I?m sorry to have to do this, but I am very irritated at the moment. I have used Abel Repair Services at least twice before. I know that they repaired my oven and my dryer. I would give the father the model of the appliance and the son Jordon showed up to fix. When Jordon was on his way to repair the dryer, he had to call and ask me my address again because he couldn?t find the house. I walked outside and saw him down the street so waved him down. Upon arrival, he made some comment about his father (Larry) making a mistake on the address. Okay. So Labor Day weekend, I sent an e-mail to the company web site using the address found Angie?s List. I gave the model number of my stove and the problem (the burner indicator was not showing that one of the burners was in use.) No response. Sent two more e-mails. Still nothing. So I finally took the time one day at work and called. Spoke to Larry Garner. He said he did not know anything about my e-mails. Told me that his wife answers the e-mails and that she ?usually jumps right on them?. Also pointed out best to call rather than e-mail. (Then why have an email address? Besides, the emails had always worked before.) After this explained the problem. He said that he was in the area and could come by that day. I told him I was at work and not home. I asked if he didn?t want the model number to the appliance. He said really needed to come out and look as problem as it could be due to several different things. It was decided that on the upcoming Saturday, 9/14/13, he would come by and look at the stove. I told him I had one errand to run that day, but would be home all afternoon. Gave him by cel number and home address. Never got a call. Finally, I called him again yesterday, 9/20/13. When I told him who I was, he said that he had called me on that Saturday. I didn?t dispute that as I didn?t want to accuse the man of being a liar, but I did not receive a call from him. Anyway, I figured that was just typical contractor BS as I knew that I did not get a call from him on my cel fon that Saturday. Okay, so yesterday evening I called him (Larry) again. He again said he would come by and check out the indicator light problem. I made some comment about hoping I would not have to stay around the house all day waiting to hear from him. He assured that wouldn?t happen. He asked if I planned on going anywhere in which I couldn?t be back at the house within 30 min as he would give me that much leeway to get home when he called me. I agreed to that arrangement. I again gave him my address and my cel fon number. I decided I didn?t want to take a chance I might not be close enough to get home within 30 min. as I was tired of dealing with this problem, so I did stay home until 5:30PM waiting on his call. Again never got a call!

My microwave stopped working and Abel Appliance Repair fixed it quickly. Jordan was friendly, neat and quick. I have used them before to fix my refrigerator and will use them again if one of my appliances decides to stop working.

I called Abel Appliance Repair due to the positive reviews. I knew nothing about the company that the call was given to. See above.

Larry is absolutely wonderful. I cannot say enough good things about him. He saved us from having to throw away a lot of food. You cannot find anyone better, he is professional, concerning, compassionate and a very warm and friendly person. If we ever have a problem in the future I will immediately call him.

It was a great experience. I was impressed with their responsiveness, they answered right when I called and came out the following day. I have not had any issues with my refridgerator since.

They did a great job. They were extremely responsive and came out within a day of my call. They are a local company who knows what they are doing and are reasonable. I would highly recommend them.

It was a Saturday night and we were desperate because the kitchen refrigerator seemed to be going downhill. I had ordered a Taylor refrigerator thermometer and it was registering 70 degrees. We lost food and moved some food to another refrigerator. I called my regular repair man on Saturday night and left a message with no response. I looked through your list found Abel Appliance Repair who had Sunday hours until 3 so decided to call about 5pm and leave a message. I was stunned and pleased when he said he would come that night. He discovered it was the Main Computer of the refrigerator which enabled him to order it Monday morning, pick it up and come back Monday evening and replace the old with the new. Larry is an honest, hard-working guy who has done repairs for nearly 40 years. He also took a look at the non-working ice maker and told me what to do when 3 previous repairmen had NOT known what to do. One said, "it is a piece of junk"...Larry proved it wasn't. He got it working immediately. He defrosted the freezer. We had washed all the shelving and he put them back. He advised me on the filter. I thought i needed a new one, he said we didn't because we hadn't been using the water or the ice maker. He took his time, did a great job and I'd have him come again. He did not charge me for coming on a Sunday, but I gave him something extra just because I thought it was appropriate. I will call him again for Appliance repair.

Dryer was no longer heating. Abel Appliance Repair provided responsive scheduling, prompt arrival for appointment, quick diagnosis, and accurate repair (parts on hand).

I called to ask about having someone come out and give us an estimate to do some repair work on our Samsung French Door refrigerator. I spoke with Larry and after I told him the issue he knew the exact type of refrigerator we had and was able to tell us that it is a design flaw. This has been a reoccurring problem for us and 2 other repairmen didn't have a clue about this or Samsung themselves! He was incredibly knowledgeable and informed us how to fix this issue on our own since there is nothing more that can be done other than thaw out our refrigerator for 24 hours. He could have come over and taken our money to do the same thing all other repairmen have done, but he didn't . I will never buy a Samsung refrigerator again! If we ever do need repair work done on any of our appliances, I will be calling this company!!

Jordan called after I had called the 24hr line. He diagnosed the problem as best he could over the phone and indicted his father would come out the next day. The next day he called after I called him and said he needed to check his calendar and call me right back. Never heard back from him, which surprised me after the ratings they received on Angie's list. Disappointed as Jordan seemed knowledgable. I ended up calling another service provider.

Woke up Sunday morning to find freezer and refrigerator were not working. Called Abel Appliance Repair around noon on Sunday and they were able to come out that evening for repair. Really saved us by coming out same day (on a weekend!).

I called Larry a couple of days ago to ask him to take a look at my 4 cu ft mini-fridge on my patio which was not cooling any longer. He told me he was pretty busy but would get to me in a day or so, which was fine with me. He arrived at 6 PM last night and within minutes had installed a valve, fixed the leak and charged up the refrigerant in my unit and it is humming along at 45 degrees now. Larry was about as laid-back a repairman as you'd ever meet, and honest about the service perhaps not working. As it turned out his leak repair seems to have worked and my wine and beer are ice cold again.

Larry seemed to evaluate the problem well and stated I needed a new water valve kit. It had to be ordered as he did not have one. I had to call to remind him to order and call to check and see if it had come in. He was prompt to call back and I was able to schedule quickly. It installed quickly and has worked well since.

The owner named Larry Gardener was good and did a wonderful job for me. He came out to look at my refrigerator after I called him at eight in the morning even though he was all booked up. He called and told me that he would be running real late but he eventually got to my place and checked it. He replaced a small part and that looks like it fixed the problem. I was very pleased with him and his professionalism while doing the job.

He did just a perfect job. On our large refrigerator, he went straight to the faulty part and switched it out. The price was extremely reasonable. Later the defroster wasn’t working. I called him on Saturday just to leave a message about the problem; he actually answered the phone on Saturday and he walked me through fixing the problem over the phone. He gave me the advice to fix it myself without charging anything extra or even needing to come out. I really appreciated that.

I called last minute on a Friday & they were able to come the next day on a Saturday. He was very nice & gave us options for the repair. He then fixed the freezer.

My washing machine broke of course while I was washing a load of laundry. Spoke with Larry who came that same day. He had the machine up and running in no time.

Great! Larry is a wonderful person who seems to care about his customers. He not only went above and beyond, he spent time responding to my questions about other things. He seems very experienced, knew exactly what the problem was and quickly fixed it. I have him in my phone now as the appliance repair person to go to for any questions and repairs!

We were impressed with his genuine interest in trying to assist and his honesty in sharing why he could not repair our refrigerator.

First contact was by phone where I described the problem.. Provider called back with price and "apologized' for the high unit price. The service cost was reasonable. Provider arrived at the appointment time, knew what he was doing and performed a professional remove and replace. He also provide advice on how to extend the life of the new unit.

This is a busy week because of the holiday, July 4th, yet Larry came out next day after a call yesterday evening. His quick response was great. He isolated the trouble immediately and made the repair. Larry is very professional, friendly, and very customer service oriented. I would not hesitater to recommend him to anyone, and I have put him in my rolodex.

Called the vendor as he was the highest rated in my area for the required, albeit smaller, refrigerator water line repair. We discussed the problem for a few minutes, at which point he mentioned he was driving and was very busy on that day. I had no problem whatsoever, as this wasn't an emergency situation. I mentioned the next day or even the following day would be fine. He agreed, and offered to call me back once he stopped driving to schedule me for one of the two next days. Having not heard from him in 26 hours, I called Larry back, noting that I had called the day prior about a water line repair. He then told me that he was extremely busy the next two days, and he wouldn't be able to get to my job for at least three or four days. Disappointed. A highly rated vendor, but it seems that the customer service so highly regarded within the reviews is slipping. Business was lost due to failure of communication, especially with a potential customer that was as flexible as we are.
